Megan Thee Stallion shooting: Rep. Luna says she has new evidence
'Based on the evidence that I've seen, Tory is innocent,' Luna said Tuesday on NewsNation's 'CUOMO.' 'We are calling on Gavin Newsom to issue that pardon immediately.'
The Florida congresswoman, who serves on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, said her office was presented with evidence that 'actually disproved the conviction' of Lanez, who was sentenced to 10 years behind bars in 2022.
Luna specifically cited DNA evidence that she says undermines the case.
'They actually found four people's DNA on that firearm, none of which was Tory's. Not to mention there was zero fingerprints on the actual magazine,' she said.
Tory Lanez stabbed in prison, reports say
She also referenced what she called 'Ring footage that's been obtained that actually disproves the whole 'dance Megan'' scenario described in court testimony, where Lanez allegedly told Megan to dance before shooting at her feet.
Luna said she has reached out to Newsom's office requesting an 'emergency meeting' and is working with Democratic colleagues from California on the issue.
The congresswoman said she spoke with Lanez, who was recently stabbed 14 times while incarcerated. According to Luna, Lanez plans to work on prison reform once released.
Lanez was convicted after testimony from Megan Thee Stallion, her friend Kelsey Harris, and DNA evidence that prosecutors said linked him to the weapon. The shooting occurred in July 2020 after a party at Kylie Jenner's Hollywood Hills home.
Luna said her involvement in the case began after being approached by model and television personality Amber Rose.

Elizabeth Holmes billboards cropping up around the country
(NewsNation) — Elizabeth Holmes may currently be incarcerated at a Texas prison camp, but supersized images of the disgraced Theranos founder have appeared in California, Florida and New York City's Times Square. There's one man behind the attention-catching billboards: Ryan 'Egypt' El-Hosseiny, a Miami-based entrepreneur who claims he has recreated Holmes' blood-testing technology. Holmes was convicted in 2022 for defrauding investors with false claims of what her California-based startup, Theranos, could accomplish. Her technology, which she said could detect diseases and conditions from a few drops of blood, never worked. Los Angeles DA pushes against Menendez brothers' bid for new trial El-Hosseiny is trying his best to brand the Holmes muse as 'innocent,' one billboard at a time. A self-described 'accomplished filmmaker,' El-Hosseiny is working on 'Just Blood,' a potential documentary that would reframe Holmes and her doomed startup, according to the Hollywood Reporter. He's also branded himself and Holmes as 'the inventors' on some of the signs, and claims to have relaunched Theranos this year. Ghislaine Maxwell should be sent back to Florida prison: Alicia Arden He told media in Florida that the billboards are part of his mission to 'free Elizabeth Holmes ' and 'take on Big Pharma.' 'I am not a sock puppet in the healthcare space,' El-Hosseiny wrote in a statement to the Miami New Times. 'I am an innovator, an inventor, and put quality products before profits. No one did their homework on Theranos. I did, and I'm here today.' In Februrary, Holmes attempted to have her fraud conviction overturned, but a federal appeals court countered she hadn't proved there were legal missteps during her trial. Trump's border czar whines about ‘bad timing' of South Park amid deportation push that ‘made a joke of ICE agents'
Border czar Tom Homan is not happy with South Park's latest episode mocking the Trump administration's mass deportation plan by ridiculing Immigration and Customs Enforcement as well as Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Joining Chris Cuomo on his News Nation show on Thursday evening, Homan remained straight-faced while talking about the satirical show's depiction of ICE recruiting unqualified citizens to conduct immigration raids while covering their faces in shame. 'I thought the parody was just in bad form and certainly, certainly bad timing,' Homan said on Cuomo. Homan, who served as the acting director of ICE during Trump's first administration, said the show was wrong to poke fun at ICE agents who often wear face coverings, hats, and sunglasses to protect their identities. Homan claimed rhetoric that mocks ICE 'emboldened' the 'small percentage of the left' who assault ICE officers to continue attacks. He claimed that assaults on ICE agents were up 'over a thousand percent.' 'Whether it's throwing Molotov cocktails or threatening ICE agents, or putting hands on ICE agents, they feel emboldened the more and more they see this bad rhetoric coming out,' Homan said Public reaction to immigration raids has mainly been adverse and spurred some attacks on ICE agents, including doxxing incidents in which people have shared information about the person behind the ICE uniform. Some ICE agents have also become targets of violent physical attacks and Molotov cocktail attacks. To counteract incidents, ICE agents have tried to conceal their identities while on the job, and the federal government has used the National Guard or military to protect agents as they take suspects into custody. South Park's latest episode, titled 'Got a Nut,' aimed at the Trump administration, in a similar manner to the season 27 premiere. This time, it critiqued the Trump administration's anti-immigration agenda. In the episode, Noem is depicted as a dog-shooting law enforcement officer who asks ICE recruits to racially profile people while conducting immigration raids. Mr. Mackey, the dim-witted guidance counselor at South Park Elementary School, decides to sign up to be an ICE agent to increase funding to the school, which has been reduced as a result of government cuts – a reference to the Department of Government Efficiency's work. The joke is that ICE has low standards when hiring recruits. In the episode, Vice President JD Vance is also featured as Trump's physically small sidekick. In a statement from the Department of Homeland Security, a spokesperson said, 'We want to thank South Park for drawing attention to ICE law enforcement recruitment. We are calling on patriotic Americans to help us remove murderers, gang members, pedophiles, and other violent criminals from our country. 'Benefits available to new ICE recruits include an up to $50,000 signing bonus, student loan forgiveness, and retirement benefits,' the statement continued. Homan echoed the benefits of joining ICE on Thursday evening, saying that the agency chose to open up the opportunity to recruits because it was in such high demand. Solve the daily Crossword
