
Have fun & learn: Edu dept organises summer camps for govt school students
The 'Kamal ka camp', whose primary aim is to provide the students of Classes V and VI with a supportive learning environment to build their fundamental skills, will run until June 20 in one lakh tolas across the state, as per an official. Each camp, being led by a dedicated team of shiksha sewaks, talimi markaz, teacher trainees, scouts and guides, NCC cadets, and other volunteers, will have 10-15 children.
Sunita Kumari, a shiksha sevak working under Akshar Aanchal Yojana, who is leading one such camp on the premises of Kanya Madhya Vidyalaya in Bankipore, said they had 15 students.
"I taught them basic maths like counting, which I tried to explain through games today (Monday). They were enjoying and grasping things at the same time," she said, highlighting the engaging learning approach adopted in the camp.
Teachers of govt schools, however, have not been involved in the camps.
State education minister Sunil Kumar had earlier appealed to the social workers, public representatives, voluntary organisations and meritorious students to contribute and inspire the govt school students to join the summer camp.

Raipur NCC group clinches third consecutive title at inter-group camp in Lakholi
RAIPUR: NCC Group Raipur has emerged as overall champion at the prestigious inter-group competition (IGC) camp held at the NCC training node in Lakholi, Arang, marking its third consecutive victory in the annual event. The ten-day camp, which concluded on July 31, brought together over 600 cadets from across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, under the aegis of the NCC directorate (MP & CG). The IGC was conducted in conjunction with the annual training camp (ATC) of the Chhattisgarh battalion NCC, Korba, making it a comprehensive and high-intensity experience for participating cadets. The participating NCC groups included Raipur, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Indore, and Sagar, who competed in a series of rigorous and technical events. These included obstacle training, tent pitching, map reading, judging distance and field signals, all designed to assess physical endurance, mental agility, and leadership qualities.
