PM Modi will boost Bihar's development, economy: BJP leaders
While the BJP has described the visit as a significant moment for Bihar's development, Opposition leaders have criticised the timing of the announcements, calling them politically-motivated promises ahead of the elections.
Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh, addressing media persons, linked the Prime Minister's arrival to a spiritual and patriotic cause apart from development.
'This yagya is being performed for Maa Lalita. Prime Minister Modi is coming, and prayers are being offered for the success of 'Operation Sindoor', where the enemy was defeated,' Singh said, invoking religious and nationalistic tones.
He further added that PM Modi's visit is proof of his commitment to Bihar's development.
'People ask why does PM Modi come to Bihar. It is because the double-engine government is doing the development of the state under PM Modi's leadership. In Lalu Prasad's era, it took 5 hours to travel from Patna to Buxar. Today it takes just 2 hours. Begusarai to Patna now takes just 1.5 hours. Those who cannot see development should change their glasses,' Singh said.
BJP's Bihar President, Dilip Jaiswal, expressed enthusiasm ahead of the PM's visit. In a symbolic gesture, he sang a few lines from a Bollywood song: 'The moment I was waiting for, the moment for which my heart was restless, that moment has arrived… Patna is ready to welcome PM Modi.'
According to Jaiswal, the capital city is fully prepared for PM Modi's arrival, with extensive arrangements and a warm public reception anticipated.
Meanwhile, Congress MLA Ajit Sharma has strongly criticised the timing of the PM's visit and his announcements, calling them election stunts.
'Why does the Prime Minister make big announcements only during elections? PM Modi said he would create employment but hasn't delivered a single job. Inflation is sky-high, and the promises remain unfulfilled,' Sharma said.
He accused PM Modi of 'fooling the public' with last-minute declarations.
'PM Modi had come to Bhagalpur, too, and made big promises to farmers. These announcements remain on paper. If work was really being done, there would be no need for such announcements during elections,' Sharma added.

3.123-acre amenity space to be developed into public garden in Mohammadwadi-Undri
A 3.123-acre (approximately 12,635.86 square metre) land parcel is set to be developed into a state-of-the-art public garden in the wake of demands from the residents of Mohammed Wadi and Undri. (HT PHOTO) Recently, residents led by the Mohammadwadi-Undri Residents' Welfare Development Foundation (MURWDF) met Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) commissioner Naval Kishore Ram to draw his attention to the lack of a public park in the area. Responding to the residents' appeal, commissioner Ram assured them that the garden project would move forward. Once completed, the it would provide much-needed green space and recreational facilities for the growing population of these neighbourhoods. Commissioner Ram said, 'We are positively considering the proposal, and the residents have submitted their demands to the concerned department.' Not very long ago, the residents of Mohammadwadi and Undri visited the aforementioned plot of land only to find that it was being misused as a dumping ground for cement-concrete waste by private developers. With no security or surveillance in place, locals expressed concern over the PMC's failure at protecting the land. 'Indiscriminate dumping of cement waste, loose gravel, and stones is taking place in clear violation of the Environmental Protection Act. The PMC's approach has been alarmingly casual,' said Sunil Aiyer, a member of the MURWF. Following the visit, the residents demanded that the said plot, located in survey numbers 4 (part) and 21 (part), be secured using CCTV cameras and guarded properly. 'Since the MURWDF has a long-term vision for the next 50 years, a public park has been proposed and commissioner Ram has responded positively to our request,' Aiyer said. The MURWDF then called for immediate cleanup and development of the site into a community park named 'Sindoor Smriti Vatika' as a tribute to the armed forces. The MURWDF – representing over 20 housing societies in Mohammed Wadi and Undri – even submitted a formal petition to the PMC, highlighting the lack of a public park in the area and urging that the same be developed. The petition specifically requested the PMC to consider developing a park on the said amenity plot currently owned by the PMC. The MURWDF emphasised that this land be preserved for community use in keeping with the purpose for which it was reserved. The foundation stressed that a well-planned public garden would serve thousands of citizens, improve the liveability quotient of the area, and align with the PMC's green development goals. Sunil Koloti, director, MURWDF, said, 'We proposed that this amenity space be developed as 'Sindoor Smriti Vatika' as a tribute to 'Operation Sindoor' and the selfless service of our armed forces. It will serve both as a memorial and a much-needed green space for public wellbeing.'

The plan is proposed to be executed under the formula of 'one-booth-ten-youth'—meaning 10 young workers per booth. With UP comprising around 1.65 lakh polling booths, the strength of new workers could potentially rise by at least 16 lakhs. During a recent organisational meeting attended by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the party leadership pressed on the need of enrolling at least 100 youth in every booth and around 15,000 youth in each assembly seat. Delisting of converted tribals may jeopardise TSP areas, say leaders
