The best pictures as Welsh-language festival Tafwyl attracts thousands
Welsh festival Tafwyl, which took place in Cardiff's gorgeous Bute Park on Saturday, June 14, and Sunday, June 15, certainly does a very good job bringing together a lot of Welsh culture. There is so much to enjoy at Tawfyl, from the two music stages, endless food options, children's area, and more.
As soon as you enter you are hit by the delicious smell of a range of street food and nearly overwhelmed with the Instagram opportunities, as two lovely signs declaring Tafwyl welcome you in.
After that, you could mingle and mooch around the trade stalls which are fronted by Welsh artists, designers, and makers, selling everything from prints to jewellery and more.
The festival was home to the Tafiliwn stage and the main stage, Prif Lwyfan.
Here Welsh artists from across the country took to the stage bringing everything from rap to even renditions of Dolly Parton and Abba in Welsh.
Lining the sides of this are the amazing food traders including Hoggi Hoggi Hoggi, Greek options, vegan and vegetarian options, paella, and more.
Tafwyl really is for everyone. Welsh speakers, non-Welsh speakers. Old, young, and everyone in between. Families, couples, friends, and every combination possible.

IN PICTURES: Yemeni Festival returned to Newport for 2025
The annual event, held at Pill Harriers Rugby Football Club, saw the Caldicot Male Voice Choir perform for the fourth time. Their wide-ranging set included songs such as Rachie, Hallelujah, and the Welsh National Anthem. The festival, organised by Reggie Al-Haddi and Newport councillor Debbie Jenkins, is aimed at promoting the Yemeni community's participation and acceptance of Welsh culture. It is a celebration of Yemeni music, dance, and costume, with activities for children, and demonstrations by St John's Ambulance and Gwent Police. The event concluded with a colourful parade of children in traditional Yemeni dress. Newport East MP Jessica Morden attended the festival and posted on social media: "A glorious afternoon at the Welsh Yemeni Festival today with Jayne and others. "Huge congratulations to Pill councillor Deb Jenkins, and Reggie, chair of the Newport Yemeni Community Association and everyone else involved for your hard work in pulling this year's event together - it's seems to grow every year!" After the festival, the choir returned to the rugby club to entertain members with more songs. This is officially the best city for Gen Z in America
You're young (under 30), you're thinking about changing jobs and moving somewhere for a fresh start—but where is that? Where will you find people who like the same things you do (going out for the evening, catching culture, dining like kings and queens, quaffing that ridiculously intense cocktail), in a city that's fun, safe and rewards healthy things, too, like parks and nature? Helpfully, Time Out has come out with its inaugural list of the Best Cities for Gen Z, a global ranking created by Gen Z, for Gen Z. It results from Time Out's Best Cities survey, but we kicked out all the responses from anyone older than 30 (we're not resentful at all), to create a spiffy look at where you should live. And on this list of 20 international cities, two hail from our very own United States—but first, let's look at which locale claimed the top spot this year. That would be Bangkok: Of the respondents who already live in Thailand's capital, 84-percent of Gen Z say that they're happy there. It's also an affordable city and has an incredible street life—including bars and dance clubs and street food to fawn over—plus colorful and sacred temples and statues, floating markets in the canals, and a safe and welcoming vibe. Next up are two fellow international destinations, Melbourne, Australia and Cape Town, South Africa, which take the No. 2 and No. 3 spot, respectively. And in fourth place, we hit the first U.S. city on the list: New York City. A foodie haven for those with abundance and not, this sprawling city of 8.4 million is great for Gen Z with spectacular nightlife (84-percent applaud it) and walkability (82-percent). Respondents called it the most 'exciting' city on the list. And, of course, it's got fabulous hotels and culture, too. We'll race past the other non-American cities on the list (you can see those below) to get to No. 17, the other U.S city embraced by Generation Zed: Chicago. Also known to satisfy eating and drinking lust (hello, deep dish pizza), Chicago offers affordable nightclubs, scenic boat rides, world-class museums and gorgeous greenspaces. And its zoo is free! Takeaway from the list: no country has more than two cities on the lineup, with Thailand, Australia, Spain, China, the United Kingdom and the United States also getting double entries this year. Pembrokeshire County Show returns with two days of fun
Pembrokeshire County Show, taking place on Wednesday, August 20 and Thursday, August 21, is set to be a highlight of the summer, celebrating rural life with a blend of tradition and new attractions. Held at the Pembrokeshire County Showground in Withybush, Haverfordwest, the event is expected to draw large crowds from across Wales and beyond. Tim and Margaret Johns, presidents of the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society, said: "We're thrilled to welcome our members, competitors, trade stands, sponsors and the wider community back to the county show. "Whether you're from Pembrokeshire or visiting, we're confident you'll have a fantastic day out. "This year's show is packed with attractions and activities for all ages. "From top-quality livestock and delicious local food to countryside experiences and live entertainment – there really is something for everyone." This year's show features an expanded layout, more trade stands, and a newly resurfaced area to improve the visitor and trader experience. The Food Hall, now in a new location, will showcase a selection of Welsh produce, with live cookery demonstrations and tastings. A new "Taste of Wellbeing" area will offer visitors the chance to explore health, nutrition, therapies, and self-care, including reflexology, nutritional advice, and mental health support. Families can enjoy the Rentadinosaur attraction, which brings dinosaurs to life through live shows, meet-and-greets, and themed adventures. Children will also enjoy the interactive Food Story area, where they can learn about where their food comes from in a hands-on, engaging way. The Andrew Holmes Funfair returns once again, promising rides and activities for all ages. The popular Country Market returns with more than 60 stalls featuring artisan crafts and local products. The Gentle Giant Black Shire Horses from Moylegrove will make an appearance, including a special visit to Haverfordwest town centre on Tuesday, August 19. The Craft and Horticulture section will offer creative displays, while the Countryside Park will include demonstrations of ferret handling, gundogs, beekeeping, wool spinning, willow weaving, and wood turning. Live entertainment will take place on the Pure West Radio stage, including music, dance, guest appearances, competitions, and broadcasts. With the second day of the show coinciding with GCSE results day, there will be career advice and information available from organisations such as Pembrokeshire College, Hywel Dda University Health Board, and the Welsh Ambulance Trust. Visitors can get around the site easily using the land train, and there will be Blue Badge parking, a Mobiloo service, and mobility scooter and wheelchair hire.
