Martinez, 27, is now facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford with Napoli reportedly interested.
Corriere dello Sport has claimed that the defender is being tracked by the Serie A champions.
Napoli are "monitoring" his recovery from the ACL injury that he suffered in February.
It is believed that the club are not concerned about his recent issues with injury.

To add, it is thought that Napoli's sporting director, Giovanni Manna, is a fan of Martinez.
It is not yet known whether or not Man United would cash in on the former Ajax man if the opportunity presented itself.
If a transfer to Napoli went through, then Martinez would reunite with former Red Devil Scott McTominay.
The Scottish ace made the switch last summer and has become a cult figure at the club.

McTominay's heroics have already seen him become a fan favourite at the club.
He cost Napoli just £25million, a fee that has proven to be a bargain.
Martinez joined Man United in 2022 in a £50m deal from Ajax.
He has made 91 appearances in all competitions for the club and won the FA Cup and League Cup.
Meanwhile, Man United have learned the wage demands of target Bryan Mbeumo.
The Brentford star is asking for a weekly wage of £250,000-a-week.

Huge fashion chain with 20 Scottish stores at risk of collapse as thousands of jobs in danger

A decision could be made in weeks CLOSURE FEARS Huge fashion chain with 20 Scottish stores at risk of collapse as thousands of jobs in danger Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A MAJOR fashion train with 20 stores across Scotland is at risk of collapse. Thousands of jobs are at risk at River Island where bosses have called in experts to put together a restructuring plan. River Island's official accounts for 2023 show the retailers made a £33.2m loss before tax. And their turnover plummeted by 19 per cent during the same time. No decision has yet to be made but it is understood a restructuring plan could be published in weeks. Businesses often put together a restructuring plan to prevent them from becoming insolvent and going out of business. The firm has been facing pressures from the online market where punters can buy their clothes quicker. Their most recent accounts statement to Companies House blamed "global events" for supply chain issues. It read: "The market for retailing of fashion clothing is fast changing with customer preferences for more diverse, convenient and speedier shopping journeys and with increasing competition especially in the digital space. "The key business risks for the group are the pressures of a highly competitive and changing retail environment combined with increased economic uncertainty. Final sales begin as popular clothing brand closes all stores leaving 'devastated' shoppers scrambling for alternative "A number of geopolitical events have resulted in continuing supply chain disruption as well as energy, labour and food price increases, driving inflation and interest rates higher and resulting in weaker disposable income and lower consumer confidence." River Island has twenty stores north of the border. A spokesperson for the store declined to comment to Sky.

Joshua has since had elbow surgery amid talks with Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh over a new multiple fight deal. And Spencer Brown - Fury's manager and associate of Alalshikh told Boxing News: 'First of all, I think they've got to sign the deal first. "That's the most important part. What they're very good at, the Saudi Arabians, is a course. A road, and they want to know what road it is. I've been rumped, that's it, fair play to them, they got their use out of me. 'But I'm happy, I am happy, content with what I have achieved and accomplished. The Kingston-upon-Thames schoolgirl was trying to become the first Brit to win the Roland Garros junior championship since Michelle Tyler in 1976. Wiping away the tears, she said: 'I want to start off by saying congratulations to Lilli. Honestly, you deserve it so much. 'You broke me mentally and physically today. It's been a long week. I'm really proud of myself. 'I'm very tired. It's been a long week. I want to thank my team for all of the hard work – it means a lot. 'The crowd, you were amazing, I've never played in an atmosphere like this so thank you so much. 'Hopefully I'll be back some time in the seniors, so thank you so much.' Seventeen-year-old Tagger – who did not drop a trophy set in the event – secured the title with a 23-minute second set, winning 24 out of 35 points.
