Dick Van Dyke has experienced heartache in ageing.
The 99-year-old Hollywood legend spoke about how he's lost special people in his life during a recent Q&A where he reflected on Ed Asner's death in 2021 before they could make a remake of The Odd Couple.
'That would've been such fun, and we lost it,' said Van Dyke, per People. 'I've lost a lot of friends.'

'He's outlived everybody,' Van Dyke's wife, Arlene Silver, added at the event in Malibu, California.
'That's the curse of living to almost 100,' she shared.
But Silver, 53, also noted that Van Dyke is 'still so positive' despite the deaths of so many of his friends and former co-stars.
When asked how he maintains a positive outlook on life, Van Dyke replied, 'Well, life's been good to me. I can't complain.'
The Mary Poppins star has been married to Silver since 2012.
Van Dyke revealed last month how the couple make their marriage work despite their 46-year age gap.
'We get along so well,' he told People, as Silver added, 'We just care about each other so much.'
'Everybody said it wouldn't work,' Van Dyke recalled.
Along with a happy marriage, Van Dyke has kept up a healthy lifestyle that he's said involves going to the gym multiple times a week.
'Somebody said, 'To what do you attribute your age and physical condition?' I've always exercised three days a week,' he shared in January on Ted Danson's podcast Where Everybody Knows Your Name.
'We go to the gym still, and I think that's why I'm not stove up like my equals,' Van Dyke said.
Danson, 77, told Van Dyke: 'I would go to the same gym you did, and if I got there early enough, I would see you literally work out on some weight machine. And then, almost like you were doing circuit training, you would not walk to the next machine, you'd dance. You literally danced to the next machine.'
While his health is fine, Van Dyke faced a scary incident earlier this year when his home was threatened by the deadly Palisades Fire.
He and Silver did not evacuate their $US8 million house despite the blaze destroying other celebrity mansions in Malibu and adjacent areas.
When the fires hit the couple's neighbourhood, Van Dyke tried to crawl to the car to escape. Luckily, his neighbours came to his aid at the time.

‘The devil': Diddy's chilling comment

A New York court has heard that Sean 'Diddy' Combs called himself 'the devil' and 'could kill' one of his ex-girlfriends. Jurors in the Manhattan trial were also told the singer dangled a woman over a balcony potentially threatening her life. Combs is on trial in New York on federal charges that include sex trafficking and racketeering. Combs has denied all the charges. On Wednesday, US time, Bryana 'Bana' Bongolan took the stand. She is a friend of Combs' one time girlfriend Cassie Ventura. She spoke of one incident in 2016 when she alleged Combs dangled her over a balcony at Ms Ventura's Los Angeles apartment in a tall residential building. 'I was pulled over a 17th story balcony,' she told the court. 'He threw me onto the balcony furniture.' She said Combs banged on the door of the apartment whole she was asleep. Ms Bongolan asked Combs to leave, she said, and then she proceeded to the balcony and lit a cannabis joint. 'He basically came up from behind me, lifted me up and hung me off the rail,' she claimed. She said he held her by the airmpist with her feet dangling above the rail. Ms Bongolan said the ordeal last around 15 seconds during which Combs screamed: screamed 'You know what the f*** you did.' It was claimed she was then thrown into some garden furniture and suffered bruising, leg and neck pain. She said she had no idea then and no idea know what she was supposed to have done to have warranted being dangled over a balcony 17 stories up. Ms Ventura then allegedly came out of her room and said: 'Did you just hang her off the balcony?' Ms Bongolan said she didn't go the police because he was fearful of Combs. said she till had nightmares after the balcony incidentand sometimes used to 'screaming a lot im my sleep'. 'I'm the devil' On another occasion, Ms Bongolan said Combs threatened he could kill her. Again, she was with Ms Ventura when the alleged incident occurred. This time it was in Malibu, near Los Angeles, when a photo shoot was taking place. 'He came up really close to my face and said something along the lines of 'I'm the devil and I could kill you,' she claimed. 'I was terrified,' she added. Ms Bongolan told the court she was on cocaine at the time. Indeed, she told the court, much of her time with Ms Ventura involved be9mng high. She also told the court she had a lawsuit out against Combs and she was seeking $10 million from him. Teh defence has tried to suggest that many of the witness testifying against Combs have done so in order to get damages from the star.

Ferris Bueller star resurfaces on red carpet after more than 10 years

No more days off. Ferris Bueller's Day Off star Mia Sara returned to the spotlight for the premiere of The Life of Chuck — her first film in over a decade — in Los Angeles on Monday. Sara, 57, walked the red carpet at the Hollywood Legion Theater to celebrate her new sci-fi movie based on Stephen King's novel, reports the New York Post. The actress posed for photos alongside her co-stars Tom Hiddleston, Mark Hamill, Karen Gillan, Benjamin Pajak, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Siegel and Carl Lumbly, as well as director Mike Flanagan. Sara wore a black top with a below-the-knee skirt and matching boot heels. She also rocked a pair of silver earrings and a big gold bracelet. In The Life of Chuck, out June 21, Sara plays the grandmother of Hiddleston's character, Charles Krantz. The film follows Krantz's life in reverse-chronological order. At the red carpet, Sara told People that she came out of acting retirement to work with Flanagan, 47. She said his 2021 Netflix horror miniseries Midnight Mass was 'one of my favourite things I've ever seen.' 'We've been such fans, and we met socially, he and the magnificent Kate Siegel, and he just said, 'Well, don't you ever really want to work again?' ' Sara told the outlet. 'And I said, 'Oh, I don't know.' He said, 'Well, what if I offered you something?' I said, 'Well, okay, if you offer me something, I'll do it.'' When asked if she plans to do more acting, Sara replied: 'Honestly, it really was all about Mike. If Mike needs me, I'll be there.' Sara currently lives in 'a 17th century farmhouse' in England with her husband, Brian Henson. The actress and Henson have a daughter, Amelia, 20. She also has a son, Dashiell Quinn Connery, 28, with her ex-husband Jason Connery, son of James Bond star Sean Connery. Sara's last acting appearance was in the 2013 short film Pretty Pretty. Before that, she played Princess Langwidere in the 2012 film Dorothy and the Witches of Oz. Sara grew up in New York City and made her film acting debut in 1985's Legend alongside Tom Cruise. At age 18, she landed the role of Sloane Peterson in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The beloved 1986 comedy was directed by the late John Hughes and also starred Matthew Broderick and Succession alum Alan Ruck. Sara went on to star in the 1987 miniseries Queenie and the 1994 sci-fi film Timecop, which won her a Saturn Award. She also played Harley Quinn in The WB series Birds of Prey from 2002 to 2003.
