Made in Rs 45 crore, lead actress wore 20 kg of real gold in THIS film, 50 guards used to protect her, jewellery was designed by..., the film is... Released in 2008, Jodhaa Akbar starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan alongside Hrithik Roshan, Sonu Sood, Nikitin Dheer, and others. The film became one of the biggest blockbuster of the decade and the chemistry between Aishwarya and Hrithik garnered immense praise. Apart from this, the historical drama captivated audiences with its regally designed costumes worn by Aishwarya. From silk sarees to pure ornate lehengas, the exquisite pieces worn by her in the film created quite a stir on the internet. However, the major thing that came as a shocker was that the former Miss World wore a staggering 200 kg of jewellery pieces in the film. These exquisite pearls, ornaments and other luxurious metals were crafted with the support of 70 artisans. On the other hand, to ensure the safety of the jewellery, 50 guards were employed. Aishwarya Rai looked ethereal in every frame of the film. The actress wore all kinds of different jewelleries, ranging from polki necklaces, maang teeka, to Haathphool and glass bangles. Another intriguing detail to this historic tale is that Aishwarya discussed her own wedding attire with designer Neeta Lulla while donning her Jodhaa persona. She wanted to let go of movie's opulent costume, and opted for a stunning silk Kanjeevaram saree that evoked a strong sense of connection to her cultural roots. Helmed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Jodhaa Akbar became the third-highest grossing film of the year. The film garnered widespread appeal, and also earned two awards: Best Choreography for the song Azeem O Shaan Shahenshah and Best Costume Design- all thanks to Neeta Lulla's impressive work.

Picture Credit: X Director Mani Ratnam 's action drama, 'Thug Life' starring Kamal Haasan continues to underperform at the box office as the early estimates suggest that the film couldn't even cross the Rs 1 crore mark on its second Saturday. According to Sacnilk, 'Thug Life' earned approximately Rs 90 lakh on Day 10, which makes its total domestic collection to be around Rs 45.65 crore. The drop in numbers has been consistent since its opening day. The film had a strong start, collecting Rs 15.5 crore on Day 1, but since then, the momentum has not been sustained. The film earned an estimated Rs 44 crore in week 1, but the second weekend hasn't helped much in reviving the film's box office prospects. Tamil Nadu remains the film's primary contributor, but even there, footfalls are thinning. On Saturday, the film recorded an overall Tamil occupancy of 23.10%, with night shows peaking at 29.09%, and morning shows dipping as low as 15.5%. Apart from Kamal Haasan the film also stars Trisha Krishnan, T.R. Silambarasan, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal, and Mahesh Manjrekar in key roles. On Twitter, fans shared their honest reactions to the film. While netizens enjoyed the powerful and energetic performance by Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR, the fans also mentioned the screenplay lacked impact and fell below expectations. The second half of the film was criticized for inconsistent writing and pacing issues and on the other hand, the film's technical aspects such as its cinematography, background score and de-aging effects, received praise.

At the heart of this reimagining is Mason Thames as Hiccup, the inventive young Viking whose bond with the elusive Night Fury, Toothless, becomes a symbol of empathy and bravery. BAFTA nominee Nico Parker shines as the fearless Astrid, while Gerard Butler reprises his commanding role as Stoick the Vast, Hiccup's formidable father and Berk's chief. Set in a world where dragons are seen as enemies, the story follows Hiccup's choice to spare a dragon's life—a moment that transforms not just his destiny, but the future of his people. The live-action version reinforces the coming-of-age themes that made the original beloved while adding new emotional and visual layers.
