Some Disappointing News About The White Lotus Season 4's Release Date

Forbes07-04-2025

The White Lotus
The White Lotus aired its overstuffed 90 minute finale last night, with the anthology finishing up season 3 of a (mostly) disconnected series, minus a character or two, and the hotel chain itself.
It was never really a question that The White Lotus would get a season 4. That was already greenlit back in January of 2025. But the problem here is going to be when we actually see that season, based on production times. We can estimate the season 4 release date, or at least window, based on the past two season's gaps. So we have:
While the second season was only a breezy 1 year and 3 months after season 1, things really escalated with season 3, as that took nearly two and a half years (two years and four months). Using that same time period, that could mean The White Lotus season 4's release date may not arrive until April of 2027, which would be an extremely long time.
The other issue is that while some shows with early renewals manage to get production started while the current season is still airing, that's not even close to what's happening with The White Lotus. A Deadline interview reveals that the show was still at the basic step of scouting locations back in February, where it was said that the show will likely air in Europe, and more recently, creator Mike White said they want to get away from the 'crashing waves' the show has now employed across three tropical seasons now. It does seem like yes, it probably is a good time for a change.
The lengthy gap represents just how exhausting streaming production has become. Shows used to air every year like clockwork. Streaming has pushed in more toward 1.5 years at the very least. But the bigger the series, the longer we wait, two, two and a half even three years at times. The White Lotus is absolutely on the long end and these waits can seem interminable. Yes, it does build anticipation to some degree (season 3 was certainly an 'event' when it finally aired), but it comes at a cost.
We started getting casting information about The White Lotus season 3 as early as two full years ago, so at least in that sense we may not be waiting for news all that long. But the show? Yes, lots of waiting there.

‘Bridgerton' Actress Says 'He Messed With Wrong Girl' After Fighting Off Attacker Who Stole Her Phone

Bridgerton actress Genevieve Chenneour has described how she fought off a thief attempting to snatch her mobile phone in a central London cafe. The Daily Mail newspaper has published footage of the actress – who plays Miss Clara Livingston in the hit Netflix period drama – sitting with her dog in a cafe in West London, being approached by a man who picked up her phone from next to her on the counter. The footage of the incident – which took place in February – shows Chenneour realising what had happened and accosting her thief with several blows before she got her phone back. She later recounted the whole incident lasted about five minutes, with her attacker pinned to the floor for most of the time. Chenneour also had the help of another customer in the cafe. The actress said on TikToktold that the thief had 'messed with the wrong girl' and she ITV morning show This Morning: 'I had a bit of a sixth sense that something wasn't quite right, as woman you have that kind of intuition. 'I don't know if I would advise anybody else to do it. 'I think I have very quick reactions, thanks to having three brothers growing up and I'm an aviated carded boxer. I think it just was an instinct, I also do a lot of fight training for work and acting… 'I thought that was a normal reaction and I read all the comments [online] and realised, actually, a lot of people would just let them take the phone.' 'It kind of went round the corner and it turned into a full-on scrap with two people [Boulares and his accomplice]. 'And I was threatened with being stabbed so it became a real matter, in my mind, of life and death. 'So, I did things like, I remember kicking him back with my leg to create space in case he had a weapon on him… It was just a life-changing, crazy moment.' The thief – who has been named as Zacariah Boulares – previously attacked TV host Aled Jones for his Rolex watch in 2023, and was given a youth detention, serving 14 months. He has since turned 18, hence he is now able to be named. A police officer appearing alongside Chenneour on the TV show stressed that everyone should be aware of potential thieves in the city's popular spots, with mobile phone theft on the rise. Former Chief Superintendent Parm Sandu said: 'Genevieve was very brave and I commend her for that but I would not recommend anybody, anybody fights back. It just isn't worth it. You don't know what these people are carrying.' THE DISH: Wool Growers makes LA Times list of best restaurants in state

Bakersfield is back in the spotlight this week thanks to Wool Growers Restaurant. The longtime Basque eatery was named to the Los Angeles Times' 101 Best California Restaurants list. Restaurant critic Bill Addison doesn't mince words in reducing Bakersfield down culinarily to its rich Basque history. He writes that he passes through the area at least once a year, hitting up a couple of Basque spots to debate which sets the bar since the original Noriega Hotel, a James Beard Award-winning restaurant, closed in 2020. Addison gives the edge to the East 19th Street restaurant that has been in operation since 1954. He notes the fried chicken is a little juicier and more roundly garlicky, that meat tumbles off the bone in the hearty oxtail stew and the vinegar of the sliced pickled tongue "twangs like Parker Posey's North Carolina accent in 'The White Lotus.'" Salt is needed on the fries to make them great by his standards. (The hot salsa served with the opening courses also works well with the potatoes with fewer health concerns for diners, in my opinion.) Atmosphere and staff also earn his praise:" ... The beige floral wallpaper and the plastic table coverings over white tablecloths woozily blur the time-space continuum. I don't know quite where or when I am, but the friendly, fast-moving staff always seems glad I'm here." The critic also briefly acknowledges Pyrenees Cafe and The Sinking Ship for providing "outlandish, pirate-themed bliss." Two other Central Valley restaurants made the list: the new American-style spot Saizon in Fresno and Mi Ranchito Cafe in Stockton. Visit for the complete list. Additions for Father's Day Special offers and menus continue to be announced right up until the holiday. Here are a few that didn't make the list shared earlier this week. Can You Roast ... the Sun? Meghan Trainor, Marie Faustin and More Give it a Shot at a 'Sunhinged' Roast

The sun has roasted so many of us in the past ... but what if we roasted it right back? That was the thought behind hosting a roast of skincare trends and sins, which e.l.f. Skin did along with Marie Faustin, Heidi N. Closet, Meghan Trainor, Andrea Jin and Jon Rudnitsky, at their "Sunhinged" roast, premiering June 14 on YouTube.
