Busy Philipps Shares the 'Best Advice' Michelle Williams Gave Her for Parenting Teens & We're Taking Notes
In an interview with SheKnows, the Busy This Week host revealed her longtime friend and former Dawson's Creek co-star's wise words, saying, 'The best piece of parenting advice I ever received was actually from my best friend, Michelle Williams, that when you have to have a really uncomfortable conversation with your kids, do it in the car.'

'Because they're trapped and you're trapped, and you can also just focus on the road, and they don't have to look at you if they're embarrassed.'
Williams is a mom to 19-year-old Matilda with her late ex, Heath Ledger, as well as sharing three younger children with her now-husband, Thomas Kail.
Philipps, meanwhile, is a mom to 16-year-old daughter Birdie and 11-year-old daughter Cricket with her ex-husband Marc Silverstein. So it's safe to say that she's looking to Williams for help with parenting teens!
Philipps also opened up about some of the challenges of raising her daughters, saying, 'It's really hard. Just knowing and trusting that you've done the job that you needed to do, so that they are safe and make good choices, and if they don't that they feel like they can either come to you or somebody close.'
Philipps and Williams met in 2001 when Philipps was cast as Audrey Liddell in Dawson's Creek. Fans of the teen show will remember that Williams played Jen Lindley for all six seasons. The duo recently opened up about their first time meeting in a May 21 episode of Philipps' QVC+ show.
'My entire life I've always been like, misunderstood and prejudged by people,' Philipps said. 'And for whatever reason, you just instantly were like, 'I got you.''
'I loved you,' Williams added
'We just know each other and get each other in such a deep, fundamental way at this point,' Philipps told Page Six of their friendship in a March interview, adding that they've 'been there' for each other 'through so many different moments in each other's lives.'
'When you have a friend like that, you're blessed,' she told the outlet. 'That's all you can really ever hope for in this life.'Best of SheKnows

Katie Holmes Rare Photo With Suri Cruise
Suri Cruise is all grown up, and she's a spitting image of her mother. The 19-year-old was spotted alongside her mom, Katie Holmes, during a visit to New York City. Suri's dad is Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise. Katie was on the set of the upcoming movie Happy Hours, which she's directing and starring in with her Dawson's Creek costar Joshua Jackson, when she was captured strolling down the sidewalk with her daughter. This marks a very rare sighting of Suri, who reportedly opted to use Noelle, her mother's middle name, instead of her dad's surname at her high school graduation just last year. Suri was seen wearing a white tank top and baggy pants with red shoes. Katie was dressed in a multi-colored robe and blue pants, possibly preparing for filming. Katie has kept Suri out of the spotlight for years since finalizing her divorce from Tom in 2012 after five years of marriage. Last year, Katie had to challenge unsubstantiated reports about her daughter, who's attending Carnegie Mellon University, and her alleged trust fund. In 2023, Katie shared with Glamour how she prioritized her daughter's wellbeing. "What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her," Katie said. "I'm very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She's an incredible person."

Paulina Porizkova Shows the Reality of Her Body With a Candid Bikini Photo: ‘This Is 60'
Paulina Porizkova sure knows how to make the reality of aging comforting. Despite her supermodel career, she's just like us! In a July 28 Instagram post, the 60-year-old fashionista showed two snapshots that emphasized how lighting and what we are going through in life can make a difference. The first photo was gorgeously lit as Porizkova hit all the right angles in a tiny white bikini as the sun set in the background — she looked natural and pretty. The second image features her in a flesh-tone bra and panties set with overhead fluorescent lighting that is flattering to absolutely no one. She's proving we can all be both images at the same time. (You can see the photo here.) More from SheKnows At 60, Paulina Porizkova Is Done Dimming Her Light for Love & Her Fiancé Is All for It As always, her caption provided the wisdom we all needed to hear. 'This is me,' Porizkova wrote. 'Vacation, pretty light, posing for a shot. This is also me. Home, not great light, not posing. This is 60.' She continued, 'This is 60 years of sometimes healthy eating, sometimes not. 60 years of sometimes working out, sometimes not. 60 years of doing the right things, followed by doing the wrong things, and over again and again. It's 60 years of learning of what works and what doesn't. And just as I think I've figured it out, everything changes, and I have to start again.' Porizkova then summed up with a quote we should keep nearby anytime self-doubts creep in. She added, 'The beauty of 60 is that now I understand the importance is IN the lesson, not passing the exam.' She has had one of the most successful modeling careers, but Porizkova is also experiencing changes in her body — and she's learned to artfully accept the beauty of what she's accomplished. From walking down the runway around the world to birthing two sons, Porizkova is honoring the body she was given. Porizkova also offered Harper's Bazaar sage advice in April for anyone who is fearing the aging process because in the end, it's the intangible things that 'matter' the most. 'The best part is that you finally turn into the person that you were meant to be all along,' she said. 'And perhaps that's not always a happy finding. But I think if you try to live your life with an understanding that other people matter, that connections matter, and that love matters, then you won't be disappointed with who that person is that you truly are.'Best of SheKnows Tom Cruise's Full Dating History Is Filled With Many A-List Women Who Is Pamela Anderson Dating? Paulina Porizkova Shatters the 'Aging Is Easy' Myth With Raw Honesty
Is there anything worse than when your phone's camera opens up in selfie mode, revealing that under-the-chin view? Well, Paulina Porizkova is telling the truth. She shared a very quick clip on her Instagram feed on Aug. 5, showing that 'unflattering angle' while trying to take a scenic photo with her fiancé Jeff Greenstein. She wrote, 'Oh… Oops!' on the video, and of course, offered all of her followers some wisdom about the moment. More from SheKnows Kai Trump's 2021 Instagram Post Is Basically a Prequel to Her Mom's Tiger Woods Romance 'You know, that spectacularly unflattering angle when you're looking down at your phone, and accidentally film yourself,' she said in the caption. 'So much for 'Oh, aging is easy for you, Miss Supermodel.' 😉' She 'bows' down to 'those who have never cared what they look like, spent a lifetime pursuing noble goals, and are in perfect health' because they are 'karmically waaaay ahead of' her. Even though she's at the 'happiest' time of her life, she has to reconcile with the fact that she looks different than the height of her supermodel career. Yes, aging is a 'privilege,' but she also struggles with her physical looks from time to time. 'For the rest of us: I love my age. I'm the happiest I've ever been. I wouldn't trade it for any other age,' she added. 'BUT – having relied on my looks for most of my life as a part of my personality, this physically aging stuff demands an inner courage I'm still working on. It's work. But… It is also a privilege of which I am absolutely conscious and grateful.' Porizkova recently got engaged to Greenstein in Nice, France, in July, and she's still gushing about their love for each other. 'Two and a half years on, we still crack each other up,' she remarked in a July 25 social media post. 'All the time. He has an Emmy for being funny. We all know I do not. But he believes I'm funny. He laughs at my jokes. He tells me I'm funny. He makes me feel an equal partner at all times.' Porizkova was married to Cars lead singer, Ric Ocasek, from 1989 to 2017, and they shared two sons: Jonathan Raven Ocasek, 31, and Oliver Ocasek, 27. He died in 2019 before they ever filed for divorce, but it was a difficult relationship for her. 'He didn't want me to do anything,' Porizkova said on The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet podcast in November 2021. 'He didn't want me to go anywhere. He wanted me to be within his circle at all times. I was his sole emotional provider for everything, and I confused that with love. It was a collective thing that just stuck with me forever, and I still feel that way, which, of course, is remarkable that me, a self-proclaimed feminist, goes and marries a guy who tells her how to dress.'Best of SheKnows Katy Perry Complete Dating History & Exes: Orlando Bloom, Justin Trudeau & More A Look Back at Martha Stewart's Incredible Life, From Her Early Modeling Career to Her Media Empire at 84 Join These 10 Celebrity Book Clubs & Read Along with Your Favorite Stars Solve the daily Crossword
