I want to talk to both of the Texans' rookie wide receivers.
And I, I do want to talk to both of them here, right?
I'm really curious what you think about this situation because, in preseason, uh, it has been Xavier Hutchinson running as the flanker receiver with Christian Kirk in on the slot and Nico Collins obviously at X.
And when they go to two receiver sets, it's been Christian Kirk as the second outside receiver.
So right now, honestly, even though Jayden Higgins is getting drafted, I don't think either of these two guys are gonna have a big week one role.
But it's a long season, man, and like Xavier Hutchinson is a nice role player, but not somebody that you want to rely on.
They want one of these two rookies to pop at some point this year.
And this is an offense that I think is gonna be much better this year.
I, I know the offensive line talent is still a question.
But I just think them getting some real coaching in here, getting the pass protection rules right is more important than getting five superstars on the offensive line.
CJ Stroud having more control at the line of scrimmage is a very under-discussed story in the fantasy space.
That's gonna help a lot, again, from a protection standpoint, him being able to ID things, call things out, be that kind of sheriff at the line of scrimmage.
Not every quarterback needs to be the cookie cutter, Shanahan-like quarterback.
I think Stroud's gonna thrive with more control at the line of scrimmage because he's so smart, he makes good decisions.
He's a football junkie, and he's accurate and he's on time with everything.
So this is an offense I want to invest in.
And even if Jayden Higgins starts to see, this is the thing that's interesting to me.
Is that Higgins, in a weird way, because they were using him at X receiver when Nico Collins wasn't playing, and I think, I actually think he would.
If he is an X receiver, he's gonna help Nico move around, which is important to me, but also, I think he should probably play as like a jumbo flanker slot player.
But I don't want to forget about Jaylen Noel here.
Like Jaylen Noel is a badass, man.
Like I, I think one of these two Texas receivers is gonna pop this year.
You don't need to necessarily draft them.
You need to maybe keep them kind of um, in the back of your mind if one of them starts to play more.
And I just think the odds that it's Noel instead of Higgins are pretty even, and it's not discussed that way in the fantasy football space.

Giants-Patriots, preseason Week 3: Live updates

Pre-game updates This might be Tommy DeVito's swan song as a Giant this evening. I would expect whatever crowd there is at MetLife Stadium to show him some love. Want a hint who will/will not make the roster? Watch the playing time, especially look for the guys who don't get in until near the end of the game, or don't get in at all. They will likely be getting their walking papers soon. I'd expect a decent amount of Jaxson Dart. After this game, we probably won't see the rookie quarterback for a while. I know many are looking forward to seeing Cam Skattebo tonight. I doubt he plays much, if at all. The Giants won't gamble with his troublesome hamstring. I still don't have a good read on the last couple of roster spots at cornerback or wide receiver. Let's see what happens against the Patriots. The New York Giants host the New England Patriots Thursday night at MetLife Stadium in the preseason finale for both teams. The 2-0 Giants will be seeking a perfect preseason. Kickoff will be at 8 p.m. ET, with the game broadcast nationally on Amazon Prime and locally on NBC-4 New York. Giants coach Brian Daboll did not indicate during the week whether or not healthy front-line players would play in the game. The Giants have personnel decisions to make all across the roster with cutdowns from 90 players to 53 needing to be made by Tuesday, Aug. 26. What happens Thursday night will likely impact several of those decisions. 'This week will be important for a lot of guys,' Daboll said. One player likely to see at least some action is rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. With Russell Wilson being the Week 1 starter, this could be the last opportunity for a long while for the Giants to Dart, the No. 25 pick in the draft, competitive reps. You have to believe they will.

Ex-champ Sean O'Malley predicts Cory Sandhagen vs. 'savage' Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 320

Sean O'Malley gives Cory Sandhagen a chance to dethrone Merab Dvalishvili. O'Malley (18-3 MMA, 10-3 UFC) is coming off back-to-back title losses to bantamweight champion Dvalishvili (20-4 MMA, 13-2 UFC), most recently getting submitted at UFC 316 in June. Dvalishvili will make a less than four-month turnaround to defend his belt against Sandhagen (18-5 MMA, 11-4 UFC) in the UFC 320 main event on Oct. 4 in Las Vegas, his third title defense of the year. "The dude jumped into a frozen lake on top of his head; not surprised that he's fighting back-to-back-to-back times," O'Malley told MMA Junkie of Dvalishvili. "He's a savage. He's built for fighting, and why not take advantage of it? Not surprised at all." According to BetMGM, Sandhagen is a +275 betting underdog against the champion, who is a -350 favorite. O'Malley thinks Sandhagen's well-rounded skillset could surprise Dvalishvili. "Merab is improving each fight, but he's still – to this day, I watch him and I'm like, 'God, I know I can knock this motherf*cker out,'" O'Malley said. "He's sloppy in certain positions and he's beatable. He's definitely beatable and you can't count Cory out. "Cory is one of the most skilled guys in the UFC, not just in the bantamweight division. You can't count Cory out. I'm very curious to see how that fight plays out, what happens if Merab gets a hold of Cory. Merab felt super strong, so I'm curious to see what kind of scrambles Cory can create and if he can give him any trouble." 49ers Fans Fired Up Over Christian McCaffrey's New Post

Christian McCaffrey had a forgettable season with the San Francisco 49ers last year. After missing the first half of the campaign due to a calf strain, the two-time All-Pro running back finally made his season debut in Week 10. McCaffrey's run ended, however, after just four games, because the three-time Pro Bowler suffered a season-ending PCL 29-year-old has since been putting in a lot of work behind the scenes ahead of what he's hoping will be a bounce-back year in 2025. On Monday, McCaffrey had Niners fans all fired up after he shared a few photos of his work during the offseason. Supporters of the 49ers could not help but get excited for what's ahead.'locked in cmc gonna be a force to be reckoned with 🔥🔥' a comment on Instagram read.'RB1 🔥 how quickly they forgot,' another said.'comeback player of the year loading🏆' declared a user. 'Sliding this season to a Lombardi trophy🔥🔥🔥🔥' a reaction read.'OK CMC GO GET WHATS YOURS DOG,' said another.'Comeback season 🔥' a fan wrote. McCaffrey was heartbroken after his season came to an abrupt and unfortunate end last term, and the fans shared the exact same sentiment as well. This is exactly why there's a lot of excitement surrounding his return in 2025. McCaffrey, who saw the birth of his first child with his wife Olivia Culpo during the offseason, did not suit up for San Francisco's preseason opener when they suffered a 30-9 loss to the Denver Broncos on August 9. He was, however, a 'full-go' at training camp, and head coach Kyle Shanahan expects McCaffrey to be ready for their Week 1 matchup against the Seattle long as he is able to remain healthy, 2025 could be a big year for story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Aug 18, 2025, where it first appeared in the NFL section.
