Last Chance Prime Day Deal: The M4 Mac Mini Is the Best Value I've Found From Apple, and It's $100 Off
I bought the M4 Mac Mini last month after reading CNET laptop expert Joshua Goldman's review of the tiny machine. I was looking for a computer that would increase my productivity and better organize my workflow. During four weeks of use, I've found it to be the best value for money among Apple's lineup. For less than $600, you can get a more powerful computer than the $999 MacBook Air. Even better, it's now selling for $100 off for Amazon Prime Day. As a result, you can buy an M4 Mac Mini for as low as $500. That's a fantastic deal for work-from-home employees and creatives, but you'll need move quickly, since this deal is likely to disappear when Prime Day wraps up. The M4 Mac Mini, Apple's smallest computer, is an easy recommendation for me since it's one of CNET's picks for the best desktop computers of 2025. It's also our go-to for the best cheap desktop alternative to a MacBook or iMac. On Amazon, it's currently discounted by 9%, and Prime members can get an additional $46 off when they apply the on-page coupon. That's close to the lowest price we've seen on this powerful computer. The M4 Mac Mini has been my best tech investment this year The M4 Mac Mini plus Apple's current crop of USB-C Magic accessories make for a really nice portable computing solution. Add a portable monitor and you're set. Josh Goldman/CNET I've been joyfully surprised by the M4 Mac Mini's value proposition and how wonderful it's been for me to work from a desk. As a freelance remote worker, I travel for at least 10 days every month, so I need a portable computer. Based on my lifestyle, I should be recommending the M4 MacBook Air. But it's the remaining 20 days of the month that I need to work harder than usual to put together new pitches, deliver approved stories, sort admin tasks, conduct research and more. All this requires immense organization and productivity, and the M4 Mac Mini has helped make my life easier. This smallest of Apple's computers doesn't compromise on power. It features a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, 16GB of unified memory and a 256GB solid-state drive for storage. It's very powerful for a $599 machine and a bargain at $500. You likely won't be able to find similar reliability and power on a Windows machine for $500. I've tried and failed. And no, I'm not forgetting that the Mac Mini doesn't come with a display or a mouse and keyboard. I paired my M4 Mac Mini with a 27-inch LG UltraGear monitor (currently down to $180) and a Logitech mouse and keyboard combo -- all for under $200. The UltraGear's big screen is quite useful for research and multitasking, as well as watching movies. The M4 Mac Mini can be equally excellent for both home office and content creation needs. As CNET's Goldman wrote in his review, "The Mini can fit in your hand and be everything from an everyday home office computer to a full-on professional content-creation machine -- and an easily portable one at that -- with support for up to three 6K-resolution displays." My buying recommendation The M4 Mac Mini was launched in November 2024, and it's now available at a $100 discount, which is close to the lowest price we've seen. The small Apple computer offers a superb value proposition for remote workers and content creators alike. If you've been on the fence about getting a PC for home, like me, I'd say pick up a M4 Mac Mini and see the difference for yourself. Want to check out the competition? We've rounded up the best desktop computer deals from the likes of HP, Lenovo, Dell and, naturally, Apple. And if this desktop doesn't suit your taste, you can check out the best laptop deals.

Prime Day Summer Sales Event Tops Forecasts To Reach $24.1 Billion In Online Sales
The summer online Prime Day sales event, hosted by Amazon from July 8 to July 11 and which sparks a wave of competing online promotions, generated $24.1 billion in U.S. online sales – a 30.3% year-over-year increase that topped projections of $23.8 billion, according to Adobe. Prime packages are being delivered in Manhattan, New York City, United States of America on July ... More 6th, 2024. (Photo by Beata Zawrzel/NurPhoto via Getty Images) NurPhoto via Getty Images This year's Prime Day summer event got off to a slow start, with Tuesday, July 8 online sales totaling $7.9 billion, representing only a 9.9% increase over last year, but sales quickly picked up over day two through four. With new tariffs looming, consumers took advantage of deep discounts to shop ahead of price increases with especially strong online sales reported in office supplies (up 105%), electronics (+95%), books (+81%), tools and home improvement (+76%), home and garden (+58%) and baby/toddler (+55%). Kid's apparel, back to school supplies and dorm room essentials moved quickly, as did a wide range of typically higher-ticket items made more appealing by deep discounts, such as home appliances, furniture, computers, smartphone accessories, exercise equipment, power tools and small kitchen appliances. Mobile shopping accounted for just over half of Prime Day sales, making it the dominant transaction channel over desktop shopping. The industry's online Prime Day take added up to two 'Black Fridays,' which totaled $10.8 billion in online spending last year, and according to Adobe, 'sets a new benchmark for the summer shopping season.' Amazon launched Prime Day in 2015 as a single July day sales event that grew to two days in 2019 and, for the first time this year, it was extended to four days. Not to be outdone, retailers far and wide have leveled up with competing events, such as Walmart Deal Days and Target Circle Week. In effect, the Prime Day sales event has become a virtual discounters' arms race, with retailers locked in fierce competition to attract consumers' attention and spending. Adobe observed that many of this year's discounts were better than last year. For example, apparel was discounted an average of 24% from list price compared to 20% last year, toys were off 19% (vs. 15%), and appliances discounted 17% (vs. 14%). Crucial Quote 'The big story this year? The sheer excessiveness of it all. The unprecedented 4-day length, overlapping retailer events, massive deal depths, and deals dominating search results,' said Tristan Williams, Envision Horizons. 'Prime Day has evolved from a shopping event into a shopping season.' Sales promotions are a double-edged sword for retailers: they can drive increased traffic and sales, but at the cost of thinner margins and lower profits. They can also condition shoppers to wait for the next sale, creating a vicious cycle of delayed purchases and margin pressure. At Forbes Vetted, our tech and electronics editors have spent lots of time writing about—and personally testing—televisions. We've covered the best gaming TVs, the best outdoor TVs, the best 85-inch TVs and much more. The primary author of this story, Forbes Vetted tech and electronics editor Rebecca Isaacs, has spent more than five years covering consumer technology. She personally owns the Samsung Frame TV. Forbes Vetted executive editor Dave Johnson oversaw this story. He has spent decades reporting on consumer tech, writing about everything from cameras to watches to audio gear. The Forbes Vetted deals team has extensive experience in researching, compiling and reporting on the best sales across the internet. Here's how we sourced the best Prime Day TV deals of 2025: We incorporated options from brands that our team has personally tested. Our editors have thoroughly evaluated a variety of the included manufacturers in guides to the best TVs for bright rooms and the best outdoor TVs, for example. Our list was curated to include top-rated products that are now on rare discounts, including first-time price drops and all-time low (or nearly all-time low) sales. Inversely, we excluded deals that are regularly 'on sale' for the same price. Since the start of Prime Day on July 8, our team has been verifying the validity of our deals through price-tracking tools like CamelCamelCamel, only including those that have dropped to new or rare lows. With the latest advancements in tech, today's TVs can vary wildly in a number of essential features. Here are a few things to consider before making your purchase: Screen Type Manufacturers will put a lot of emphasis on display technology, and for good reason: Your overall screen resolution will directly affect your viewing experience. LED TVs are the most common (and budget-friendly) type of display, utilizing side lighting to amplify the colors on your screen. Mini-LEDs, on the other hand, employ thousands of LED backlights to make screens brighter and higher in contrast. When shopping for a high quality mini-LED option, look for TVs that have a large number of lights. Some of our favorites on this list include the Hisense Class U7 Mini-LED Google Smart TV and Hisense Class U6 Series Mini-LED 4K TV. QLEDs typically lack the back-lighting present in mini-LEDs, and instead rely on side-lighting for enhanced viewer experiences. Quantum dots are used in this tech to increase the vibrancy of colors. They're slotted between the LEDs and the LED panels, creating an expanded range of brightness. Finally, the fourth most common display tech you'll see in TVs today is OLED: an advanced system that employs self-lit pixels to create incredibly detailed, on-screen images. The cutting-edge tech behind these TVs often lead to higher price points that may or may not be worth it for some. Resolution Larger TVs often feature 4K screen quality—one of the highest resolutions available—to create crisp, crystal-clear pictures. This resolution draws out sharp details you might miss out on in TVs with lower resolutions, plus pairs well with OLED tech. We personally love the Sony A95K Bravia XR QD-OLED TV and LG C2 Series OLED Evo Smart TV, both on sale now while Prime Day sales are still ongoing. Smart Features If you're a Google Home or Alexa Smart Home household, you're in luck: the majority of TVs on the market today contain smart features that seamlessly blend with your existing home set-up. There's also plenty of perks you can enjoy depending on the OS they use: Google Smart TVs like the TCL QM7K 4K UHD Google Smart TV and Hisense Class U7 Mini-LED Google Smart TV, for example, have virtual assistants and can screen-cast with ease to your display. Amazon Smart Fire TVs, on the other hand, center all of your Amazon apps and streaming services on one page for ease of convenience. Alexa can also be used to browse through your content. The Toshiba LED 4K C350 Series Smart Fire TV and Hisense Class QD6 Series QLED 4K TV are two models we recommend, on-sale now for Prime Day. Does Prime Day Have Discounts on TVs? Prime Day has lots of good TV deals, and is currenty offering up to 60% in savings on big-name brands including Samsung, LG, Sony and more. Is Amazon Prime Day A Good Time To Buy A TV?
