Here's what brokerages expect from Bajaj Auto ahead of Q1 results on Aug 6

Bajaj Auto Q1 results preview: Two-wheeler giant Bajaj Auto is set to announce its June quarter (Q1FY26) results on Wednesday, August 6. Brokerages expect the company to report modest revenue growth in the range of 2.7-6.3 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y), driven by strong export performance and marginal improvement in realisations. However, domestic volume weakness and adverse foreign exchange movement are seen weighing on overall performance. Ebitda margins are likely to decline 45-60 basis points (bps) Y-o-Y due to elevated raw material costs, higher ocean freight rates, and price competition. Profit after tax (PAT) is expected to remain flat or grow marginally by up to 2.9 per cent Y-o-Y. Despite near-term headwinds, analysts remain positive on Bajaj Auto's export-driven momentum and resilient product mix. Apart from that, in July 2025, the company's total sales rose 3 per cent Y-o-Y to 3,66,000 units compared to 3,54,169 units in July 2024. On the bourses, Bajaj Auto shares were buzzing in Monday's session, rising as much as 1.89 per cent to an intraday high of ₹8,192.45. Around 11:30 AM, the Bajaj Auto share was trading 1.51 per cent higher at ₹8,161.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 0.38 per cent at 80,908.81. Given this, here's what brokerages expect from Bajaj Auto in Q1 results: HDFC Securities: Analysts at HDFC Securities expects realisations to remain largely flat on a sequential basis as an unfavourable domestic product mix is likely to offset gains from a stronger export mix. While the company implemented price hikes due to OBD-2 norms, these are expected to be neutralised by higher discounts and adverse forex movement. The brokerage projects Ebitda margins to decline, following stability in the previous year, due to increased raw material costs and a spike in ocean freight rates. Accordingly, it estimates revenue at ₹12,244.9 crore, marking a 2.7 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) increase, with Ebitda margin at 19.8 per cent, down 45 basis points (bps) Y-o-Y, and profit after tax (PAT) at ₹2,003.2 crore, a marginal rise of 0.7 per cent Y-o-Y. Nuvama: The brokerage expects volume growth and better realisations to support slight revenue growth on a Y-o-Y basis. However, it anticipates Ebitda margin contraction due to weaker gross margins. The brokerage believes the key factors to watch will be demand visibility and timelines for new product launches. It estimates revenue at ₹12,288.4 crore, up 3 per cent Y-o-Y, with Ebitda flat at ₹2,409.9 crore, and adjusted PAT at ₹2,023.7 crore, reflecting a 2 per cent Y-o-Y increase. Kotak Institutional Equities: Those at Kotak Institutional Equities noted that volumes likely rose 1.1 per cent Y-o-Y in Q1FY26, aided by a 32 per cent Y-o-Y surge in the export three-wheeler segment and a 14 per cent Y-o-Y rise in the export two-wheeler segment, both benefiting from a favourable base. These gains are expected to be partly offset by a low single-digit decline in domestic three-wheeler volumes and a high single-digit drop in domestic two-wheeler volumes. The brokerage forecasts revenue growth of 3.1 per cent Y-o-Y to ₹12,303.2 crore, driven by a combination of volume gains and a 2 per cent increase in average selling prices (ASPs) on account of a richer export mix and PLI incentives. However, it expects Ebitda margin, including PLI, to fall 60 bps on a sequential basis due to commodity cost pressures, price cuts in competitive segments, and INR appreciation against the USD, partially offset by the favourable product mix. It expects adjusted net profit to decline 1.5 per cent Y-o-Y to ₹2,018.6 crore, with overall volumes estimated at 11,11,237 units. InCred Equities: Analysts at InCred Equities holds a more optimistic view and anticipates a healthy performance from Bajaj Auto in Q1FY26, led by strong export growth, lower input costs, and a favourable product mix. Despite softness in domestic volumes, the brokerage maintains a positive stance on the company due to its export strength and margin resilience. It projects revenue at ₹12,678.8 crore, representing a 6.3 per cent Y-o-Y rise, with Ebitda expected at ₹2,595.4 crore, up 6 per cent Y-o-Y, and adjusted PAT at ₹2,109.1 crore, indicating a 2.9 per cent Y-o-Y increase.

ITR Filing 2025: Selected New Tax Regime? Check Slab-Wise Tax Rates If Your Income Exceeds Rs 12 Lakh

New Delhi: With the income tax return (ITR) filing date extended to September 15, taxpayers have more time to decide whether to choose the old or new tax regime. Salaried employees or pensioners without business income can change their tax regime at any time prior to filing their ITR every year by simply selecting the relevant option on the ITR-1 or ITR-2 form. With commercial or professional income, the regulations are stricter. Only once in your lifetime may you return to the old tax regime, and the choice is locked afterwards. For this change, you must file Form 10-IEA before the filing date. The new tax regime will take effect by default if you miss filing this form. If you are confused about choosing which regime, you should be aware that House Rent Allowance (HRA), Leave Travel Allowance (LTA), deductions under Sections 80C to 80U, and home loan interest under Section 24(b) are only available under the old tax regime. New Tax Regime: What Will Be Slab-Wise Tax Rates If Your Income Exceeds Rs 12 Lakh The new regime has fewer deductions, but individuals with taxable income up to Rs 12 lakh get a full tax rebate under the new regime. Your entire income will be taxed slab-wise if your taxable income exceeds Rs 12 lakh. The slabs are zero tax for the initial Rs 4 lakh, 5 per cent tax on Rs 4 lakh to Rs 8 lakh, 10 per cent on Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh, 15 per cent on Rs 12 lakh to Rs 16 lakh, and so forth. Importantly, the new regime allows only limited benefits under Sections 80CCD(2) and 80CCH(2), excluding the broader 80C basket popular among salaried taxpayers. Before choosing a regime, consider your income, pay structure, and tax-saving investments. Salaried individuals with minimal deductions may benefit from the new regime. If you can claim substantial deductions under Sections 80C, 80D, HRA, or house loan interest, the old regime may be more beneficial. Also, note that you have losses from house property, capital gains, or business income; they cannot be carried forward under the new regime. This may affect future tax liabilities, so consider it before deciding. As a general rule of thumb, tax experts say that the old tax regime will only be advantageous to taxpayers who are eligible to claim Rs 2 lakh deduction for home loan interest under Section 24(b) or a large house rent allowance (HRA). Most other deductions are unlikely to justify remaining with the old regime.

Metro Rail steps on the gas for road-widening works in Old City

Hyderabad: The road widening works for the proposed Metro Rail corridor between MGBS and Chandrayangutta in the Old City have gained momentum. HAML Managing Director NVS Reddy stated that the alignment has been carefully designed to be optimal while minimising the number of affected properties. The properties were reduced to 900 from earlier marked 1,100 properties. The MD mentioned that daily review meetings are being conducted with engineering and revenue officials to monitor progress. 'Initially, we estimated that around 1,100 properties would be impacted. However, through engineering redesign and realignment, we have brought that number down to about 900,' said NVS Reddy. So far, awards have been issued for 412 properties, and demolition work has been completed for 380 properties. Compensation totalling Rs 360 crore has already been disbursed to affected property owners. Reddy acknowledged the many challenges faced during the land acquisition and demolition process. 'In this dense urban area, houses are closely packed, and many overhead electricity cables and utility lines pose additional complexity. We're proceeding cautiously to avoid disruptions and are carrying out works mainly at night to minimise inconvenience to the public,' he added. A detailed action plan has been prepared to acquire the remaining properties and complete demolitions quickly. On the construction front, the groundwork for starting metro works is underway. Locations for upcoming metro pillars have been identified and marking work has commenced. The pillars, which will support the viaduct, will be spaced approximately 25 meters (about 82 feet) apart. To prepare for metro stations and pillars, a geotechnical agency has been appointed to conduct soil bearing capacity tests, which will begin shortly. A DGPS survey has also been carried out to finalize locations without disturbing historical or sensitive structures. Temporary Bench Mark (TBM) locations have been fixed on the ground to aid in survey work during the construction phase. In the areas where metro stations and pillars will be located, arrangements are being made to shift underground sewerage, water pipelines, stormwater drains, and overhead electricity lines. As per the directions of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, all overhead electric lines will be converted to underground cabling. Reddy informed that departments like the Water Board, GHMC, and TSSPDCL have been asked to submit their estimates in the coming days. Metro officials, along with field staff from respective departments, are working round-the-clock to identify and safeguard key utilities, ensuring seamless coordination for swift execution of the project.
