
Gold prices in Pakistan continue upward trend amid global surge
Gold prices in the local market continued their upward trajectory on Tuesday, mirroring the surge in global demand and record-high international rates.
In the international bullion market, the price of gold rose by $10 per ounce, reaching $3,357. This upward movement contributed to continued price hikes in domestic markets.
According to local jewellers, the price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs1,000 per tola, bringing it to Rs354,100. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs857, reaching Rs303,583.
Silver prices also witnessed an increase. The price of silver rose by Rs130 per tola to reach Rs3,586, while the rate for 10 grams climbed by Rs112 to settle at Rs3,084.

Gold price per tola sheds Rs1,100 in Pakistan
Gold prices in Pakistan decreased on Tuesday in line with their loss in the international market. In the local market, gold price per tola reached Rs356,600 after a decline of Rs1,100 during the day. As per the rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), 10-gram gold was sold at Rs305,727 after it shed Rs943. On Monday, gold price per tola reached Rs357,700 after a gain of Rs1,500 during the day. The international rate of gold also saw a decrease today. The rate was at $3,339 per ounce (with a premium of $20), a loss of $11, as per APGJSA. Meanwhile, silver price per tola remained unchanged at Rs4,031.

LSE Ventures approves stock split from Rs10 to Rs5 per share

'The approval is hereby accorded for subdivision of the authorized capital of LSE Ventures Limited from Rs3,000,000,000/- divided into 300,000,000 ordinary shares of Rs10.00 each to Rs3,000,000,000/- divided into 600,000,000 ordinary shares of Rs5.00 each.' 'Board of Directors of the company authorized to determine the entitlement dates and book closure dates to effectuate the stock-split,' it added. LSE Ventures Limited was established on Jul 18, 2022, with the purpose of holding the legacy capital market infrastructure investments that had been made during the time of the functioning of the former Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE). The principal activity of the company is to source and invest capital in growth oriented enterprises and emerging ventures generating positive cash flows.

PSX sustains momentum, KSE-100 crosses 149,000 milestone

Photo: Reuters/ File The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) remained unstoppable on Tuesday as the KSE-100 index crossed 149,000 points in intra-day trading, setting a new milestone in its record-breaking rally. KSE-100 index rising 1,006.96 points to reach the current index of 149,203.38 during intra-day trading as compared to the previous close of 148,196.42. During the session, the index hit a high of 149,367.31 and a low of 148,293.94. Trading volume stood at 105.68 million shares, while the value of transactions reached Rs10.77 billion. The market registered a 0.68% increase, reflecting continued investor confidence. Earlier on Monday, the KSE-100 index recorded an increase of 1,704.79 points, or 1.16%, and settled at 148,196.42. According to Topline Securities, bulls staged a strong comeback in Monday's trading session, with the KSE-100 index surging 1,904 points intra-day before closing at an all-time high of 148,196, up 1,705 points. Market sentiment brightened on reports of the government's circular debt reform drive, which entails reducing liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes, revising RLNG pricing and mobilising funds from savings through LNG diversion, state-owned enterprises' dividends and power sector receivables, it said. Fitch expects lower interest rates, better credit growth and reduced reliance on public-sector lending to benefit banks JS Global analyst Muhammad Hasan Ather said that the KSE-100 index surged 1.2% to close at a record high, driven by strong corporate earnings, improved macroeconomic indicators and expectations of favourable inflation data. WorldCall Telecom was the volume leader with trading in 40.7 million shares, falling Rs0.01 to close at Rs1.40. It was followed by Pervez Ahmed Consultancy with 29.8 million shares, gaining Rs0.18 to close at Rs2.82 and Al-Shaheer Corporation with 26.4 million shares, gaining Rs0.52 to close at Rs12.24. Foreign investors sold shares worth Rs625 million, the National Clearing Company reported.
