Grant Hill joining NBC coverage of 2025-26 NBA season

Reuters6 hours ago

June 24 - The return of NBA coverage on NBC will have a familiar face for the 2025-26 season as Hall of Famer Grant Hill will join the desk as a game analyst.
Hill, 52, will continue to serve in his role as a college basketball analyst with TNT Sports for the NCAA Tournament as well as for the network's coverage of Big East and Big 12 basketball.
"The NBA has been such a meaningful part of my life, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue sharing the game I love with fans across the country," Hill said in a statement. "To be part of NBC's return to the NBA -- a network with such a rich basketball legacy -- and its debut on Peacock is truly an honor. I can't wait to get started this fall."
Sam Flood, executive producer for NBC Sports, described Hill's pedigree as "unparalleled," emphasizing that Hill "will be a tremendous asset to our coverage."
"He's an accomplished broadcaster," Flood added, "whose basketball IQ, insight and intellect will continue to resonate with NBA fans across the country."
The 1995 Co-Rookie of the Year and a seven-time All-Star, Hill played 18 seasons in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers. He also won a gold medal with Team USA at the 1996 Olympics and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018.
Hill joined the broadcasting side of the game after retiring in 2013 and also assumed the role of USA Basketball's managing director, with Hill building a roster that won gold at the 2024 Olympics.
The NBA last summer agreed to an 11-year media rights deal with NBC/Peacock, ABC/ESPN and Amazon Prime Video that begins with the 2025-26 season.

George Kittle reveals the wild NFL training method that impacts player's sex lives

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle recently gushed about his use of a revolutionary training method which has a bizarre side effect which positively impacts his sex life. On a recent appearance on the podcast 'Bussin With the Boys', Kittle spoke about his use of a Vasper machine to help improve his recovery. The Vasper system is a recumbent workout bike with pumping handles which requires users to place straps across their body to restrict blood flow. By doing this on a users legs, arms, and neck, it stimulates the pituitary gland into thinking that they've completed an intense, hours-long workout. In reality, it's only suggested to use the machine for 21 minutes. Among the benefits of the machine, it tricks the brain into thinking there's excess inflammation throughout the body - stimulating the production of testosterone to improve recovery, muscle growth, and more. But it also has one positive side effect for more intimate moments, as Kittle revealed. The Vasper bike tricks the body into producing more testosterone, which aids in recovery 'I do it a little bit during OTA's, but as soon as I get back in the summer, it's like my cardio every day at the end of my workout,' the tight end said. 'It also knocks you the f**k out at night, unconscious. You sleep so well, and you have wild dreams, too. It's awesome.' But there's another side effect, as Kittle reveals: 'The main selling point is you blow huge loads. 'That's how it was sold to players. It was like, "Look, it boosts your testosterone, you sleep really well, you're going to feel great... and you also blow huge loads."' Kittle didn't buy it at first: 'I was like "Oh, that's bulls**t". Not bulls**t. And then that rumor started going around.' Kittle has been married to his wife, Claire, since April 2019 after meeting at the University of Iowa. Claire previously discovered she was pregnant on Christmas Day 2023, but tragically found out the pregnancy was ectopic - requiring surgery to save her life. However, the couple were named godparents to the son of the family of Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg. George has been seen holding the boy, Felix, at times when Filip is playing hockey.

Videos show driverless Tesla 'robotaxis' braking hard without warning - and on wrong side of the road

Regulators are looking into suspected problems with Elon Musk's self-driving "robotaxis" after videos showed a few braking suddenly and driving on the wrong side of the road. The tests began on Sunday in Austin, Texas, and it's the first time Tesla cars without a human driver have carried paying passengers. Musk sees the concept as a major part of the company's financial future and envisages thousands of the cars operating across the US. However, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Tuesday it was looking into the apparent errors. "NHTSA is aware of the referenced incidents and is in contact with the manufacturer to gather additional information," the agency said. One video shows a Tesla in a left turn-only lane going straight through an intersection, with the steering wheel shaking erratically, before it briefly veers in the wrong lane. Another clip shows a robotaxi brake hard several times in the middle of the road, apparently responding to the flashing lights of parked police cars. Tesla has so far not responded to the videos. Ten robotaxis are reportedly part of the Austin test - and in other social media videos they appear to operate as intended and get the thumbs up from reviewers. Tesla shares jumped 8% on Monday as the programme appeared to get off to a good start, but on Tuesday they dropped back nearly 3%. The cars are initially overseen by a human "safety monitor" in the front seat - but it's unclear if they've had to intervene in any incidents. Federal regulators also last year launched an investigation into how some privately owned Teslas reacted in low-visibility scenarios following several accidents, including one that was fatal. Elon Musk's vision is to rapidly roll out the robotaxis, but apart from safety concerns he faces competition from current market leader Waymo. The company is a subsidiary of Google owner Alphabet and already offers self-driving taxis - mostly without any human "safety monitor" - in Austin, Los Angeles, Atlanta, San Francisco and Phoenix.

Amazon recalls 100,000 mattresses over terrifying fire hazard... are you sleeping on one?

Around 100,000 Americans are sleeping on mattresses that fail to meet federal flammability standards. Crayan, a mattress brand sold exclusively through Amazon, is offering full refunds to customers after its 10- and 12-inch models were found to violate US mattres regulations. Federal regulators require mattresses to pass flammability tests to help prevent fires from spreading rapidly while people are asleep — a risk that can turn deadly in seconds if a bed ignites. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) posted a recall bulletin for the mattress on June 18. No injuries have been reported from the product. The recall affects all Twin, Full, Queen, and King size mattresses sold between July 2022 and June 2024 for $100 to $200. The mattresses were made in Japan and sold by a China-based company through Amazon's platform. Each has a quilted white top, gray cotton sides, and 'Crayan' stitched into the foot of the bed. Officials warn owners to stop using the product immediately. Consumers should write the word 'Recalled' on the mattress's white surface, snap a photo, send it to crayan_service@ and then dispose of the mattress permanently. Crayan is contacting all known buyers and is required to provide full refunds to verified customers. Under federal law, it is illegal to resell or donate recalled products. Despite its safety failure, Crayan's website claims its mattresses are 'free from harmful substances, making them safe for you and your loved ones.' 'We prioritize your health and safety above all.' All of the products on the company's Amazon webpage are listed as 'currently unavailable.' The mattresses received mixed reviews from verified Amazon shoppers, with multiple buyers complaining about new products carrying a weird smell. 'It's comfortable, good sleeping comfort, but it still smells strong after 3 days,' one mattress topper buyer said in their three-star rating. Amazon's top boss, Andy Jassy, became CEO in July 2021 after running the company's tech-focused AWS network 'I hope they didn't use harmful preservatives like formaldehyde. Would like to know more about it.' Amazon didn't immediately respond to request for comment. Amazon products recalled The e-commerce giant has recently warned customers that dozens of products sold on its site have been recalled. In early June, the company posted about three sink faucets that tested positive for lead. Another 1.1 million phone chargers were recalled for a fire and explosion risk. In March, over 90,000 battery pack phone cases were recalled for another burning risk.
