RJD usurped poor people's land for jobs, alleges PM Modi at Bihar rally
He also accused the Congress-RJD combine of playing politics in the name of the poor and socially marginalised people and blamed both parties for the state's earlier neglect and stagnation.
Addressing a public rally in Motihari ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, the PM coined a new slogan, 'Banayenge naya Bihar, phir ek baar NDA sarkar' (We will build a new Bihar, once again an NDA government), igniting chants among the crowd and energising party workers.
The prime minister asserted that he took the resolve of Operation Sindoor from the land of Bihar, and said that the world has witnessed its success.
"The RJD can't think of providing employment to youths, as it usurped the land of the poor people before giving them jobs," the prime minister alleged.
He also asserted that there was a huge gap in development during the RJD-Congress rule in the state. "They never thought about the betterment of the poor. They only played politics in the name of the poor and the socially marginalised," Modi alleged.
Promising more opportunities for the youth, the PM said the Centre would invest Rs 1 lakh crore in providing jobs and employment across the country.

Cong slams govt over threat to migrant Muslims in state
Guwahati: Assam Congress has accused the state govt of failing to protect the constitutional rights of migrant Muslims of Bangladesh-origin, known as 'Miyas', in upper Assam. The party has criticized the govt for allegedly being a mute spectator as indigenous youth and student groups prevent these migrants from entering the region, calling it a blatant violation of their right to free movement. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Ripun Bora, former president of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, addressed the media at Rajiv Bhavan in Guwahati, highlighting the plight of workers from lower Assam who have been labeled as 'Miyas' and forced to flee. "These are Muslims seeking work and livelihood, not land grabbers," Bora asserted, emphasizing their contribution to the GDP. The Congress leader's remarks follow renewed threats from local groups demanding 'Miyas' leave upper Assam within 48 hours. Tensions escalated in Charaideo district when a Muslim family, armed with sharp weapons, confronted local organization members allegedly searching for migrant Muslims. The Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad has threatened a 100-hour bandh if their demands are not met. Bora expressed grave concern over the deteriorating situation, urging indigenous groups to maintain harmony and condemning the state govt's inaction. He accused the BJP-led govt, under CM , of failing to ensure public safety and criticized the chief minister's call for citizens to arm themselves. Bora demanded the governor dismiss CM Sarma, alleging that mob violence is occurring under his watch, leading to a severe breakdown of law and order. He reiterated the Congress party's stance on the Assam Accord, which mandates the deportation of anyone entering Assam after March 25, 1971, while condemning the harassment of Indian citizens. The Congress leader also took aim at Sarma's policies, questioning his commitment to Assamese identity and nationalism. "How can someone who disregards the Assam Accord and enforces the CAA claim to love Assam?" Bora challenged, calling for immediate action to restore peace and order in the state.

Centre okays T to reschedule Rs 25k cr high interest loans
Hyderabad: In a significant financial relief for Telangana, the Centre has reportedly agreed to restructure high interest loans taken by the state over the past decade. Sources said the Reserve Bank of India has approved the repayment of nearly Rs 25,000 crore in fresh borrowings over the next two years — at lower interest rates and with longer repayment periods. The move is expected to save Telangana around Rs 2,000 crore annually, compared to the burden under previous terms. On Aug 5, the RBI disbursed Rs 5,000 crore, which the state govt immediately used to clear old, high interest loans availed from the Rural Electrification Corporation (REC). These borrowings, scheduled for repayment over 10 years, placed a heavy fiscal load on the state exchequer due to their high servicing costs. In contrast, RBI loans come with lower interest rates (7% to 7.5%) and longer tenures of 25 to 30 years, offering significant relief. By comparison, loans from the REC carried an 11% interest rate and a 10-year repayment term, which became increasingly unsustainable. Chief minister A Revanth Reddy had repeatedly urged the Centre to allow rescheduling of such liabilities. Following a detailed review of Telangana's fiscal health, the Union finance ministry agreed to the proposal. In a parallel development, the Centre had earlier brought all off-budget borrowings under the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) framework, which reduced Telangana's eligibility to raise funds from the RBI during 2020–21. After these corporate loans were clubbed under FRBM, the state govt intensified its push for rescheduling, which was now accepted by the Centre. The state has raised funds through monthly bond issuances. With the RBI's green light, it can now rework the Rs 25,000 crore loan burden over two years. Funds raised from bond issues, such as the Rs 5,000 crore obtained recently, will be used solely to retire high-interest loans, not for new programmes or expenditure. Financial analysts said this restructuring will ease fiscal pressure and save nearly Rs 2,000 crore per year, giving the state room to stabilise its economy. Kids to hoist tricolour as BJP aims to counter PDA pathshala
Lucknow: In a strategic counter to Samajwadi Party's 'PDA pathshala', the BJP has asked its functionaries to get tricolour hoisted by children during the upcoming 'Tiranga Yatra' scheduled to be carried out by the party from Aug 10-15 as part of Independence Day celebrations . In a communique sent to all regional presidents, district in charges and district presidents, state BJP vice-president Manvendra Singh said that the party functionaries should try to get a tricolour hoisted in maximum possible households across the state. "Wherever possible, get it done by children," Singh said. BJP sources said that the party has tasked its functionaries to hoist at least 500 tricolours in each of the 1.6 lakh polling booths. The campaign will essentially be carried out with the help of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and Mahila Morcha of the BJP. UP BJYM state general secretary Varun Goyal affirmed that the campaign will be carried out even more aggressively in areas where the SP has attempted to set up 'PDA pathshalas' to "influence" the tender minds of children. "We will counter the opposition's casteist approach with a nationalist narrative," he said, asserting that the yuva morcha would reach out to the students in schools and colleges across the state. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 100% Online, Flexible Learning BITS Pilani Digital Apply Now Undo The development comes days after a SP functionary Farhad Alam initiated a PDA pathshala in Saharanpur where children were taught lessons like 'A' for Akhilesh Yadav, 'B' for Babasaheb Ambedkar, 'C' for Chaudhary Charan Singh, 'D' for Dimple Yadav and 'M' for Mulayam Singh Yadav. The development stung the BJP with the party state president Bhupendra Chaudhary terming it a conspiracy to mix political poison in the tender consciousness of children. He termed it as an attempt of "Samajwadi brainwash". Analysts said that BJP's choice of children for hoisting the national flag was more of a symbolic retort to SP's PDA pathshala which sought to indoctrinate the children with the names of prominent party leaders besides Dalit and OBC figures. A political expert said that the BJP intended to depict the party as promoting "national pride" over caste identity. BJP's goal of unfurling 500 tricolours at each of the 1.6 lakh polling booths also reflected its trademark booth-level micro-management strategy. The move, analysts said, was less about symbolism and more about mass contact and visibility, which can bolster supporters' loyalty. Singh's letter also makes an open reference to the success of 'Operation Sindoor' which was carried out in May post the Apr 22 attack in Pahalgam in which 26 people, primarily tourists, were killed by terrorists. "This is a new, prosperous and powerful self-reliant India under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. Every proud Indian celebrated the success of Operation Sindoor with a tricolour in hand," he said. Singh also referred to Modi's description of the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament as one dedicated to the victory of Indian military which destroyed the terror launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) besides targeting Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen facilities.
