Halle Berry, Juliette Binoche Wave the French Flag at Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony

CANNES, France — Chanel, Dior and Jacquemus.
The Cannes Film Festival kicked off with jurors flying the flag for French designers and houses.

Halle Berry showed her true stripes in a graphic monochrome gown from Jacquemus.
The juror, who told WWD she is ready to usher in a new fashion era during the festival's fortnight, wore a bold, floor-length trapeze gown with a pink bustle for the opening ceremony, which took place Tuesday night.
Berry's look was from the Parisian designer's most recent 'La Croisière' collection, completed with a clutch and sandals also from the brand.
The Jacquemus look was selected after Berry admitted she had to make a last-minute outfit change due to the festival introducing a new dress code, which was revealed on Monday. The new rules prohibit nudity on the red carpet — the point perhaps most mentioned in the press — as well as overly voluminous dresses and gowns with excessively long trains.
'I had an amazing dress by [Gaurav] Gupta that I cannot wear tonight because it's too big of a train,' she said at the morning's press conference, where she was sporting a Chanel suit in classic black tweed.
The graphic look was covered up to the neck and in line with the new caution against naked dresses.
'I'm not going to break the rules. The nudity part is also probably a good rule,' Berry added.
On the red carpet, Heidi Klum seemed to challenge the festival organizers in a pink Elie Saab Haute Couture gown complete with a floral train that was several feet long.
Dior dressed two of Berry's fellow jurors. Jury president Juliette Binoche wore a dramatic, hooded off-white silk crepe top and pant look from the house's haute couture collection. She completed the look with earrings from Chopard.
Binoche gave a passionate speech, touching on global warming, misogyny and war as continually pressing issues.
'Artists have the opportunity to bear witness for others. The higher the level of suffering, the more vital the level of involvement becomes,' she said. 'We must act today, immediately, without violence but with passion, with determination. The time has come, everyone who loves freedom must organize, protest, and the time has also come to vote, when there are elections.'
French author Leila Slimani wore a Dior off white cape silk dress.
Chanel dressed juror Alba Rohrwacher in a custom look reinterpreted from the spring 1987 haute couture collection. The look featured a bow across the bodice, two tiers and delicate draping at the back. Chopard jewels also completed her look.
On the men's side, Leonardo DiCaprio made a surprise appearance at the opening ceremony to honor Robert De Niro.
The famously photo-averse DiCaprio skipped the red carpet and entered the Palais des Festivals from a secured entrance and made his way to the stage via the theater's tunnels. He took to the stage to present De Niro with an honorary Palme d'Or, and said the iconic actor was a role model for an entire generation of actors.
DiCaprio was dressed by Celine, an LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-owned brand, for the occasion.
De Niro gave a passionate speech directed at U.S. President Donald Trump. The Oscar winner decried cuts by the new administration for the arts and higher eduction.
'Now he is announcing 100 percent customs duties on films produced outside of the United States,' said De Niro, citing the topic that has been buzzing around Cannes as the film festival opens.
'This is unacceptable….It is not just an American problem; it is a problem of global scope.'
'Art is inclusive, art is in search of freedom, art includes diversity and that is why art is threatened. That is why we are a threat to the autocrats and fascists of this world,' he added.
Jeremy Strong was thinking pink. The actor and jury member wore a bespoke Loro Piana full tux look — bowtie, cummerbund and all — in a dusty pink shade called 'rosewood.' Earlier in the day, he was sporting a similar sunset hue in a corduroy track suit completed with his signature bucket hat all by Loro Piana, with pink '80s-style sneakers from Lanvin.
It seems the 'Succession' actor will remain loyal to Loro Piana. He wore a turquoise velvet suit from the brand to the Golden Globes earlier this year, and started off the film festival wearing a bespoke lavender linen suit from the LVMH-owned brand for the jury's official opening dinner Monday night.
Dior outfitted Quentin Tarantino in a tuxedo from Kim Jones, and 'Nope' actor Daniel Kaluuya, who is a member of the Un Certain Regard jury.

The Three People Ina Garten Calls Her ‘Dream Dinner Guests'

The Three People Ina Garten Calls Her 'Dream Dinner Guests' originally appeared on Parade. The right group of people seated at your table can make or break a dinner party, whether you're a regular old person like you and me or a TV star like Ina Garten. The Barefoot Contessa has built a career around recipes that are perfect for entertaining, so she knows a thing or two about having people over. She recently opened up about her 'dream dinner guests,' and it's an interesting mix. Garten shared her ideal guest list during the most recent "Sunday Sitdown Live" hosted by Today's Willie Geist. The session was done onstage in front of a live audience in New York City. The dynamic duo sipped cocktails and arranged a dessert platter while they answered questions from the crowd. 'Who are the three people, living or dead, you would like to have dinner with?' wondered one audience member. Garten didn't hesitate with her response. Here's what she shared. Related: For the record, Ina Garten says she has already hosted one dream dinner guest:. As Garten told Geist and the audience earlier in the interview, Taylor Swift came to Garten's East Hampton barn 10 years and the two of them made pavlova. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ina Garten (@inagarten) But three people still remain on Garten's dream dinner guest list. In answer to Geist's question, Ina responded: 'How about Julia Child, Eric Ripert from Le Bernardin, and Jacques Pépin?' In case you're not familiar with Garten's guest list, just know they're not your average Joes. Julia Child is a legendary American chef, TV personality and cookbook author who is known for introducing French cuisine to the American public. (And not to make it all about us, but Julia Child was Parade's very first food editor.) Jacques Pépin is a celebrated French chef and author, TV star and the winner of many awards, including several James Beard Awards. He's another food personality who is loved around these parts. (You have to try his French toast, scrambled eggs and quiche recipes.) For his dream dinner guests, Geist listed off Dolly Parton, Martin Short and Geist's great-great grandfather, who played in the National Hockey League. If Geist and Garten brought their dream guests together, it would be one epic dinner party. Related: During the conversation with Geist, Garten also shared her advice on things to avoid at a dinner party. 'There are two things that I don't think you should ever bring to a dinner party—and they're so common—is something that the host feels like they should serve," she said, calling out Jell-O salad. "What are you going to do with that?" she adds. Garten also recommends against bringing loose flowers. 'Don't ever bring flowers that aren't in a vase,' she said. 'You're there. You're like, everyone's arriving, and then all of a sudden you've got these flowers and you have to figure out what to do."The Three People Ina Garten Calls Her 'Dream Dinner Guests' first appeared on Parade on Jun 2, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 2, 2025, where it first appeared.

Loca Loka Tequila's Golden Hour

At first blush, the idea of a tequila from the highlands of Mexico melded with the culture and creativity of India would seem an unlikely combination. But the vision of Loca Loka Tequila's founders—Indian film star Rana Daggubati, musician and composer Anirudh Ravichander, and entrepreneur Harsha Vadlamudi—and the craftsmanship of the artisans who shepherded the tequila from agave to bottle, have been rewarded with a gold medal at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), one of the most prestigious spirits competitions in the world. Jalisco, By Way of New Delhi More from Robb Report Introducing Robinhood Legend, a New Frontier for Active Traders A Century in Bloom: Rioja at 100 181 Fremont's Grand Penthouse Redefines Urban Luxury The medal comes a year after the launch of Loca Loka, whose name is the Spanish word for 'crazy' and the Sanskrit word for 'world.' Jalisco, a state in Mexico where tequila is made, is more than 9,000 miles from New Delhi, India's capital. But there is common ground between the two cultures. Daggubati explains, 'Loca Loka was born from a shared passion for storytelling and cultural fusion. As co-founders, [we] brought together diverse experiences—from hospitality to music—to build a tequila brand that celebrates joy, flavor, and global connection.' With tequila having become a global phenomenon over the last couple of decades, the time has come for those who love it worldwide to use the category as a reflection of their own cultures. Loca Loka co-founder Ravichander is one of India's most renowned musicians, famed for his singing, writing, instrumental prowess and production both in films and on record. 'Music and spirits are a natural match,' Ravichander says, 'and I'd already seen tequila gaining traction in my circles. This felt like the perfect first step into entrepreneurship—an opportunity to merge my passion for music with a vibrant lifestyle brand. We're bringing the brand to life through live events and concerts, and I'm even composing original music inspired by Loca Loka.' Additive-Free, Made the Traditional Way Although Loca Loka was imagined in India, it's made according to Mexican tradition, without additives and with only the finest 100-percent blue Weber agave from the highlands of Jalisco. The agaves used to make the tequila have aged for at least six years, giving them a higher sugar content, which results in a better finished product. Loca Loka is available in two expressions: a blanco and a reposado. The blanco is unaged, showcasing the quality of the agave and the skill of the tequileros; the sweet flavor of cooked agave combines with a subtle earthiness and a smooth, prolonged finish. The reposado is aged for less than a year in a combination of French and American oak barrels. The French oak imparts a rounded sweetness while the American oak contributes vanilla and peppery spice, both of which harmonize with the sweet, lightly vegetal and mineral notes of the cooked agave, without overwhelming it. Both the blanco and the reposado are ideal for sipping as well as mixing. and the tequila's quality is evident even when tasted blind—as was the case in San Francisco, when the judges at the SFWSC awarded it the gold. Bringing Loca Loka to the World Loca Loka initially rolled out in the U.S. in 2024. In 2025, the brand looks to establish an international footprint, expanding to India as well as the U.K., Dubai, the Philippines, and Indonesia. Travel retail will also be a focus. 'With travel retail as a priority channel,' co-founder Vadlamudi explains, 'our journey will begin at [India's] Hyderabad International Airport, chosen for its growing consumer base and global connectivity. Through curated displays, tastings, and immersive brand storytelling, we aim to introduce Loca Loka as a premium discovery brand—celebrating cultural intersections and inviting international travelers to toast to a new era of celebration.' To have such a global reach is almost unheard of for such a young brand, but Loca Loka's trio of founders has positioned it as a tequila with worldwide appeal, from the stylish look of the bottles to the presence of Daggubati and Anirudh as its spokesmen. In the end, though, it's the quality of the spirit in the bottle that determines a brand's success—and as its triumph in San Francisco attests, Loca Loka's future is looking bright. All Of Disneyland's 70th Anniversary Foods, Reviewed

Hello, friends! We're Crystal and Brian, aka your resident Disneyland nerds. If you're like us, then one of your favorite things about visiting Disney Parks is trying all the new food! And, because it's Disneyland's 70th anniversary this year, they're offering over 70 (YES, 70!!!) foods that are inspired by the past. Obviously, we couldn't try EVERYTHING (as much as our tastebuds wanted to), but here's what we did try and what we thought: French Onion Soup Mac & Cheese Crystal: Honestly, they had me at "mac & cheese." I never turn my nose up at any mac & cheese, so I kinda figured going in, I'd like this. And, I have to say, not only did I like this, but I loved this. The French onion soup flavor was so good, and it really added a nice, almost umami flavor to the mac & cheese. 10/10 would recommend!Brian: This was the dish that had me most intrigued because it doesn't sound like it should work — even though they both contain lots of cheese. However, it really, really worked well together, and, like Crystal says, the French onion soup gave the mac & cheese a nice depth of flavor! I do regret not getting a second helping. :/ Fried Chicken Bites — Served with mashed potatoes and gravy. Crystal: The Fried Chicken Bites are basically popcorn chicken and I love that. Big fan of popcorn chicken over here. Because it was served along with mashed potatoes and gravy in a bowl, the whole thing reminded me a lot of a ~certain popular food chain~ dish that's very similar. This will probably be really popular with Would I wait in a long line to get these? No. But that's only because this was something I felt you could get at a lot of different fast-food places. With that said, the Fried Chicken Bites were actually pretty good and a solid choice if you're a fan of popcorn chicken and want to eat something on the heartier side. "Casa de Fritos" Doritos Crystal: Okay. As far as I can tell, these are just regular ol' Nacho Cheese Doritos. Which is TOTALLY fine, because who doesn't love Doritos? The fun thing about these is that they were served in "Casa de Fritos" bags — a nod to the old restaurant that used to be in Disneyland where, fun fact, Doritos were invented!Brian: So, I love Doritos, and I don't know if it was the Casa de Fritos bag, but the taste gave me fresh-made Doritos vibes! It really didn't taste like the kind you get in the bag at the store (but again, that could be the packaging). I think this is worth a grab if you love the nostalgia factor of eating a food from the long-closed Casa de Fritos. Frito Pie Crystal: Okay. So, Frito Pie — when served properly, aka, in a Fritos bag — is not ~beautiful to look at~. So, I apologize for how unglamorous the picture on the left is, LOL. Having said that, these were yummy and had all the right ingredients I'd expect. Also, TIL they used to serve Frito Pies at Casa de Fritos!Brian: I am not a big fan of Fritos (I know, I know, I know). However, I did like this Frito Pie. It was like a nice combination of nachos with chili! Also, I appreciated how easy it was to eat while walking you can't say about some of the at you, Dole Whip. Crab Cake Slider Crystal: Love crab cakes. Love sliders. This is a wonderful combination. The crab cake itself was super moist, and combined with a dollop of tartar sauce and a sliver of pickled red onion? Perfection! Brian: I don't think I have ever had a crab cake I don't even think I had heard of them. I actually loved these, but then again, I love crab cakes. This was an unexpected treat, and I would definitely get them again. "Space Bar" slider Crystal: I love the nostalgic nod to the "Space Bar" cafe that used to be in Tomorrowland. However, I can't attest to whether they had these little sliders back in the day since it closed well before my time! This was a pretty middle-of-the-road slider, but the packaging was fun These were just, meh, fine. If you want a slider, the crab cake ones are the way to go. Cheese Tamale Special Crystal: A pretty solid tamale. I wouldn't say there was anything particularly "stand out" about this, but it was definitely moist, which is a win because I've had plenty of dry, crumbly tamales in my I have to second Crystal's review that it's a pretty solid tamale, but didn't really stand out as compared to some of the other things we tried that day. I will say that I love that they have tamales as an option, because sometimes you just want something that isn't just fried food or burgers. Mocha Cream Puff with Chocolate Dipped Corn Chips Crystal: I love the chocolate-dipped corn chips, so that was the standout part of this dessert to me. Brian: I thought I would hate this (not going to lie), but it had a good salty-sweet combo that I really enjoyed. Dole Whip Pineapple Bundt Cake Crystal: One thing you should know about me is that I LOVE Dole Whips. Like, for me, no trip to Disneyland is complete without a Dole Whip. I'll eat one even if I'm not hungry. So I literally yelled when I saw this dessert. And it was SO. GOOD. It doesn't just taste like pineapple. They really nailed the specific Dole Whip flavor, and the little pineapple gummy on top was *chef's kiss*. 1000/10Brian: This is a MUST try, especially if you like Dole Whips — and, yes, I would wait in a line for this! It's delicious and really does taste like Dole Whip, but baked into a moist, dense cake. And if you don't like overly sweet things, like me, then this is perfect because it's got just the right amount of sweetness. Mickey Snickers Macaron Crystal: If I'm being honest, I'm not a HUGE macaron person (I know, I know...). But you gotta love a Mickey-shaped dessert, and I DO like Snickers, so for someone who's not big on macarons, I was impressed by this!Brian: Again, not a huge fan of sweet things, but I do like chocolate, and this was, well, very chocolatey. To me, this is something made perfect to have with a big cup of coffee in the morning when you want a pick-me-up when entering the park. Finally, 70th Stuff (a new take on The Grey Stuff) — A shortbread cookie with a cookies and cream cake, fresh raspberry and raspberry jam, surrounded with white chocolate mousse and topped with colored sprinkles. Crystal: This is a ~wild~ take on the iconic Grey Stuff they've had at the Red Rose Tavern in the past. However, unlike the simplicity of the Grey Stuff, this dessert has A LOT going on (as you can see by the description!). I think, overall, it's a fun dessert, but the shortbread cookie was my favorite part. Brian: I was not the biggest fan of this cake (for already established reasons). But! With that said, it tasted like something I would have wanted as a a mixture of different desserts. I think if you have a big sweet tooth or have kids, this is worth getting. As for me? Well, I will be having more of the Dole Whip Pineapple Bundt Cake! The Disneyland Resort's 70th Celebration is already in full swing leading up to the resort's official anniversary on July 17.
