Citing that working towards the dubious agenda of the RSS will saffronise and destroy the reputation of the position of vice chancellors, Bindu said that the participating officers will have to keep their heads down before the academic society. Adding that the Sangh Parivar has turned against Kerala with their hatred, she mentioned that the outfit is trying to tie the state to the Brahminical values. "Sangh is trying to create an ideological atmosphere in universities and higher education centres that will aid them to build a religious nation based on Manu's scriptures," the minister stated.
Criticisms were raised from multiple corners regarding the vice chancellors attending the Jnana Sabha, organised by a Sangh organisation, Shiksha Samskriti Utthan Nyas. Vice chancellors of Kerala, Calicut, Kannur and KUFOS universities reportedly attended the conclave.

Act against publisher of book about changing Constitution: NCP (SP)
P une: NCP (SP) members held a protest at the district collector's office on Thursday demanding action against the publisher of a book which advocates changing the Constitution. The party's city unit chief Prashant Jagtap alleged, "The RSS's goal of 'constitutional change' is gaining momentum over the last 11 years with an RSS-led govt in the country. A book titled 'Samvidhan Ka Badlave?' (Why change the Constitution?) was published in the city a few days ago. It was possible because of the confidence prevailing under such a govt." He said, "Pune police's restriction on the book was a mere show. The publication ceremony proceeded smoothly and police took no action against organisers of the event." RSS, VHP hail court's decision on Malegaon blast
Hailing the Special National Investigative Agency (NIA) court's verdict on the acquittal of all seven accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Thursday (July 31, 2025) said that the malicious attempt to link the Hindu religion and the entire Hindu society with terrorism failed, and the truth came out in the open. Commenting on the judgment, Sunil Ambekar, national publicity in-charge of RSS, said, 'Some people misused power for personal and political gains and made a malicious attempt to link the Hindu religion and the entire Hindu society with terrorism. On the basis of the long judicial process and facts, the court has defeated those baseless allegations with its decision today.' Alok Kumar, International President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), also welcomed the court's verdict and said that there was also an attempt to implicate top leaders of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the RSS in this case. '..... is not just about the seven acquitted individuals but also about the conspiracy to defame the entire Hindu community has collapsed today,' Mr. Kumar said. The court in Mumbai on Thursday acquitted all seven accused, noting there was 'no reliable and cogent evidence' against them. Terrorism has no religion, the court said, adding it cannot convict on mere perception. The acquittal came 17 years after a blast in Malegaon town in which six people had lost their lives and several were left injured. Former BJP MP Pragya Thakur, Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Purohit, Major Ramesh Upadhyay (Retd.), Ajay Rahirkar, Sudhakar Dwivedi, Sudhakar Chaturvedi, and Sameer Kulkarni were accused in the case.

‘Evil attempt' to malign Hindus rejected: RSS, VHP welcome 2008 Malegaon blast verdict
Earlier in the day, a special NIA court in Mumbai while delivering its verdict in the 2008 Malegaon blast case noted that the prosecution failed to provide reliable evidence against the accused. In a statement released Thursday, RSS's publicity in-charge Sunil Ambekar said, 'On the basis of some selfish motives, political selfishness and personal interests, an evil attempt was made to link the entire Hindu dharma and Hindu community to terrorism. With the court's verdict today, all those attempts and allegations have been declared baseless.' New Delhi: The malicious attempt to link Hindu religion and Hindu society with terror stands rejected, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) said on a special NIA court acquitting all seven accused including former BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur in the 2008 Malegaon blast case. A similar demand was made by the BJP with senior party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad demanding an apology from former Congress presidents Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. 'P. Chidambaram brought up the issue of what he called 'saffron terrorism', while addressing the annual conference of DGPs and IGPs on 25 August, 2010. It was Sushil Kumar Shinde, who, as Union home minister, talked about 'saffron terrorism' as well.
