Jaipur: Rajasthan became a leading state in the country to install 1,000MW capacity of solar plants aimed at solarising agriculture connections and improving the income of farmers under PM-Kusum schemes. With the increasing installation of solar plants, 1.70 lakh farmers are now getting power during the day, increasing their efficiency and reducing the difficulties of irrigating farms at night.Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma celebrated the moment with a post on 'X'. "To make Rajasthan self-reliant in the field of energy, a new record of 1,000MW solar energy production capacity has been set in the state under the "Kusum Yojana" of the BJP govt.""This golden achievement will not only ensure the fulfilment of the increasing energy needs of the state but will also provide a permanent source of additional income and uninterrupted power supply to the farmers," he added in the tweet.Under Component-A and Component-C of PM Kusum Yojana, more than 70,000 agricultural consumers are already getting electricity during the day by installing 560 grid-connected decentralised solar power plants. At the same time, in Component-B of this scheme, agricultural pumps of about 1 lakh farmers were connected to solar energy.

Ordinance To Check Pvt School Fee Hike
New Delhi: To regulate arbitrary fee hikes by private schools, the Delhi cabinet, led by chief minister Rekha Gupta, gave its approval on Tuesday to Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Ordinance 2025. It will come into effect retrospectively from April 1. The cabinet also gave its nod to Viksit Delhi Chief Minister Internship Programme and the deployment of 100 interns in Forensic Science Laboratory. According to officials, the schools will have to take permission under the prescribed procedure and rules before increasing the fees. The law will help in cracking down on schools that charge fees arbitrarily or discriminate against students. Parents will also get a clear system to register their complaints and ensure prompt action on them. Once the ordinance gets President's assent, the rules of this law will be prepared. Announcing the development, education minister Ashish Sood said the ordinance would secure the future of children studying in private schools and provide relief to the parents. "It is a major move towards ending the financial exploitation of the parents of private school students once and for all," Sood said. BJP govt earlier planned to introduce the bill in the assembly during a special session in May, which got cancelled. Since the monsoon session will take place in July, govt decided to enact it through an ordinance. A fine of Rs 50,000 will be imposed on a school by the director of education for each affected student. The administration will also have the power to seal and sell the school property in case of repeated violations and if the fines are not paid. A school-level fee regulation committee, district fee appellate committee and a revision committee will be formed to oversee fee structures and address grievances. The bill mandates the selection of parent and teacher representatives in the committees by draw of lots and decision-making by majority vote within committees. It bars schools from taking coercive action against students for non-payment of fees, such as striking off names from rolls, withholding examination results, denying access to classes or activities, or subjecting students to public humiliation or psychological harassment. It also states that there should be representation of all stakeholders, including parents, teachers and members from scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, backward classes and women, in the school-level fee regulation committees. According to officials, Viksit Delhi Chief Minister Internship Programme will harness the energy and innovative ideas of young interns pursuing graduation and postgraduation in various fields. It aims to tap 150 meritorious students who have studied in India to work in Delhi govt for 89 days. Officials said the interns would have a clear interest, aptitude and commitment to public service and work in synergy with various departments to provide analytical support in the formulation of policies, implementation of projects and various initiatives in development infrastructure, social security, technology sector, etc. The interns will be selected by Delhi University. The cabinet also approved the deployment of 100 interns in FSL for one year on a stipend basis to offer young qualified professionals the opportunity to gain practical experience and learn about the latest techniques and technologies in forensic sciences. CM Gupta said that in the past 100 days, significant decisions were taken in the public interest in every cabinet meeting, inspired by PM Narendra Modi's commitment to making citizens' lives "simpler, more transparent and dignified".

Assets of state political party chiefs should be probed: Jakhar
Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Punjab unit chief Sunil Jakhar on Tuesday demanded 'income trail test' of state presidents of all political parties, to ascertain the illegal wealth of mainstream leaders. Replying to a question over Punjab finance minister Harpal Cheema's statement seeking dope tests of all political leaders, Jhakhar said their assets should be probed as well. 'There are state presidents who had mud houses till a few years ago but are now roaming in (Land Rover) Defender cars worth 2.5 crore. What formula they have used to accumulate such wealth and properties, people must know. The income tax (department) can start the probe from me,' said Jakhar. He was addressing a press conference regarding the completion of 11 years of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre. Jakhar also took potshots at Congress leaders, who he said recently constructed farmhouses in Siswan area in New Chandigarh. 'You will be surprised to know that Captain Amarinder Singh has built a farmhouse in just four acres but some of our old friends from the Congress have built farmhouses across 10 acres. More surprising is that they have spent huge money on boundary walls, which are of more height than any central jail,' the BJP leader said. Taking jibe at the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab over 'Yudh Nashian Virudh', the state BJP chief said this drive is a 'sham' as only small consumers were being put behind bars. Jakhar gave out data about such campaigns run in the previous Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)-BJP state governments to show how they resulted in significant arrests but failed eventually. Jakhar said that the BJP, under PM Modi, has ushered the country in a period of unprecedented growth for the country. 'India has become the fourth largest economy in the world. Lauding 11 years of the Modi government at the Centre, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday described the period as a 'golden era' that not only gave India a global recognition but also replaced a legacy of political instability, corruption, appeasement and dynastic politics with a decisive, transparent and accountable model of governance. Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters here after inaugurating an exhibition showcasing the Centre's achievements, Yogi said the Modi years reshaped India's global image, brought clarity to policy and redefined the relationship between government and citizens. The CM asserted that India no longer responded to threats with silence but with strength. 'This is no longer a country that chants peace without resolve. If war is forced upon us, the response will be a surgical strike, an airstrike or Operation Sindoor,' he said. 'India is now tested in Pakistan and trusted by the world,' Yogi added. He credited the Modi government with restoring people's faith in democracy, dented under previous unstable regimes, and said India had achieved a new balance of cultural pride and economic growth. 'For the first time, schemes are reaching people based on need, not face,' he said, adding that the years under Modi had given the country a new governance identity rooted in clarity, transparency and public accountability. Yogi said the government had laid out a 25-year roadmap to a developed and self-reliant India, backed by inclusive growth and major strides in infrastructure, technology, and welfare. He said that the last 11 years had seen the country rise from being the 11th largest economy to the fourth, overtaking Britain and doubling its per capita income. The nation's exports had grown significantly and, at the current pace, India was poised to become the world's third-largest economy by 2027, he added. The CM highlighted how initiatives like the Prime Minister Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and PM SVANidhi had brought tangible changes in the lives of the poor, making governance more result-oriented. He also praised the increased representation of women in leadership and the government's firm stance on safeguarding social justice and reservation. Emphasising the link between heritage and progress, Yogi pointed to the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya after 500 years, the grand statues of Sardar Patel and Subhas Chandra Bose and the overall transformation of pilgrimage towns. 'The Modi government has integrated India's civilisational legacy with its development goals,' he said. To mark the occasion, BJP leaders also announced a series of events across Uttar Pradesh, including exhibitions at district headquarters, digital contests on the changing face of India, yoga camps and outreach events focused on enrolling senior citizens under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Central ministers, MPs, MLAs and party functionaries from booth to national level are expected to participate in these events.
