Abhishek Bachchan's Housefull 5 releases on June 6.
Abhishek Bachchan returns to comedy with Housefull 5, a film co-starring Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh as male leads. Ahead of the film's release tomorrow, June 6, the makers released a behind-the-scenes glimpse from Laal Pari shoot. Seconds into the video, and you'll see Abhishek pulling off Nora Fatehi's Garmi hookstep from Street Dancer 3D. His father, Amitabh Bachchan, took to X and reacted to the whole BTS clip.
The shoot of Laal Pari song from Housefull 5 was a laughter riot. A video from the song's making is going viral on social media ahead of the film's release. However, the catch in the track has to be Abhishek lying on the ground and effortlessly pulling off Nora's tricky Garmi hookstep as the cast and crew cheered on. Akshay added his own flavour to the moment. Taking to X, Abhishek wrote, 'Chaotic? Yes. Glamorous? Definitely Fun? Always. Go behind the scenes of the track that's got everyone grooving! #LaalPari BTS Out Now! #Housefull5 releases in cinemas near you on 6th June 2025! Book your tickets Now!" Watch it here:
The video invited a comment from Amitabh Bachchan. Numbering his X post, he wrote, 'T 5402 .. hahaha .. what a fun fun fun … !!!"
Meanwhile, Housefull 5 will feature two entirely different climaxes in different theatres. Speaking about it, Sajid Nadiadwala shared, 'With Housefull 5, we wanted to take a bold creative swing that hasn't been done before internationally for any thriller film. The idea of having multiple endings, multiple experiences has been with me for 30 years. Since, i wanted to make Housefull 5 a thriller comedy, there couldn't have been a better way to execute my idea of having multiple endings than this."
He added, 'It felt right to do something radical as we celebrate 75 years of Nadiadwala Grandson in the industry. Housefull is India's biggest comedy franchise and for the fifth instalment, we had to push the boundaries of what comedy can be. The idea of different endings came from a simple question: why should the audience always have just one version of the truth in a thriller? With Housefull 5, we've built a film that plays with form while staying completely rooted in entertainment. It's a killer comedy, literally, with twists that change depending on where you're watching it. and I'm proud we're doing it under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson as we mark 75 years in the business. Our legacy has always been about embracing scale, stars, and giving audiences newer experiences and Housefull 5 takes all it to another level."
He further mentioned, 'It's a natural extension of the theatrical experience: creating intrigue, rewatch value, and a sense of discovery. In a world of spoilers and algorithms, we're bringing back that element of surprise. And that's where the fun begins."
Housefull 5 stars an ensemble of 19 stars, comprising Akshay Kumar, joined by returning favourites and some new faces including Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir. The film, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, releases on June 6, 2025. Anindita.Mukherjee

Housefull 5 vs Thug Life Worldwide Opening Day Comparison: Akshay Kumar's comedy tops Kamal Haasan starrer to emerge number 1 Indian film of the week

This week has seen the release of two major films. One from Kollywood and one from Bollywood. Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam's crime-thriller, Thug Life, released on 5th June while Akshay Kumar fronted comedy-ensemble Housefull 5 released on 6th June. Both films were locked in an intense battle to become the bigger opener and Housefull 5, by the slimest of margins, has managed to take a higher opening. Housefull 5 has grossed Rs 37.25 crore on the opening day, driven by its India collections of Rs 26.50 crore (Rs 22 crore net) and overseas collections of USD 1.25 million (Rs 10.75 crore). Thug Life took a bigger opening internationally than in India. It grossed a good USD 2.25 million (Rs 19.30 crore) internationally while it could manage just Rs 17 crore in India. The Day 1 Worldwide Box Office Collections Of Housefull 5 and Thug Life Are As Under While the opening of Housefull 5 and Thug Life at the worldwide box office is not too different, the gap shall increase through the course of the run of both films because the word of mouth of the latter is poor, resulting in higher than normal drops. Housefull 5's word of mouth is on the mixed side and that should be enough for the film to sail through. The advance bookings of Thug Life were bigger all across the board but the spot bookings of Housefull 5 were better, helping it trump its able competitor on the opening front. The spot bookings of Housefull 5 show that the franchise still enjoys a strong following among the mass audiences, who are generally known to book tickets once the film hits theatres and not pre-book it. Housefull 5 has an uninterrupted run until the release of Sitaare Zameen Par on 20th June, 2025. Thug Life too doesn't have major competition until the release of Kubera. The open run shall certainly benefit Housefull 5; but Thug Life, not so much. You can watch both Housefull 5 and Thug Life at a theatre near you now.

‘Male Mira Kapoor': Housefull 5 director draws flak for comparing babies to dogs in Deepika Padukone-Vanga row

Ever since news broke that Deepika Padukone turned down Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Prabhas-starrer Spirit, there has been a lot of conversation around the film industry being conducive to new working mothers, pay parity and more. Housefull 5 director Tarun Mansukhani thought he was speaking in support of Deepika's desire for an 8-hour work day when he said he'd also like to get home at a reasonable time to look after his dog. But the internet is miffed at him for comparing looking after a dog to a baby. (Also Read: Was Deepika Padukone ousted for demanding 10% profit share, ₹25 cr for Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit? New claims emerge) Last month, a Pinkvilla report claimed that Deepika turned down Spirit over disagreements about pay scale, Telugu dialogues, and bold scenes. But the one that caught everyone's attention was that the actor wanted to work a strict 8-hour schedule, because she had daughter Dua, who is less than a year old, to look after. While initially there were reports of her 'unprofessionalism', the Hindi film industry soon rallied in support of her with Ajay Devgn and Mani Ratnam supporting her desire for reasonable work hours. When Housefull 5 director Tarun was asked about it in an interview with India Today, he was supportive of Deepika and said that there were always ways to work around tight working hours. He also stated that whatever demands the actor has need to be mentioned in a contract beforehand, instead of being brought up last minute. He also said, 'I want to go home and spend time with my dog. So I get the vibe and totally get the feeling. But just put it in the contract from the beginning, then everyone's prepared,' drawing flak for it. The internet was not happy about Tarun comparing looking after a dog to a baby. One Redditor seemed stunned with the comparison, commenting, 'Is he comparing spending time with his dog with Deepika's newborn baby?' Another wrote, 'Male Mira Kapoor. Babies are puppies.' One person pointed out, 'Men: oh taking care of a kid is just like a pet be away from them even if you're missing them, don't worry about breastfeeding or any of your own maternal instincts. Also men: women should be at home and take care of their kids and clean the house what's wrong with these career-oriented women.' A miffed Redditor even called Tarun a 'manchild' writing, 'He's trying to become another manchild.. answer is very kidish.' Another thought the director's statement wasn't supportive at all and was instead a dig at Deepika, 'This guy comparing dogs with babies clearly doesn't understand the difference between want and need … obviously a dig at her.' A Redditor even wondered when new mothers will be shown grace, writing, 'She's a god damn mother, can we please cancel these unaware idiotic statement passing directors who wont show any grace towards a woman to recover post birth? JEEZ. THIS IS 21ST CENTURY FFS.' On Saturday, it was announced that Deepika will soon star in Atlee's film with Allu Arjun. The makers shared an announcement video that saw her pulling off stunts in a controlled environment.
