Chris Martin Just Wore a Telling Accessory Amid First Outing Since Dakota Johnson Split

Yahoo6 hours ago

As we mourn the iconic relationship between Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin ending, it seems both of them are keeping busy. Johnson has been everywhere promoting her new movie The Materialists, and as for Martin, he just made an appearance.
On June 16, Martin made his first public appearance since the news of his and Johnson's reported breakup went public. He was out and about in NYC with his and Gwyneth Paltrow's son, Moses Martin, in photos obtained by E! Online. The Coldplay frontman wore an all-black outfit composed of a black T-shirt, matching blazer, pants, and aviator sunglasses. However, he was also wearing a certain accessory that may confirm the news.

He's wearing a Farsi calligraphy charm necklace, specifically with the charm being a 'Baaraye' or 'Azadi' necklace, which is Farsi for 'freedom.'
Now, wearing a necklace that symbolizes freedom after a breakup is quite telling on its own, but there's one more detail we gotta talk about. It seems as though he started wearing this necklace in the summer of 2024, which is when the breakup rumors were first running rampant with the pair.
So, overall, this necklace is the center of a lot of questions right now.
For those who don't know, Johnson and Martin started dating in 2017 after being set up by mutual friends, and seven years later. They didn't confirm their relationship until a year later, and they moved in together in 2021. There was a rumor that they briefly broke up in the summer of 2019, but quickly reconciled.
While we don't know the exact time they got engaged, many sources claim it was years ago, but the two weren't too eager to set a date. They were plagued with breakup rumors again inthe summer of 2024, as we said previously.
Sadly, Martin and Johnson have seemingly called it quits for good in June 2025. A source spoke to The Sun about what led to their recent breakup, saying, 'They really tried to work through their issues but the age gap was often a problem and she'd expressed that she may want children in the future, whereas Chris is kind of done with that part of his life but they discussed it.'Best of SheKnows

From Galveston to the Fillmore: The man who brought Juneteenth to SF

In 1945, Texas native Wesley Johnson Sr. donned his signature white Stetson cowboy hat and rode his white stallion through city streets, inviting passersby to join in Juneteenth festivities at his nightclub in the Fillmore. Why it matters: It marked the first of what would become one of the longest continuously running Juneteenth celebrations in America. Flashback: Johnson was born in Galveston, Texas, where Juneteenth celebrations began in 1865 when the last enslaved people in Texas learned about their freedom under the Emancipation Proclamation. He moved to the city with his family as a teenager after World War I. After graduating from San Francisco State College (now SFSU), where he started one of the first student organizations for African Americans, he became a successful entrepreneur on the commercial corridor of the Fillmore, then known as the "Harlem of the West." Between the lines: Johnson, who ran the thriving jazz club Texas Playhouse and was later nicknamed the godfather of Juneteenth in San Francisco, wanted to put the city on the map as a hub for Black culture, freedom and community. Annual Juneteenth parades, which he led as grand marshal until the late 1980s, reflected that spirit and paid homage to their community's resilience. What they're saying:"Everybody came with this allure and this air of excellence and pride — and he would not have it any other way," Melina Jones, who has served on the committee for SF's Juneteenth parade and festival, said in a 2024 look back at Johnson's legacy for SFSU.

Family time is important for Drew Scott and Linda Phan. They just shared some of their sweetest summer memories with their toddlers Parker, 3, and Piper, 1, and we are taking notes! The Property Brothers co-host shared several photos and videos of his family's adorable adventures so far this summer on Instagram. 'Our quality time with the kiddos is all about shared experiences,' he wrote. 'We limit screen exposure in our house to only a couple times a week. And even when watching Bluey or Ms. Rachel, they always encourage kids to dance, sing, play and just experience life!' More from SheKnows Busy Philipps Shares the 'Best Advice' Michelle Williams Gave Her for Parenting Teens & We're Taking Notes He shared some of their favorite things to do lately, which includes exploring museums and aquariums because 'Parker is OBSESSED with sharks.' Scott holds up Parker to see some cool interactive displays at a museum in one picture, and a clip of Parker watching a shark swim at an aquarium. There is also a photo collage of Parker and Piper watching puppet and magic shows. 'I love seeing their little faces light up when @rikemind and @realfunnyeddie do their thing,' the HGTV star wrote. So sweet! Other pictures included swimming, watching table tennis matches, and going on nature walks. But one of the coolest? Family jam sessions! There are tons of pictures of Parker and Piper playing with toy instruments and real instruments, like a huge harp! A video of Parker playing the piano and a clip of Piper dancing to someone playing guitar and playing the accordion shows their budding talent. 'My dad plays guitar and so do I,' Scott wrote. 'Parker has been gravitating toward piano (shoutout to Reese Massey at @rhodesschoolofmusic) and Piper loves her little accordion, so we're well on our way to one big Scott Family Band!' 'Creating memories ❤️❤️,' one person commented. This family is so adorable, and it looks like these two are having the greatest summer now! Last month, Scott revealed his son's most unhinged behavior: 'Parker went through a phase where he was making out with the mirror,' he wrote on Instagram, adding, 'Now Piper's started the same 😳 🤣.' That's definitely wild! He also asked followers to share their toddlers' behaviors, and the comments didn't disappoint. 'As soon as my husband's hairy legs are exposed, my daughter calls them 'kitties' and tries to pet and kiss them 😂,' one person wrote. Another said, 'Washing his face with toilet water 🫠🫠🫠🫠' Kids definitely keep life interesting!Best of SheKnows These Podcasts for Parents of Teens Will Make You Feel Seen These Hot Famous Dads Are Making Fatherhood Look Finer Than Ever 36 Times Prince Louis Proved That the Third Child Is a Wild Card

Busy Philipps Shares the 'Best Advice' Michelle Williams Gave Her for Parenting Teens & We're Taking Notes

Busy Philipps has best friend Michelle Williams to thank for 'the best advice' for getting through her daughters' teen years. In an interview with SheKnows, the Busy This Week host revealed her longtime friend and former Dawson's Creek co-star's wise words, saying, 'The best piece of parenting advice I ever received was actually from my best friend, Michelle Williams, that when you have to have a really uncomfortable conversation with your kids, do it in the car.' More from SheKnows Frances Bean Cobain's Father's Day Post Spotlights a Sweet Pattern in Her & Husband Riley Hawk's Family Photos 'Because they're trapped and you're trapped, and you can also just focus on the road, and they don't have to look at you if they're embarrassed.' Williams is a mom to 19-year-old Matilda with her late ex, Heath Ledger, as well as sharing three younger children with her now-husband, Thomas Kail. Philipps, meanwhile, is a mom to 16-year-old daughter Birdie and 11-year-old daughter Cricket with her ex-husband Marc Silverstein. So it's safe to say that she's looking to Williams for help with parenting teens! Philipps also opened up about some of the challenges of raising her daughters, saying, 'It's really hard. Just knowing and trusting that you've done the job that you needed to do, so that they are safe and make good choices, and if they don't that they feel like they can either come to you or somebody close.' Philipps and Williams met in 2001 when Philipps was cast as Audrey Liddell in Dawson's Creek. Fans of the teen show will remember that Williams played Jen Lindley for all six seasons. The duo recently opened up about their first time meeting in a May 21 episode of Philipps' QVC+ show. 'My entire life I've always been like, misunderstood and prejudged by people,' Philipps said. 'And for whatever reason, you just instantly were like, 'I got you.'' 'I loved you,' Williams added 'We just know each other and get each other in such a deep, fundamental way at this point,' Philipps told Page Six of their friendship in a March interview, adding that they've 'been there' for each other 'through so many different moments in each other's lives.' 'When you have a friend like that, you're blessed,' she told the outlet. 'That's all you can really ever hope for in this life.'Best of SheKnows These Podcasts for Parents of Teens Will Make You Feel Seen These Hot Famous Dads Are Making Fatherhood Look Finer Than Ever 36 Times Prince Louis Proved That the Third Child Is a Wild Card
