RJD usurped poor people's land for jobs, alleges PM Modi at Bihar rally
He also accused the Congress-RJD combine of playing politics in the name of the poor and socially marginalised people and blamed both parties for the state's earlier neglect and stagnation.
Addressing a public rally in Motihari ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, the PM coined a new slogan, 'Banayenge naya Bihar, phir ek baar NDA sarkar' (We will build a new Bihar, once again an NDA government), igniting chants among the crowd and energising party workers.
The prime minister asserted that he took the resolve of Operation Sindoor from the land of Bihar, and said that the world has witnessed its success.
"The RJD can't think of providing employment to youths, as it usurped the land of the poor people before giving them jobs," the prime minister alleged.
He also asserted that there was a huge gap in development during the RJD-Congress rule in the state. "They never thought about the betterment of the poor. They only played politics in the name of the poor and the socially marginalised," Modi alleged.
Promising more opportunities for the youth, the PM said the Centre would invest Rs 1 lakh crore in providing jobs and employment across the country.

The proposed caste census to be taken up by the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre will be as per the Constitution to provide 'real justice' to the Backward Classes (BC) unlike the 'useless' caste socio-economic survey taken up by the Congress government in Telangana which seeks to 'cheat' them by including Muslims in the BCc quota, said Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy on Friday. 'Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy should explain how the BCs can benefit when his government survey has reduced the numbers to 46% of the population and cutting down the quota benefit further by seeking to include 10% Muslims who will anyway get benefit from the 10% EWS — economically weaker sections quota,' he told a press conference in New Delhi. The High Court had struck down the 4% quota for Muslims when they were included in BC-E category by the then Congress government led by Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy but it is being implemented with the existing stay order in the Supreme Court. The current government intends to increase the same to 10% depriving the BCs of their rights as their quota gets reduced to 32%, he maintained. Mr. Kishan Reddy's contention is that 10% quota to Muslims benefits the Majlis Party and Congress leaders more. In this context, he referred to the GHMC elections where most of the BC reserved divisions were bagged by the Majlis Party in the last elections. The BJP leader said it was unbecoming of the Chief Minister to speak sarcastically about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's caste as 'converted caste' and has pointed out that inclusion of castes into SC/ST/BC has been a continuous process. Mr. Modi's caste was included by the then Congress governments based on the Mandal Commission report. The Congress has never made a BC as either PM or CM in its history plus did not bother to take up caste census or provide quota to BCs when in power. The Minister said the Congress government should follow the High Court order and conduct the local body polls within September and also implement the promised 42% quota for BCs even while 'genuine' BCs get the benefit.

India will extend a $565 million line of credit to the Maldives as part of a renewed push to deepen bilateral ties, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday, following high-level talks with Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu in Male. The two sides also agreed to begin negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and move forward on a bilateral investment treaty, signalling a broader economic and strategic reset after months of strained relations. 'India is also proud to be the most trusted friend of the Maldives,' PM Modi said after the meeting, highlighting the island nation's significance in India's 'Neighbourhood First' and 'MAHASAGAR' (Maritime and Security and Growth for All in the Region) vision. The Rs 4,850 crore credit line — equivalent to nearly $565 million — is expected to finance infrastructure and development projects in the Maldives, where India is seeking to maintain influence amid a growing Chinese presence. The two leaders also reaffirmed mutual cooperation in defence and maritime security. 'Mutual cooperation in the field of defence and security is a testament to mutual trust,' PM Modi said, adding, 'India will always support the Maldives to strengthen its defence capabilities.' The meeting marks the first in-person interaction between Modi and Muizzu since the latter took office last year amid tensions over his pro-China tilt and calls for Indian military personnel to leave the island nation, which was implemented shortly after his electoral win. Modi landed in the Maldives on Friday (July 25) for a two-day official visit, where he will serve as the chief guest at the country's 60th Independence Day celebrations. Upon arrival, he was welcomed by Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu, and was greeted with a traditional cultural performance by schoolchildren. This marks the first official state visit hosted by President Muizzu since he assumed office in November 2023, according to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
