(Though we don't necessarily condone breaking into your ex's apartment or discussing UTIs at your boss's dinner party.) But beware: It's definitely possible to hit the oversaturation point this summer. Once Mercury is in retrograde, endearing traits can suddenly feel performative. Behaviours that once garnered rave reviews could get the old 'not tonight, babe.'
And if that goes down? Well, with Mercury in reverse, self-reflection is warranted. Is it them? Is it you? Is it both of you?
We like to think of self-expression happening in two separate fields: the individual field and the relational field. The individual field is all about you doing you—other people's opinions be damned. The relational field demands accountability. Are you tuning in to the other person's energy? Are you interested in meeting them where they are, while also being your authentic self? This is a skill worth polishing. At its best, Leo energy feels more like interactive theater than a Broadway performance.
While Leo season is usually a time for unfettered experimentation, in 2025, we'll need to pull back a touch. But don't stem the tide of ideas that flow in. Sophie Cunningham on DeWanna Bonner's Fever exit: 'Be professional about it. Send a text to your teammates'
As a rookie in Phoenix in 2019, Sophie Cunningham played with DeWanna Bonner. So she was happy to learn the six-time WNBA All-Star would be joining her in Indiana this offseason. Cunningham arrived via trade, while Bonner signed a 1-year deal as a prized free agent acquisition. Bonner's time with the Fever didn't last long. The 16-year pro played just nine games for Indiana before stepping away for "personal reasons" as the team sought to find a suitable trade partner after Bonner informed the franchise she wasn't a good fit with the team. Eventually, Indiana waived Bonner on June 25. Bonner signed with the Mercury on July 7, returning to the franchise where she spent 10 seasons and won two championships. She also reunited with her fiancee, Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas. When the Mercury visited Gainbridge Fieldhouse on July 30, Bonner did not get a warm welcome. Fever fans booed her heavily when she checked into the game, coming off the bench for the Mercury. The boos continued as she nearly immediately drew a shooting foul, then stepped up to the line to take the free throws. Some Mercury players seemed to be taken aback by the crowd's reaction to Bonner, with Kahleah Copper saying, "I just don't understand. Like, she's a legend. All the things she's done for the league — the disrespect, I just can't get down with it." Speaking on her new "Show Me Something" podcast with West Wilson, Cunningham said any pro athlete should expect to get booed in that situation. 'Can I give you a scenario? I like DB. DB was one of my vets when I was in Phoenix and then we gathered here into Indiana. And I was kind of surprised she signed here in Indiana anyway, so we'll take her in a heartbeat. She's a Hall of Famer, she's a helluva basketball player, can score from anywhere on the court," Cunningham said. "She got to Indiana and she just wasn't really happy, and I want people to be happy , so that's why I'm kind of like neutral on this one, which everyone is surprised about. She's toward the end of her career, like she deserves her flowers, she deserves to be happy. But I also think that if you're going to leave, you're going to have to expect getting booed.' Cunningham didn't have a problem with the fans booing Bonner. She did however have an issue with Bonner's lack of "professionalism" in the way she left Indiana. 'I'm still rooting for her. I want her to end her career and be happy, but I also think like, it's OK to be professional about it. Send a text to your teammates, send a text like, 'Hey, love you guys,' or you don't even have to say, 'Love you guys.' Say, 'Sorry this didn't work out, good luck…' There's a way to handle that, I think." The Fever (16-12) travel to Phoenix to play Bonner and the Mercury on Thursday night. This former 'Friday Night Lights' star may make a cameo in series reboot
Clear eyes. Full hearts. Can't lose. Those six words are permanently etched into the brains of every fan who ever watched the hit TV show Friday Night Lights and they may hear them again soon. Back in December, fans of the show learned that a new adaptation of the series is currently in development at Peacock (which beat out Netflix) and Universal Television. The new show takes place after a hurricane as a Texas high school football team attempts to compete for a state championship. We don't know much about the show yet, but here is what we heard from Peter Berg, who will return as director and executive producer of the show (via Esquire): "It's a complete reinvention of the show. We want to do it with a whole new cast, but obviously there'll be football in it. But the original show was done a long time ago ... There's just so many new elements, so we want to look at that. And if certain cast members come back, have appearances, that's great. But if Friday Night Lights works, it'll be because it works as a reinvention.' So which of these "certain cast members" might come back to have appearances? Connie Britton, who played one of the lead roles Tami Taylor, told Vanity Fair earlier this summer that she would be willing to have a "real tight little cameo" in the reboot. Taylor Kitsch, who portrayed star player Tim Riggins, said in the same interview that he "won't be a part of it" this time around. During a recent interview with The Wrap to promote The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, it once again seemed that Kitsch did not seem particularly interested: "I was asked to do it. Yeah, I'm not going back. No." Based on that answer, it seemed unlikely fans would see Riggins in the project. During his conversation with Access Hollywood, meanwhile, Kitsch added that he had not spoken to Kyle Chandler about it. But he seemed more willing to participate. "[Expletive] I'll do a cameo. I would do one. It's got to be out of control, though. I don't know. We'll see." Then, when asked how he thought Riggins was probably spending his time these days, here is what he said: "Where would Riggs be? Probably [expletive] having a cold one on the lake with a couple girls waiting for him in the cabin." So perhaps Kitsch would actually do a funny arc (perhaps as an opposing coach) in the new version of the show in an episode "for like eight seconds" after all. Meanwhile, in addition to Berg as director and executive producer, Jason Katims will return as the showrunner and executive producer. Brian Grazer will return as an executive producer.
