Marcus Rashford to get 10 strict rules to follow at Barcelona after completing transfer
Marcus Rashford is closing in on a loan move to Barcelona and the Manchester United star will have to follow some strict rules if he is to succeed under Hansi Flick. Rashford has been frozen out at Old Trafford and is hoping to get back to his best at Barcelona.
The La Liga giants have agreed to sign him on loan with an option to buy and he could prove an excellent addition to a side that enjoyed great success in Flick's first campaign. Barcelona won a domestic treble last season, lifting the La Liga title, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.
And Barcelona's success came after Flick implemented 10 strict rules that he expects every member of his squad to follow, according to Spanish publication AS. The report states that Flick has demanded that each player arrives for training at least 90 minutes early, with the German often the first person at the training ground.
There is also a daily weigh-in to help keep track of the squad's fitness levels, while the entire squad are required to eat food prepared by nutritionist Silvia Tremoleda at the club's Ciutat Esportiva canteen.
Players are also required to take part in a warm-up session on the morning of a game, something that was reportedly scrapped under previous boss Xavi after complaints from the squad.
Flick also demands that his players meet at the team hotel ahead of every game, with the 60-year-old said to be keen to 'control every detail and avoid unpleasant surprises'. He has also scrapped late-night flights after away games to prioritise player recovery.
Training under Flick is very tough, though, with Barcelona implementing long and intense training sessions that last around an hour and a half. He has also scrapped the fines system that was in place under Xavi, trusting his players to hold themselves to account.
It is noted that Flick typically restricts his players to just one day off a week, with the manager demanding they give him his all. He also tries to maintain a professional relationship with the squad 'based on respect and commitment', believing that there should be a clear line between manager and player.
And Flick has already made it clear that he is a fan of Rashford, having described him as a "fantastic player" when asked about a potential move for the winger back in May. "This is what we have talked about with the club," Flick said.
"In the last matches maybe we did not have a lot of options in that position… so we have to bring more options to the team and more quality. This is the job from Deco, is clear, and I will support him.
"I don't want to speak about players which are not in my team, but of course Luis Diaz and Marcus Rashford are fantastic players. I like them and we'll see what happens."

Viktor Gyokeres Golden Boot odds as striker secures long-awaited Arsenal transfer
Viktor Gyokeres is confident of his ability to make an impact at the Emirates Stadium as he wears the number 14 shirt Many Arsenal fans will be eager to see what Viktor Gyokeres will do for the Gunners as the former Sporting Lisbon striker finally put pen to paper on his long-awaited transfer to the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Arteta's side have been consistent in finishing runners-up in the Premier League for the last three seasons but have been lacking a clinical number 9. The Swedish striker will be expected to hit the ground running after producing 68 goals in 66 league matches for the Portuguese giants - mostly under the guidance of now-Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim. Even the bookies see him as an outside shout of competing for the Golden Boot for the upcoming season at 8/1 with William Hill. The Gunners will be hoping Gyokeres leads the attack in style and substance as they have not had a 20+ goal a season striker since Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang almost six seasons ago. The likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli stepped up in recent seasons, last campaign spoke volumes with Kai Havertz finishing as the club's top scorer in the league with just nine. William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps said: 'With Arsenal getting the deal for Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres over the line, we make him a 8/1 shot to be the Premier League Top Goalscorer in his first season for the Gunners. 'It's odds on at 10/11 that he scores 20 or more goals in the 2025/26 Premier League season, and just 6/4 that he scores two or more hat-tricks this season. The new No14 at the Emirates may well be what they need to finally get over the line in major competitions - Arsenal are now 9/4 to win the 2025/26 Premier League title." The 27-year-old's Premier League debut will be at Old Trafford against United who were also chasing for his services and reunite him with Amorim in the red half of Manchester before a home debut a week later against newly-promoted Leeds United then a trip to Anfield to face reigning champions Liverpool. He is used to the Premier League although only ever from the bench while he was at Brighton & Hove Albion which he joined in 2018 but was only ever named on the bench on three occasions but never made a league appearance for the Seagulls. While at the south coast club he had loan spells at St Pauli, Swansea City and Coventry City before signing for the Championship club on a permanent basis in 2021. Man Utd want Luke Littler to return to Old Trafford to parade latest trophy as he matches club's famous Treble
MANCHESTER UNITED are keen for fellow Treble winner Luke Littler to return to Old Trafford and show off his latest darts trophy. Littler, 18, is a passionate United fan and completed the Triple Crown last weekend when he beat James Wade 18-13 to lift the Betfred World Matchplay. 3 3 Within the space of just 15 months, he has won the sport's three biggest events – the Premier League Darts, the World Championship and the Matchplay. On Sunday, January 19 – two days before his 18th birthday – Littler showed off the Sid Waddell Trophy to Red Devils fans at half-time of the 3-1 Prem loss to Brighton. And following his latest triumph, secured at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, club insiders would welcome him doing the same again with this pot of silverware, which is a dead ringer for football's FA Cup. Though Littler was not even born when United completed the historic Treble in 1999 under legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson, they see the similarities with his 'three-peat' achievement. No official conversation has been had yet between the two parties but Littler has close links to the hierarchy. SunSport understands they are open to talks and say he is always welcome given his love and loyalty towards United, who are managed by Ruben Amorim. On his first VIP visit in January 2024, he met up with Ferguson, 83, and posed for photos. That same month, he coached shot-shy United stars how to hit the target as he took part in a nine-darts challenge at the Carrington training HQ with Harry Maguire and Christian Eriksen. Luke Littler prize money breakdown Here is all the prize money Luke Littler has won so far after being crowned 2025 PDC World Darts Championship winner: World Championship 2025 - £500,000 World Championship 2024 - £200,000 Grand Slam of Darts 2024 - £150,000 European Tour - £91,000 Player Championships events - £71,500 Players Championship final runner-up - £60,000 UK Open 2023 + 2024 - £17,500 World Matchplay - £10,000 World Grand Prix - £7,500 European Championship - £7,500 (Unranked) Premier League Darts - £315,000 TOTAL: £1.43 million United open their Premier League campaign against Arsenal on Sunday, August 17. That fixture does not work for Littler, who will be in Auckland that weekend for the New Zealand Darts Masters. 'As a player yeah but...' - Luke Littler forces Roy Keane to agree on Bruno Fernandes but Man Utd legend still makes dig But he will then have time off until the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam on September 12-14. Meanwhile, Littler – midway through his second year as a pro – was asked after his win over Wade which of the three top trophies was his preference. It is nearly seven months since he beat Michael van Gerwen at Ally Pally to become the sport's youngest world champion. Littler replied: 'It has to be the Worlds. But my personal favourite? 'Obviously, the Premier League at 17, winning that on debut and all the doubters saying if I am ready or not. 'That meant the most. But picking up the worlds, I think that is the best.'
