Kaizer Chiefs rumours: Radebe released, Velebayi boost, Mdu Shabalala finished?
Today's Kaizer Chiefs news wrap looks at the future of Mduduzi Shabalala and more rumours involving Asanele Velebayi.
Mduduzi Shabalala was only a substitute in Chiefs' recent Nedbank Cup win over Orlando Pirates. Only a bold man would predict that Mduduzi Shabalala will leave Chiefs in the winter. However, his long-term prospects don't look great. How much does the player want to become a legend at the club? 21-year-old Shabalala was in a recent preliminary Bafana Bafana squad but hasn't made the final 23 selected by Hugo Broos.

The club has released a statement regarding the release of Sabelo Radebe. He got his first taste of senior football at the club in 2017-2028. He only had two Betway Premiership outings this season. He's only notched a total of 18 appearances for Chiefs.

According to FARPost, Chiefs' PSL rivals Stellenbosch won't be pursuing Asanele Velebayi as they already have a winger of a similar profile in the shape of Langelihle Phili. Velebayi's Cape Town Spurs side have been relegated to South Africa's third tier following a 15th-place finish in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Kaizer Chiefs transfer target not here to ‘impress big teams'

I'm still okay at Richards Bay, so I can just prove myself even more.' The 23 year-old forward scored six goals in all competitions this season for the Natal Rich Boyz. He added that he was surprised to be called up by Bafana. 'I'm very happy that I have been given an opportunity and was called to the national team,' said Mbuthuma. 'I just want to score more goals so that I can progress even more and grow as a striker. 'I was very shocked when I got this opportunity because I wasn't expecting it. Kaizer Chiefs: More support for Nasreddine Nabi
Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Daniel Matsau has given coach Nasreddine Nabi another reason to smile and look ahead to next season. According to Matsau, the Tunisian tactician and the players deeply disappointed Kaizer Chiefs fans by missing out on the MTN8. Still, continuity with the same technical team next season is the way forward. Former Kaizer Chiefs players such as Itumeleng Khune and Katlego Mphela have shared the same views as Matsau in previous weeks. While Amakhosi lifted a trophy for the first time in 10 years with the Nedbank Cup, which included wins over Stellenbosch FC, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, the league results were dire. Image: SuperSport Website Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Nabi and Ntwari Amakhosi finished in ninth place after only eight wins in 28 matches. 'Kaizer Chiefs are in a difficult situation at the moment, but let's hope they can bring in good players next season to enhance the team,' Matsau told KickOff . 'Not qualifying for the top eight is disappointing for those of us who love the club. We understand it's challenging for the club to acquire the players the coach needs, but we hope that will change next season. This season, some of the players lacked hunger; only a few demonstrated their desire when our best players were sidelined due to injuries. 'Some supporters often respond harshly to us former players, when we discuss Kaizer Chiefs, thinking we are being too critical. However, we must be realistic: if a team is not performing well, it is not performing well. Conversely, if a team is doing well, they are doing well. 'We were all hopeful for qualification, but the reality is that they faced tremendous challenges, which is why we find ourselves in this situation. 'It was disappointing to see Kaizer Chiefs not qualify for the top eight. I hope the management grants the coach more time, although I know it won't be easy to secure all the players he desires. 'Kaizer Chiefs have struggled to attract the players they want for too many years now. It's better for a coach to fail with the players he personally recommended than to continue with an unsettled lineup. He has been trying to find a stable starting eleven by giving every player on the roster a chance,' Matsau concluded. The PSL's silly season becomes even sillier with legal wrangles on the increase

Photo: Muzi Ntombela/BackpagePix Image: Photo: Muzi Ntombela/BackpagePix The post-Premiership period is often referred to as the 'silly season' in South African football — a time typically characterised by rampant speculation, transfer news, and managerial changes. However, this year, the tenor of the silly season has shifted dramatically, as the PSL finds itself ensnared in a bewildering series of legal disputes that are overshadowing the traditional excitement. Less than a week ago, the PSL finally resolved the contentious matter surrounding an abandoned match between SuperSport United and Lamontville Golden Arrows that occurred in March. The game, played a few days ago, ended in a 1–1 draw. This result confirmed that SuperSport retained their Premiership status. Meanwhile, Cape Town City, who languished in 15th place in the revised 15-team league, will now face the daunting challenge of the annual PSL promotion/relegation play-offs. As if that scenario were not enough, the intrigue thickened with ongoing legal challenges from clubs within the Motsepe Foundation Championship. Cape Town Spurs and JDR Stars have taken their battle against the apparent legality of Durban City's status as winners — due to the suspected use of an ineligible player — from PSL arbitration to the jurisdiction of Safa. There remains cautious optimism that this issue could also be resolved within the week. There is also talk that other National First Division clubs are keeping a close watch on proceedings, as some may have been impacted when playing against Durban City.
