1 2 Jaipur: With a surge in applications for the certification course in Theatre and Performing Arts offered by Jai Narain Vyas University (JNVU), Jodhpur, this year the university is increasing the seats for the course, said officials Wednesday. The theatre cell of JNVU offers a six-month course, which has 30 seats but receives 70-80 applications. Started in 2022, the course continuously received double the applications, due to which five more seats are being added from this academic session, said officials. Hitendra Goyal, director of the theatre cell and assistant professor of English, said, "We have seen 70 to 80 applicants each year. This year, the university is planning to increase the number of available seats from 30 to 35." Online applications are open and the last date is June 7. Students with 50% marks in Class 12 are eligible. Officials said that after filling out the application form, auditions will be held by an expert committee, comprising renowned theatre artists BM Vyas, Vikram Singh Rathore, and Hitendra Goyal.
