He added, 'There is a group of young actors whom I could shape in any way I wanted. They would also devote their time and energy to the project, which was an advantage I noticed before making the film. And everything turned out well."
Apart from Alappuzha Gymkhana, several other Malayalam films, including Padakkalam and Bazooka have also been released on OTT this week.

Around the same time, a 32-year-old junior artiste from Kerala, MF Kapil, drowned in the Souparnika river after being caught in a cross current. Last November, a minibus carrying 20 junior artistes met with an accident in Mudoor; though all escaped unhurt, it raised alarms over on-set safety.
