You can get tickets for Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' starting tomorrow – a full year before it comes to theaters
As first reported by Variety, starting Thursday, July 17, 2025, Nolan super fans – and, we supposed, hardcore Homer-heads – can purchase tickets to see the movie in IMAX 70mm theaters in the US and UK, exactly one year before the film is released in cinemas.
Rumors began swirling earlier in the week as Reddit users noticed showtimes for the movie already listed at theaters in Arizona and Dallas. The recently reopened AMC Lincoln Square in New York has a 2 pm showtime listed as 'available soon', while the fan community IMAX Vanguard suggests tickets will soon go on sale for a screening at the BFI in London.
While studios will often make deals with IMAX theaters far in advance, to have those plans made public a year in advance is unprecedented. The catch here is that only about 30 theaters in the world are equipped with IMAX projectors. But that didn't stop enthusiasts from travelling great distances to see Nolan's previous movie, 2023's Oppenheimer, in the format: IMAX screenings accounted for 20 percent of the Best Picture winner's $975 million worldwide gross.
Nolan is one of the format's truest believers, having shot parts of nearly every film he's made since The Dark Knight using IMAX cameras, while The Odyssey will be the first shot entirely on such cameras.
The Odyssey is indeed based on the poet Homer's ancient Greek epic, with Matt Damon starring as Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, making the grueling journey home at the end of the Trojan War. He'll be joined by damn near every A-list star in Hollywood. A 70-second teaser trailer, featuring the presumed voice of Robert Pattinson and an appearance from John Bernthal, has been airing in front of Jurassic World Rebirth and Superman, even though the film is currently still in production.

Fans will already know this to be the Fantastic Four's longtime nemesis, Doctor Doom, who will be played by Robert Downey Jr. in the upcoming sequel, Avengers: Doomsday. Although the villain's face is obscured, Kirby has revealed that it was indeed Downey Jr. behind that hood. 'Yeah! Robert's never not been on set,' she told Variety when asked whetherRDJ was present for the shoot. She continued: 'He's always there. He is our leader. We call him our Godfather. He's looked after us. This sequence was filmed by the Russo Brothers as part of their work on Avengers: Doomsday and shot while Kirby was pregnant in real life. 'It's such a joy working with the Russos and him, because they've had such deep collaboration for so long,' she revealed. 'And it's been amazing being pregnant and working on Avengers. I felt so inspired and so relieved that I've been so taken care of. It's been a really beautiful journey. Robert is just doing incredible work. I'm so excited.' It was announced last year that Downey Jr. would be returning to the long-running franchise, six years after being killed off in Avengers: Endgame. This came as Earth's mightiest heroes faced off against purple menace Thanos (Josh Brolin) for the fate of the universe. This spelt the end of Downey Jr.'s career-defining stint as Tony Stark—aka Iron Man—sacrificing himself at the end of the film to secure the future of reality as we know it. A few years later, it was confirmed that he would be returning, albeit in an entirely different role. The actor's appointment to the post was unveiled at last year's Comic-Con, when a cloaked Downey Jr. removed his mask to reveal that he would be playing Doom, real name Victor von Doom. This character was previously played by late Nip/Tuck actor Julian McMahon in the 2005 and 2007 films and by Toby Kebbell in the 2015 reboot. 'UK's poshest Greggs' is in Grade II listed building and steeped in history
Greggs is one of the UK's most beloved fast food chains, and fans of the eatery are just realising there's a particularly 'posh' branch in a 300-year-old building There's nothing quite like sinking your teeth into a Greggs pastry while you're rushing about, or grabbing one of their sandwiches or coffees from the beloved sausage roll emporium for your lunch. Devotees love it for being affordable and dependable - and you can spot its distinctive blue, white and yellow Greggs branding from miles away. But this particular branch in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, appears rather different and has been crowned "the poshest" Greggs in Britain. This extraordinary branch sits within a 17th century Grade II* listed structure and is frequently hailed as the most beautiful Greggs across the nation. The heritage building's facade features timber panelling and merges Victorian, Georgian, Tudor and 1930s architectural elements. Back in the 1700s, it launched as a grocer and tea merchant, which remained in business until the 1960s. Today, it houses Britain's beloved bakery chain. Until recently, the outlet was covered in scaffolding as part of an 18-month restoration scheme. This work is now finished: the building's front has been reconstructed whilst numerous windows have been renewed and sections of the roof have been fixed. On Reddit, the outlet was christened "the country's poshest Greggs". This week, a TikTok user posted footage of the establishment and declared: "Sorry but this is the poshest Greggs I've ever seen." Greggs responded to the clip, saying: "RIP Henry VIII you would have loved Bury St Edmunds Greggs." Someone else remarked: "That isn't a Greggs. That's a Gregorys." Another said: "It's like Greggs and Wetherspoons had a baby." Another person concurred, observing: "That ain't Greggs that's Gregory's tavern for the whimsical." "I just know people eating sausage rolls with their pinky's out," one user quipped. Another likened the place to "Greggs if it was in a fantasy world." A local resident chimed in: "I grew up in that town. Everybody called it bakers oven cause that's what it was called before Greggs took it over." "I kind of like the fact they've not changed the outside of the building too much," said one other. "Love Bury Greggs," another fan declared. "If only every Greggs looked like that," added one other.
