Model branded ‘stupid' for bizarrely binding herself in a corset 23 hours a day to keep her 18-inch waist: ‘My body should be insured'
A Miami model is being criticized for spending more than $1 million on cosmetic procedures to achieve one of the world's smallest waistlines at 18 inches — which she protects by wearing a corset for an astonishing 23 hours a day.
Aleira Avendano, 33, has endured considerable backlash over her bizarre regimen — with trolls branding her body 'stupid.'
6 Avendano has been shrinking her waist by undergoing surgeries and wearing corsets for nearly two decades.

'It's been a major investment — enhancements, treatments and healthy food,' Avendano, who only unbinds herself to shower, told NeedToKnow, calling her lengthy journey 'A huge commitment. Honestly, my body should be insured.'
To complement her million-dollar middle, Avendano has spent an additional $638,000 on seven boob jobs, five nose jobs, butt implants and new teeth, over nearly two decades.
6 The model's innards have been twisted out of place due to her corset obsession.

But the cost of her jaw-dropping figure hasn't just taken a toll on her wallet.
'This is not just the result of hard work – [it is] often physically painful,' Avendano confessed, admitting that constantly wearing corsets has caused her organs to 'shift' and 'adjust' to the snug squeeze.
And then there's the other major pain she faces — getting dressed.
6 Committed to turning heads with her narrow frame, Avendano claims the hardest part about having a small waist is finding cute clothes that fit properly.

'I find it challenging when it comes to buying clothes, as nothing fits,' the yoga teacher groaned.
'My sizes are unique, and I have naturally wide hips,' she continued. 'So I have to have clothes custom-made for me.'
And while she's routinely pelted with hate for her controversial curves, Avendano shrugs it off. 'I don't miss my old figure at all,' she insisted.
'People react in different ways,' said the content creator, with over 1.1 million Instagram subscribers. 'Some follow me, some feel nervous, and others admire me or see my body as something crazy.'
'Men can't get enough of my exotic figure,' she bragged. 'I love it. I am one-of-a-kind now.'
Barely-there bellies are hotly en vogue thanks to VIP voluptuaries à la Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, leaders in the corset-fashion charge.
But the vixen encourages copycats to tread lightly. She suggests folks begin strapping into the shapewear for just six hours per day, slowly increasing the wear-time up to two hours each week.
Avendano is poised to launch a line of corsets and shapewear so that 'people all over the world can achieve a similar figure with time and discipline.'

A look at how big of a hit Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift scored with their podcast teaser
The Taylor Swift effect has hit the podcast world. The pop star plans to make a rare appearance on Wednesday on the "New Heights" podcast, which is cohosted by her boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce. As it turns out, dating one of the world's most famous people can have a profound effect on your brand's reach. Engagement with the podcast's posts soared on Instagram Tuesday. Swift coupled her own 280 million-strong Instagram following with Kelce's podcast audience to announce her twelfth studio album, "The Life of a Showgirl," in an Instagram post at midnight on Tuesday. Less than 12 hours later, that post by the "New Heights" account hit 4.5 million likes and had an engagement rate of 145%, according to data from social media management platform Metricool. Metricool measures engagement based on the total number of likes and comments a post receives compared to the number of followers the account has at the time of posting. The "New Heights" account had about 3.1 million followers. View this post on Instagram A post shared by New Heights (@newheightshow) A typical Instagram post has an average engagement rate between 0.5% and 0.69%, depending on whether it's a reel, video, or carousel post, Metricool told Business Insider. Swift and Kelce's teaser posts for their podcast episode blew those stats out of the water. Another teaser from "New Heights" that wasn't cross-posted to Swift's large following raked in over 1.7 million likes and more than 60,000 comments as of Tuesday afternoon — with a 54% engagement rate based on the podcast's following. "New Heights" isn't the only podcast getting a Swift bump on social media. Alex Cooper's "Call Her Daddy" podcast teased a mystery guest on its account a few hours before the "New Heights" announcement. The comments included hopeful Swifties, who pushed the post's engagement to 2.46%. The show hasn't yet revealed its surprise guest. Swift's interview with Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce on "New Heights" is set to air on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET. The show is no stranger to A-listers. LeBron James appeared on the show in January, and the Instagram announcement of his appearance received over 600,000 likes. But Swift doesn't frequently go on podcasts, and her appearance could take the show into another stratosphere. "Taylor's about to do a f*cking podcast," the caption on Tuesday's Instagram teaser read.

Sha'Carri Richardson Speaks Out After Domestic Violence Arrest: 'I Refuse To Run Away'
Sha'Carri Richardson broke her silence after being arrested and accused of domestic violence. In a video message shared to her Instagram story on Monday night (Aug. 11), the 25-year-old explained her plans to hold herself 'accountable' following the public incident in which the athlete was taken into custody during an airport encounter with her boyfriend, track star Christian Coleman. 'Hey y'all, it's Shacarri. More than anything, definitely a lot of self-reflection, a lot of understanding of not only putting myself in a compromising situation with somebody that I have a deep care and appreciation for as well, is something that — holding myself accountable,' detailed the Olympic medalist in the 24-hour-timed upload viewed by VIBE. 'I see myself. I'm taking this time to not only see myself but get myself a certain level of help that overall is going to reflect who I truly am in my heart and in my spirit, and not allowing this moment, but accepting this moment to be more.' 'So my only thing is, I want to be more — not just only for myself, for my family, my fans. I overly appreciate y'all supporting me and showing up, and even holding me accountable to being my best self. So more than anything, I refuse to run away … but face everything that comes to me head-on because everything on the other side is greater, but you gotta go through in order to get there,' she continued. 'I'm Sha'Carri y'all. I appreciate y'all. One love. Much love. Y'all be blessed.' On Tuesday morning, she followed the video message with words directed to Coleman. 'I apologize to Christian,' she declared. 'He came into my life and gave me more than a relationship but a greater understanding of unconditional love from what I've experienced in my past. Due to my past trauma and pain. I was blind and blocked off to not only receive it but give it.' The message continued to read, 'I love him and to him I can't apologize enough. My apologize should be as loud as my actions, honestly louder. To Christian, I love you and I am so sorry.' After news broke of the arrest, Coleman immediately offered support for Richardson. As previously reported, he declined to press charges and informed police officers that he did not want to be considered a victim. 'For me personally, I feel like it was a sucky situation all around,' Coleman explained. 'I don't feel like she should have been arrested. I mean, people have discussions and emotions and stuff like that. She has things that she needs to work on for herself, of course. So do I, so do you, so does everybody. But I'm the type of guy who's in the business of extending grace, and mercy, and love.' 'I hate the narrative, too. It's so negative… She's a human being and a great person. We've been able to be really good teammates all year… She's to me, she's the best female athlete in the world. I see it every day.' In surveillance footage from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Richardson is seen shoving Coleman near a TSA Checkpoint, which resulted in law enforcement intervening. Following the incident, she was taken into custody and held for nearly 19 hours at the SCORE South Correctional Facility in Des Moines, Washington. VIBE has reached out to Richardson's team for a statement.
