John Travolta revived one of his most iconic characters over the weekend, surprising crowds at the Hollywood Bowl with a cameo as Danny Zuko in the venue's singalong "Grease" event June 27.
Travolta, who played the greaser heartthrob in the original 1978 film, donned a leather jacket and slicked-back hair for the surprise appearance, delighting fans who themselves had dressed up for the occasion.
"Tonight at the Hollywood Bowl, for the first time I surprised everyone at the GREASE Sing-A-Long and dressed up as Danny Zuko," Travolta, 71, wrote on Instagram.

"No one knew. Not even the cast. Thank you for a great evening," he wrote, alongside a photo of him in full Zuko garb and a video of his appearance.
In the video, Travolta can be heard reciting some of Zuko's iconic lines in front of a roaring crowd, before instructing them to enjoy the show – a showing of "Grease" in which audience members are invited to sing along with the lyrics appearing on screen.

Travolta wasn't the only "Grease" star who dropped in for the Hollywood Bowl showing. Joining him on stage was the film's director Randal Kleiser alongside Didi Conn, Barry Pearl, Kelly Ward and Michael Tucci, all who played Zuko's fellow high schoolers in the hit movie musical.
Travolta's biggest name costar, Olivia Newton-John, died in 2022 after a battle with breast cancer.
"My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better," Travolta wrote in an Instagram post at the time. "Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!"

Prince Harry and Meghan's Netflix deal shrinks

Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, announced on Monday an extended partnership with Netflix, but the deal is a more modest version of the splashy agreement they previously inked. Why it matters: The new deal comes as their public profile as media moguls has fluctuated with mixed response on their shows. Zoom in: The previous deal from 2020 gave Netflix the exclusive rights to content from Archewell Productions, the couple's company. The new deal is a multi-year, first look agreement, meaning Netflix gets early access to Archewell's projects but isn't obligated to fund them. Archewell can then shop them elsewhere. Upcoming projects include season two and a holiday special of "With Love, Meghan" and a documentary short called "Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within." Catch up quick: Harry and Meghan launched Archewell Productions and signed the Netflix deal just six months after they left their official roles with the British royal family. A few months later, they signed an exclusive content deal with Spotify. The Spotify deal ended in 2023 and only included one series, Meghan's interview podcast called "Archetypes." Yes, but: While the Sussexes' media ventures have faced scrutiny, Meghan's commerce play has found traction. Products from her lifestyle brand "As Ever," launched in partnership with Netflix, sold out within an hour. Meghan as a product tastemaker appears to be resonating more than traditional media work. Her embrace of lighter and commerce-forward content, instead of progressive politics and activism, comes as that narrative has dulled and shifted in the post-pandemic Trump era and as consumers gravitate toward escapism and self-care. The big picture: The era of celebrity-backed production companies dominating the streaming wars is changing. As streaming companies become more frugal, celebrity storytelling no longer guarantees success. SpringHill, the media company co-founded by LeBron James, has been bleeding money, per Bloomberg. Higher Ground, the Obamas' production company, also transitioned to a first-look deal with Netflix last year. Streamers are choosing to spend big on sports rights. On Monday, Paramount announced it acquired the U.S. rights to Ultimate Fighting Championship. Netflix and ESPN both struck billion-dollar deals with the WWE.

Model branded ‘stupid' for bizarrely binding herself in a corset 23 hours a day to keep her 18-inch waist: ‘My body should be insured'

What a waist of money! A Miami model is being criticized for spending more than $1 million on cosmetic procedures to achieve one of the world's smallest waistlines at 18 inches — which she protects by wearing a corset for an astonishing 23 hours a day. Aleira Avendano, 33, has endured considerable backlash over her bizarre regimen — with trolls branding her body 'stupid.' 6 Avendano has been shrinking her waist by undergoing surgeries and wearing corsets for nearly two decades. Jam Press/@shotsdebianca/@aleiraoficial_sexy 'It's been a major investment — enhancements, treatments and healthy food,' Avendano, who only unbinds herself to shower, told NeedToKnow, calling her lengthy journey 'A huge commitment. Honestly, my body should be insured.' To complement her million-dollar middle, Avendano has spent an additional $638,000 on seven boob jobs, five nose jobs, butt implants and new teeth, over nearly two decades. 6 The model's innards have been twisted out of place due to her corset obsession. Jam Press/@shotsdebianca/@aleiraoficial_sexy But the cost of her jaw-dropping figure hasn't just taken a toll on her wallet. 'This is not just the result of hard work – [it is] often physically painful,' Avendano confessed, admitting that constantly wearing corsets has caused her organs to 'shift' and 'adjust' to the snug squeeze. And then there's the other major pain she faces — getting dressed. 6 Committed to turning heads with her narrow frame, Avendano claims the hardest part about having a small waist is finding cute clothes that fit properly. Jam Press/@aleiraoficial_sexy 6 The smoke-show promotes her corset waist-training technique to her more than 1 million social media followers. Jam Press/@aleiraoficial_sexy 6 Avendano before her belt-tightening era — a look she says she definitely doesn't miss. Jam Press/@shotsdebianca/@aleiraoficial_sexy 6 Avendano hopes to help women and men achieve her mind-blowing bod. Jam Press/@aleiraoficial_sexy 'I find it challenging when it comes to buying clothes, as nothing fits,' the yoga teacher groaned. 'My sizes are unique, and I have naturally wide hips,' she continued. 'So I have to have clothes custom-made for me.' And while she's routinely pelted with hate for her controversial curves, Avendano shrugs it off. 'I don't miss my old figure at all,' she insisted. 'People react in different ways,' said the content creator, with over 1.1 million Instagram subscribers. 'Some follow me, some feel nervous, and others admire me or see my body as something crazy.' 'Men can't get enough of my exotic figure,' she bragged. 'I love it. I am one-of-a-kind now.' Barely-there bellies are hotly en vogue thanks to VIP voluptuaries à la Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, leaders in the corset-fashion charge. But the vixen encourages copycats to tread lightly. She suggests folks begin strapping into the shapewear for just six hours per day, slowly increasing the wear-time up to two hours each week. Avendano is poised to launch a line of corsets and shapewear so that 'people all over the world can achieve a similar figure with time and discipline.'

LeBron James ‘addicted' to new hobby amid rocky Lakers offseason

He's not the first all-time great to hit the greens. Lakers superstar LeBron James posted on social media that he has a new addiction that has claimed many before him: golf. 'Addicted. I'm sorry. I know, yep, that's it. Yep. Rain and everything,' James said on his Instagram Story as the weather conditions worsened. Advertisement James, who was recently seen in St. Tropez with his wife, Savannah, wasn't getting excellent sunlight as rain poured down, but he continued to fight through and prepped to tee off. There has been some apparent tension between the Lakers and the 40-year-old James this offseason, as the franchise has gone all-in on new star Luka Doncic, whom they recently signed to a three-year, $165 million contract extension. When James exercised his player option for the 2025-26 season, his agent, Rich Paul, alluded to a potential trade request by reinforcing James' desire to compete for a championship next season. NBAE via Getty Images There were also conflicting reports about how James found out about Jeanie Buss reaching a $10 billion deal to sell the Lakers and whether informing Doncic was prioritized. Paul confirmed other teams had reached out to him regarding the possibility of a James trade, but for now, it appears the 21-time All-Star — whose son Bronny is entering his second year with the Lakers — will remain in purple and gold. James had played golf in the past, getting made fun of by Olympic teammate and friend, Stephen Curry, for having a baseball-like swing. 'Unbelievable impersonation of my guy [LeBron James] Bron's follow-through in the golf swing,' Curry joked in July. 'But we all want to welcome Lebron James to the world of golf because the game needs you, big fella.' Instagram, @KingJames James will need some practice, but perhaps he can improve after his NBA career is complete and do a match opposite Michael Jordan. The Bulls legend was a notorious golfer who sometimes played before games and surely would have an edge. Many other NBA players, past and present, went into golf as an outlet for their competitive energy, with others including Charles Barkley, Chris Paul, and many more.
