Has Steph Miligan left Emmerdale for good as Georgia Jay departs?

Metro9 hours ago
This article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that has not aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.
Steph Miligan (Georgia Jay) recently reconciled with Ross Barton (Mike Parr) in Emmerdale after a bit of timely intervention by Ross's brother Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches).
Ross and Steph had formed quite a bond after getting together initially through a combination of lust and Steph wanting to wind her parents up. The relationship evolved into one of genuine affection on both sides.
But then Steph learned that her beloved grandfather Anthony (Nicholas Day) was actually her biological father after he abused her mum, Ruby (Beth Cordingly). And then she found that Ruby had killed Anthony and his body had been disposed of by John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) in an as yet to be disclosed location.
In the aftermath of discovering Anthony's abuse, Steph became fixated on her resemblance to him and was so desperate she even tried to have surgery to alter her appearance.
Ross wanted to support her through this hard time, but she pushed him away. She's since been going to therapy to try to help her move on.
Lewis's recent match-making brought the two back together again, and this time Steph felt comfortable enough for them to sleep together.
After this, Ross declared that there hadn't been anyone else in his life since he and Steph broke up, casually omitting to mention he'd had a fling with Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker).
This was exposed by Manpreet while in the cafe with Lewis and Ruby, who were gossiping about her love life – or lack thereof.
Manpreet casually confirmed she slept with Ross just as he walked into the cafe with Steph. Unaware that the couple were back together, Manpreet didn't realise she had unintentionally just exposed Ross as a liar.
Steph, who had worked hard to tell herself that she could trust Ross again, was devastated and made it clear she didn't want to continue their relationship.
And even Ross admitting that he was in love with Steph wasn't enough!
In the episode of the ITV soap that airs this evening, Steph tells her parents that she's booked a yoga retreat in Rome. She wants to get away from the village for a while, and Ruby and Caleb (William Ash) are very understanding.
Just as she gets into the taxi, Ross tries to get her to change her mind, but Steph doesn't want to be anywhere near him.
Steph's departure ties in with Georgia Jay's maternity leave, following the announcement she is expecting her first baby. As ever with temporary departures, we will see Steph again soon, but just when that will be remains unknown at the moment.
Announcing her pregnancy on Instagram, Georgia wrote back in June: 'As you've probably guessed, I've got some news to share! I know some of you have been wondering if you've been seeing a little bump on screen lately… well, it's not your imagination…I'm having a baby!'.
She added: 'We've never been so excited and a little nervous all at once. Thank you for all the love and support.'
In upcoming episodes Ruby decides to confront Manpreet at the surgery about her fling with Ross.

Manpreet's embarrassed and later on turns up at the Depot to retaliate. Ruby refuses to speak to her, so Manpreet hijacks a forklift and refuses to get off until Ruby talks to her. More Trending
Goading Ruby, Manpreet brings up the subject of her ill-advised dalliance with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) on the day of Moira (Natalie J Robb)'s surgery.
Ruby brushes this off as it's old news, but when Manpreet mentions Steph, Ruby flips and attacks her.
The fight escalates and they're both eventually arrested and taken into custody – giving them ample opportunity to thrash out their differences.

Emmerdale teases 'more drama' ahead as Charity and Vanessa give into passion

Emmerdale has teased the fallout to Charity Dingle and ex Vanessa Woodfield's shock kiss on Thursday night, teasing their 'old spark was burning bright' on the ITV soap There was a tease of an Emmerdale reunion for Vanity, as Charity Dingle and Vanessa Woodfield shared a kiss on the ITV soap on Thursday night. But what happens next, and do the pair get back together? ‌ Viewers won't know until Friday's episode what happens after the pair gave into passion, years on from their split. But the soap has teased "more drama" will definitely be on the way, while remaining coy over what they mean and what it is linked to. ‌ It seems to be linked to Charity and Vanessa as it was revealed in a press release linked to the kiss on Thursday. It comes as Charity finds out she's pregnant next week, amid her agreeing to be a surrogate for her granddaughter Sarah Sugden. ‌ When Charity feared the embryo hadn't taken after experiencing bleeding this week, after the transfer procedure recently, she confided in Vanessa. Feeling that she couldn't be around her husband Mackenzie Boyd or Sarah, she hit the bottle and ended up at Vanessa's home. As they opened up, Vanessa tried her best to comfort a distraught Charity who was blaming herself. As Vanessa sat down beside her on the sofa, Charity refused to leave after she suggested helping her home. ‌ Charity told her she wasn't ready to go home, and didn't want to be around her household so Vanessa said she could stay. But when she offered to make up a bed for her, Charity made her intentions clear. Declining the offer of the spare room, or Tracy's room in tis case, she said she wouldn't go in there unless Vanessa stayed with her "to keep her company". Vanessa was taken aback but before she could say anything Charity leaned in and kissed her. ‌ Vanessa appeared to kiss her back, with the soap teasing "it looked as if their old spark was still burning bright". The episode ended there before we could see what happened next and how Vanessa responded. But a teaser for the fallout released by the soap in a press release read: "Stay watching as more drama is set to unfold." So what is this in reference to, and could there be more Vanity drama on the way? With Charity featuring in more scenes next week, spoilers have not suggested a split for her and Mack or anymore scenes with Vanessa. But with it being so top secret, perhaps spoilers have been left out on purpose. Fans will just have to wait and see where the kiss leads. ITV commissions true crime series about one of Britain's 'most prolific sex attackers'

A new true crime series about the victims of 'one of the most prolific sex attackers in British history' has been commissioned by ITV. The four-part drama, Believe Me, will recount the story of three victims who were assaulted by John Worboys after he went under the cover of a licensed taxi-cab driver and later given the name Black Cab Rapist by the media. Advertisement Written by Bafta-award winning screenwriter Jeff Pope, the series features Slow Horses star Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Industry's Miriam Petche and Bloods actress Aasiya Shah, who will play the women Worboys sexually assaulted. Writer, director and producer Jeff Pope (Lucy North/PA) Worboys will be played by English actor Daniel Mays, who is best known for A Thousand Blows. Pope said: 'The series goes on an emotional journey with the victims of Worboys' attacks, showing what happened to them when they reported being raped and assaulted, the pain and indignity of the process and how this dehumanised them. 'But most shocking of all is how they felt that not being believed by the police and having the attacks recorded, essentially, as non-crimes, was as traumatising for them as the actual assaults.' Advertisement The series follows two women as they report sexual assaults by Worboys and their fight to have their allegations believed and investigated by the Metropolitan Police, leading them to take legal action against the force under the Human Rights Act. Aimee-Ffion Edwards (PA) Directed by Julia Ford, the series is filmed in Cardiff and will be produced with support from the Welsh Government via Creative Wales. Polly Hill, director of Drama at ITV, said: 'We are really proud to be working with Jeff Pope to bring this important story to screen. 'For too long, the women were not heard by the police, resulting in more victims and ultimately resulting in a landmark case brought against the Met. Advertisement 'Jeff's scripts, as always, are brilliant in bringing this difficult but important story to screen, and I am delighted that Julia Ford will be directing the piece.' The drama will air on ITV1 and STV and be available for streaming on ITVX and STV Player. Emmerdale Vanessa and Charity kiss leaves fans 'screaming' as Vanity 'reunite'

Emmerdale's Vanity fans got the moment they'd longed for on Thursday night as Charity Dingle and Vanessa Woodfield shared a shock kiss on the ITV soap, teasing a reunion Vanity scenes in 2025 were not expected by Emmerdale fans, while they were hoped for. So as exes Charity Dingle and Vanessa Woodfield unexpectedly locked lips during Thursday's episode it certainly left fans talking, screaming and the rest. ‌ Charity chose to confide in her former fiancée in the latest episode, instead of her husband Mackenzie Boyd, after suffering from bleeding. Charity had recently had an embryo transfer procedure after agreeing to be a surrogate for her granddaughter Sarah Sugden. ‌ It comes as spoilers confirm next week Charity finds out she is pregnant, while it's been teased she could be hiding something. After suffering bleeding this week, on Thursday Charity hit the bottle, distraught that she'd "failed" Sarah believing the embryo had not taken. ‌ Vanessa reassured Charity, trying to stop her from blaming herself with her fearing she'd "let Sarah down" and not taken enough care. Vanessa rightly told her she was not at fault, and did her best to be there for her friend and ex. But things took a turn when Charity refused to leave after Vanessa suggested helping her home. Charity pleaded with her, telling her she wasn't ready to go home, and didn't want to be around her household. ‌ So Vanessa agreed for her to stay over, telling her she'd sort out her sister Tracy's room so she could sleep in there for the night. But Charity had other plans, declining the offer unless Vanessa stayed with her "to keep her company". Vanessa seemed taken aback but before she could say anything Charity leaned in and kissed her, with the episode very quickly coming to an end. Vanessa didn't appear to pull away, but the episode cut to the credits within seconds. ‌ So what does this mean for Vanity, and could it signal a reunion is on the cards? Viewers will have to tune in on Friday to find out what happens next and what it means for Charity's marriage to Mack. The moment left fans "screaming", thrilled over the twist with some hoping it would change everything. Taking to social media, one fan shared images of the scene and simply wrote: "SCREAMING." Another fan said: "VANITY KISS IN 2025 WE ARE SO BACK!!!" A third fan posted: "Can't believe it took 5 years but hopefully this is just the beginning of something beautiful blossoming between these two again. Emmerdale better not disappoint us anymore." A fourth fan wrote: "Five years late but welcome back Vanity." A firth viewer commented: "HOW IS THIS REAL? Vanity back in each other's arms in the year 2025?!??"
