Anurag Basu revealed that Pritam has a habit of making minor tweaks in his song beyond the deadlines.
Director Anurag Basu recently made a revelation about music composer and his frequent collaborator, Pritam. In an interview with IANS, the filmmaker revealed that Pritam has a very 'scary' habit of making minor tweaks in his songs beyond the deadlines.
Anurag said, 'It's really scary at this stage of post-production of the film, he keeps adding stuff, saying, 'In the background I'll add this, I'll add that'. He becomes so possessive with every song, every piece, everything".
He further praised Pritam's sense of detachment, which kicks in the moment a song is released. 'After release, he's gone. But till then, you think he'll drive you crazy. He'll drive you crazy. And he spends money like crazy on producing songs, musicians sitting in Prague recording for him and somebody in Miami recording for him, but once the song is released, he moves on to the next one," the director added.
Earlier, Anurag Basu mentioned that Metro…In Dino belongs more to Pritam than him. The filmmaker said, 'Metro…In Dino is more of Pritam than mine. When you see the film as a whole you will understand how music is so important for this film. It's like a thread. A string to tie everything together".
When asked how both of them create superhit music consistently, the director said, 'It just happens. We have very similar choices of everything. From food, music to everything. I remember some of the songs and no one remembers them in the room except Pritam. Somehow our taste in music and the kind of artists we follow are very similar. There is no process of making a song and then a story".
Metro In Dino features Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, Neena Gupta, and Saswata Chatterjee in key roles. The film is set to release in theatres on July 4, 2025.

Ahead of the much-awaited release of the upcoming film Dino, actor Konkona Sen Sharma has opened up about her experience shooting with Pankaj Tripathi for the first time. Sharma shared that she feels glad to finally work with Tripathi, with whom she never got a chance to share screen space despite both being in the industry for a long time. The actress also shared how their first day on set together felt formal, but they quickly grew comfortable with each other. While speaking to ANI, the actor said, " Dino is quite different from Life in a Metro, because Life in a Metro was made 17-18 years ago. We were younger back then, so the story was different. And I feel lucky to work with Mr. Pankaj Tripathi." "It was a lot of fun. Actually, I wasn't sure what to expect because, even though both of us have been working for so long, we hadn't worked together before. But he is very popular, and I've seen his work--I like it a lot. So, I was happy to be working with him. On the first day, I think we were both a little shy and formal. Anurag always says this very funnily: 'On the first day, we were both a little shy, a little formal. Mr. Pankaj used to say "Namaste" and all that. I'm also a bit like that--kind of old-fashioned. But we quickly became comfortable with each other," she added. The trailer of Dino was released earlier this month. Kajol Shares Heartfelt Moments With Mom Tanuja And Mother-In-Law Veena Devgn At Maa Premiere

Kajol shared heartfelt moments on Instagram with her mother Tanuja and mother-in-law Veena Devgan. Bollywood actress Kajol, who is gearing up for the release of her film, 'Maa," took to social media to share a heartfelt glimpse from a special evening spent in the company of both her mother, Tanuja, and her mother-in-law, Veena Devgan. Taking to Instagram, the 'Dilwale' actress shared a couple of her photos from a recent event for her upcoming film and captioned it, 'Wrapped in love, laughter, and maa ki blessings……both on screen and off. What a night! #MaaTheFilm #onedaytogo." In the first image, Kajol is seen smiling as she poses next to her mother, Tanuja, and her mother-in-law, Veena Devgn. A candid shot that follows captures the actress lovingly hugging her mother as they pose together. In the subsequent pictures, Kajol is seen posing with her husband and actor Ajay Devgan, son Yug, sister Tanishaa Mukerji, Renuka Shahane, and other family members. Kajol looked radiant in a white and gold saree, which she paired with statement earrings. Meanwhile, in a recent interview with IANS, the 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' actress shared that working on the horror film was emotionally draining, as each scene demanded intense, sustained tension and high-strung emotions throughout. 'It took a lot from me because of the fact that it's a horror film. I didn't realise that when I would be doing a horror film, there would be such a pitch to the entire film because I am not a horror watcher. So, I didn't realise that there was this certain pitch to every horror film that's there. That there's an emotional pitch and especially when it's so tight, you know, there's so much happening." Kajol added, 'And yes, it was very, very draining as an actor also. Very emotionally draining as an actor to constantly keep that pitch 24×7 all the time in every shot." Directed by Vishal Furia, 'Maa" is a mythological horror drama featuring Kajol in the lead role. The film also stars Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma in key roles. It is scheduled to hit theatres on June 27. First Published:

Kangana Ranaut Criticises NYC Mayoral Contender Zohran Mamdani Over Anti-Hindu, Pro-Pakistan Views

Mumbai: BJP MP from Mandi, Kangana Ranaut, on Thursday criticised Zohran Mamdani, the son of renowned filmmaker Mira Nair and a contender for the New York Mayor's post, for his anti-Hindu and pro-Pakistani views. In a message on the social media platform X, the National Award-winning actress expressed shock over Zohran's hateful views about India. His mother is Mira Nair, one of our best filmmakers, Padmashri , a beloved and celebrated daughter born and raised in great Bharat based in Newyork, she married Mehmood Mamdani ( Gujarati origin) a celebrated author, and obviously son is named Zohran, he sounds more Pakistani… — Kangana Ranaut (@KanganaTeam) June 26, 2025 'He sounds more Pakistani than Indian,' wrote Kangana. The Mandi MP also pointed to 'Bharat raised' Mira Nair's marriage to celebrated author Mehmood Mamdani (of Gujarati origin), and wondered why their 32-year-old Muslim son appeared 'ready to wipe out Hinduism'. On a sarcastic note, the BJP MP wrote, 'On a different note met Mira ji on couple of occasions congratulations to the parents.' Kangana's message began with the introduction of Ugandan-born Indian American's mother. 'His mother is Mira Nair, one of our best filmmakers, Padmashri, a beloved and celebrated daughter born and raised in great Bharat based in New York, she married Mehmood Mamdani (Gujarati origin) a celebrated author, and obviously son is named Zohran, he sounds more Pakistani than Indian.' 'Whatever happened to his Hindu identity or bloodline and now he is ready to wipe out Hinduism, wow!! It's the same story every where,' she said. One of the social media users reacted to Kangana's message by tagging an old video of Zohran Mamdani in which he is heard introducing himself and criticising the Indian government and the Babri Masjid demolition. The video, which could not be independently verified by IANS, purportedly shows Zohran protesting alongside Sikh agitators in New York. Zohran clinched a historic victory in the NYC mayoral election primary on Tuesday, setting up a showdown on November 4 against Republican Frank T. Donovan for the top post in City Hall. Earlier, echoing similar views as Kangana about Zohran, senior Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi said on X, 'When Zohran Mamdani opens his mouth, Pakistan's PR team takes the day off. India doesn't need enemies with 'allies' like him shouting fiction from New York.'
