
"Ready or Not" Sequel Gets Title as Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood & More Join Cast

Sarah Michelle Gellar ('Buffy the Vampire Slayer') and Elijah Wood ('The Lord of the Rings') will star in Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett's 'Ready or Not' sequel, officially titled 'Ready or Not: Here I Come,' alongside Samara Weaving, who reprises her role as Grace, and Kathryn Newton ('Freaky '). Principal photography began Monday in Toronto.
Shawn Hatosy ('The Pitt'), Néstor Carbonell ('The Dark Knight'), Kevin Durand ('Abigail'), and David Cronenberg are rounding out the cast.
Guy Busick ('Abigail,' 'Scream') and R. Christopher Murphy ('Castle Rock') are returning to pen the script, along with producers Tripp Vinson ('Fountain of Youth,' 'Murder Mystery'), James Vanderbilt ('Zodiac,' 'Fountain of Youth'), Bradley J. Fischer ('Transformers') and William Sherak ('Abigail,' 'Scream').
The first movie, which also included Adam Brody, Andie MacDowell and Henry Czerny, cost only $6 million to make but earned $28 million domestically, becoming Searchlight's biggest release of 2019.
'We're thrilled to be returning to the world of 'Ready or Not' with Samara, Brett, Avery and Andrew and so excited to work with this immensely talented cast and the incredible artists across every department joining the 'Ready or Not' family,' said Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett, who directed the 2019 hit.
Searchlight Pictures president Matthew Greenfield added, 'We're beyond excited to make another film with the phenomenal Radio Silence.
With "Ready or Not: Here I Come," we get to go on another ride with the amazing Samara Weaving, mix in awesome new voices, and bring audiences a fresh take that's every bit as twisted and fun as the first one. This is for those who've been waiting, and those who didn't see it coming.'
Also returning behind the camera from the original black comedy horror 'Ready or Not' are production designer Andrew Stearn ('The Umbrella Academy'), director of photography Brett Jutkiewicz ('Scream'), costume designer Avery Plewes ('Scream VI') and makeup head of department Colin Penman ('The Apprentice').
New additions to the crew include editor Jay Prychidny ('Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice'), hair department head Ryan Reed (It Chapter Two), and sound mixer Thomas Hayek ('Thanksgiving,' 'The Boys').
Executive producers are Chad Villella, Tara Farney, Greg Denny, Busick, Murphy, Weavin,g and Paul Neinstein.
VP of Production Richard Ruiz and Creative Executive Cornelia Burleigh are overseeing the project for Searchlight Pictures, reporting to Heads of Production and Development DanTram Nguyen, and Katie Goodson-Thomas.

Amal Maher to Collab with Mohamed Mohamady for First Time on New Song
Yara Sameh Egyptian superstar, Amal Maher is working on a new song called "Law Lena Omr". It is by the lyrics of Nader Abd Allah and composed by Mohamed Mohamady. "Law Lena Omr" marks the first collaboration between Maher and Mohamady. It also witnesses the superstar's first music in 2025 and comes after a period of absence from the music scene. Born on February 19, 1985, Maher began singing as a child by presenting songs by iconic singer Umm Kulthum. She was discovered at the age of fifteen and enrolled at the Conservatory of Arabic Music to begin her singing career. The acclaimed singer soon met composer Mohamed Diae, whom she eventually married and became the father of her son, Omar. She filed for divorce a year later. She recorded her first song in 2006 and received the support of Egyptian music icon Ammar El Sherei, who she considers to be her spiritual father. Tom Cruise Sets Guinness World Record for "Mission Impossible 8"
Yara Sameh Tom Cruise has set a Guinness World Record during the production of 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' by doing 16 burning parachute jumps while filming the climactic plane sequence. Cruise jumped to his potential death while his parachute caught fire 16 times during the making of the latest entry in the Mission: Impossible franchise. Paramount marked the record with a new behind-the-scenes video of the wild aerial stunt. 'If this is twisted while it's burning, I'm going to be spinning and burnt. I have to kick out of the twist and then ignite in 10 seconds,' Cruise is heard saying in the footage. 'We're going to be real smart. I'm not saying be risky. We don't take risks, obviously.' 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' was billed as Cruise's final outing as Ethan Hunt, making the burning parachute jump his last stunt of the 29-year-old franchise. When asked in Cannes about his future with the hit franchise, Cruise remained coy about leaving 'Mission: Impossible' for good. 'I'd rather just people see it and enjoy and we've had an amazing time doing it and it's been a lot of fun and I just want you all to enjoy it,' the acclaimed actor said. 'Enjoy this and know everything is the culmination has come to this moment right now.' 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' opened over Memorial Day Weekend and has grossed $360 million and counting at the worldwide box office. The film debuted to a huge $200 million, setting a franchise record for biggest 'Mission: Impossible' opening yet. 'This weekend was one for the history books!' Cruise wrote in a message to fans after the film's opening. 'Congratulations and thank you to every filmmaker, every artist, every crew member and every single person who works at the studios.
