With the huge sale already underway, I've taken a closer look at some of the best beauty deals shoppers can get their hands on. Brands including Shark, Remington, Revlon and more are among the ones spotted so far.
Skincare
Top pick
My top pick for skincare this Prime Day is the COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence 100ml. It has been reduced from £23.99, to £11.50. The product "repairs and rejuvenates the skin from dryness and ageing." According to Amazon, "it improves skin vitality by reducing dullness and soothing dehydrated skin."
The essence has a 4.5 star rating online, with one review saying: 'This essence is amazing – it really does work like magic. My skin feels deeply hydrated, plumper, and visibly brighter after just a few uses. The texture is silky and absorbs quickly without any stickiness. A little goes a long way, so the bottle lasts ages. It's now a staple in my routine – perfect for skin repair and that healthy glow. Korean skincare at its best!'
However, some shoppers claimed they hadn't seen any difference after using the product. One person said: 'Doing absolutely nothing for my skin which is annoying as it is very expensive!' and a second wrote: 'Is not good for my face and no change.'
Despite this, others still praised the product. One said: 'WOW!!! I cannot believe the difference in my skin. I've only just started using this and even after a couple of days I can see a big difference. My skin has always been very dry and it has begun to look a bit crepe-y, but this serum has got rid of that. My skin is glowing.'

The product is described offers the 'natural finish of a CC cream' and aims to 'camouflage the look of skin concerns like wrinkles, redness on skin, large pores, dark spots and uneven skin tone.'
Reviewers praised the foundation, with one person writing: 'Perfect coverage for Rosacea and lively light feel doesn't cake and lasts well if you use a setting spray over it!'
A second said: 'This CC+ Cream is genuinely impressive! You get fantastic full coverage without that heavy, cakey feeling, which is a huge win. My skin feels incredibly comfortable and hydrated, thanks to the hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E, and the built-in SPF 50 is brilliant for daily protection. The Remington Shine Therapy Hair Straightener is now reduced to £19.66, down from £79.99. The product features Advanced Ceramic coated plates infused with Moroccan Argan Oil with Vitamin E, a digital temperature display with nine settings and heats up in 15 seconds.
The 4.6 star rated straightener is loved by reviews, with one person writing: 'Best straighteners I've ever purchased, better than my ghd's, I have very frizzy hair with slight natural wave, gets my hair poker straight & so soft & shiny, even the price was excellent, so glad I purchased them, the only negative is that they do take a little while to get to temperature but I can live with that.'
However, one shopper claimed the heat-up time was longer than expected. They wrote: 'Very basic straighteners. Despite the description stating they heat up in 15 seconds, mine take 2 minutes! They are okay but have had better cheap straighteners. Wouldn't buy again.'
Despite this, others continued to praise the item. One person said: 'I was blown away the first time i used these, they perform like ghds. It's great that they have a lock setting, wider plates, a good variety of temperature settings to meet all different hair types and comes in a cute storage case for on the go or holidays. My hair now looks shiny and healthy but also kept straight for so much longer than my old pair of straighteners. I wouldn't use any others now they're amazing!'

Samsung Galaxy phone gets even cheaper as it falls below £250

The Samsung Galaxy model has three main camera sensors, AI-powered zoom, a big battery and plenty of storage Samsung is renowned for some of the industry's high-performance phones on the market, look at the Galaxy S25 Ultra or its newest Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7. These come with a high cost, often reaching as much as £1,000 each, leaving some shoppers scouring for cheaper alternatives. Fortunately, Samsung has an offering for those of us who are more budget-conscious. The Galaxy A26, which hit the market in March 2025, was launched at a price of £299. And now Amazon is offering an ever cheaper price. In a new sale, the Prime retailer has slashed £50 off the price for a limited period. This means that customers can now bag a perfectly capable brand new Samsung Galaxy phone for £249, a price which is matched at the Samsung store too. Despite being at the budget end of the range, it still retains many features from Samsung's pricier models. For starters, it boasts three main camera sensors, including an ultra-wide, normal wide, and macro camera. While it doesn't have a telephoto zoom, it can use AI to zoom in up to 10x. Additionally, it offers a decent amount of storage for all photographic memories. With 256GB, it provides double the base storage capacity of an iPhone 16. Add to this six years of guaranteed software updates, and buyers can be confident that this Samsung device will serve them well for a considerable time. While it may not have as powerful a processor as the top-end Galaxy S25 models, it strikes a great balance for those looking to save a bit of money. Amazon is currently offering some top-notch budget smartphones, including the quirky Nothing Phone (3A), which sports a unique design on the back and is up for grabs at just £289. For those looking to spend even less, the HONOR X6c could be an option, discounted to £89.99 from its usual price of £129.99. It boasts a 120Hz display and a hefty 5300mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy A26 has a 4.3-star rating on Amazon. One satisfied customer commented: "Great phone at a good price, good looking and nice clear screen." Another happy buyer remarked: "Surprisingly good for the price. It's a fair sized phone with a good camera and screen considering how cheap it is. Highly recommend." Yet another added: "I have used it for several days but I am very happy with the performance. Battery lasts all day with heavy usage, light weight." Some users, however, did report disappointing battery life despite its large capacity. As one person said: "Good phone - nothing out of the ordinary though. Battery runs out quickly."

Amazon.com seeks to end lawsuit claiming rice contaminated by heavy metals

July 29 (Reuters) - (AMZN.O), opens new tab urged a federal judge to dismiss a proposed class action over its alleged sale of rice tainted by arsenic and other "heavy metals," denying the accusation it fraudulently concealed contamination. In a filing late on Friday in Seattle federal court, Amazon said the presence of heavy metals in rice was a "decades-old, well-known issue" that was easy to discover, and the plaintiffs did not claim there were more metals than regulators allowed. Amazon also said Section 230 of the federal Communications Decency Act shields online platforms from liability over content from third parties, such as rice sellers. Lawyers for the plaintiffs did not immediately respond on Tuesday to requests for comment. The lawsuit on May 23 covered 18 types of rice sold through Amazon, including from brands such as Ben's Original and Amazon-owned Whole Foods' 365. Plaintiffs Ashley Wright and Merriman Blum said they would not have bought or would have paid less for their Iberia basmati rice, one of the products, had they known it was contaminated or Amazon never tested it for heavy metals. Exposure to heavy metals has been associated with nervous system problems, immune system suppression and kidney damage. It has also been associated with autism spectrum disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in young children. The lawsuit followed a study, opens new tab by the nonprofit Healthy Babies, Bright Futures, which found arsenic in all 145 rice samples purchased nationwide, cadmium in all but one sample, and lead and mercury in more than one-third of tested samples. The case is Wright et al v Inc, U.S. District Court, Western District of Washington, No. 25-00977.

Learn More Sorry, there seem to be some issues. Please try again later. Submitting... Yes, it is possible to buy an electric standing desk for less than £65. It's thanks to a deal on Amazon, heavily discounting an Agilestic desk in a variety of sizes and styles, with the cheapest option costing just £63.99. It rises from a seating position at 72cm, all the way up to its maximum standing position at 116cm and its electric lift system can support up to 70kg. The motor runs at less than 55dB, so it's very quiet in operation, and an anti-collision system protects the mechanism by quickly reducing its height by 2cm if it detects an obstacle. The digital control panel offers presets for your favourite heights | Amazon It's every bit the premium desk for a rock-bottom price, then, but there are a few caveats. Firstly, the £63.99 deal is only available in two colour combinations - white with white legs, or light brown with white legs. You have to pay more for black legs for some reason. Also, the price is for the smallest option - the 100cmx60cm desk. It's big enough for most people, but if you have multiple monitors, or a lot of clutter on your desk you might want to go for a bigger size. To spec a 120cmx60cm desk costs just £71.99, and the 140cmx60cm version is £93.41. There's also a 160cmx60cm version, but the price jumps up to £127.49. But if you've always promised yourself a standing desk, this might be the best time to buy one. Just make it snappy, because it's a limited-time deal, and it could expire at any point.
