Raj HC orders action against negligent cops in case of fraud
Jaipur: Expressing displeasure over investigation not being completed in eight years in a fraud case and police not arresting a woman history-sheeter in the case, a single judge bench of Rajasthan high court Thursday said the SHO of Pratap Nagar and the ACP Pratap Nagar were clearly responsible for not taking the investigation seriously. The court directed the Jaipur police commissioner to immediately issue a chargesheet to the negligent officers and initiate a departmental inquiry against them. The bench of Justice Sudesh Bansal gave this order while hearing the petition of Ashok Mehta. The court noted that the case regarding fraud was registered at JDA police station in 2013, which was later transferred to Pratap Nagar police station. "In the case, the investigating officer held accused Ramprakash Gupta and his wife Alka Gupta guilty. Ramprakash was arrested and a charge sheet was filed against him on June 15, 2017. The investigation in the case was kept pending due to Alka not being arrested. In the case, neither Alka has been arrested till now nor the investigation has been completed," the court said. The petitioner prayed for the court to issue directives to complete investigation in the case. A progress report was presented before the court on behalf of the govt. Cops Nab Burglars After 300Km Chase, 12-Hour Trap in Raipur
Nagpur: In a clinical display of police work, a police team from Wadi nabbed two notorious burglars, Naved alias Danish Shah, 25, and Imran alias Raja Khan, 27, after a dramatic 300km chase spanning Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. This culminated in a 12-hour trap at Gaon Bhata Chowk near Raipur. The busting of this burglary gang, facilitated by tapping communication with a girlfriend, yielded gold and silver worth more than Rs 19 lakh, two cars, mobile phones, and other materials. The duo, known for their unique skill of breaking locks using a scarf as a 'tool' among other techniques, were nabbed in Chhattisgarh following Wadi police's razor-sharp planning and technical expertise in tackling shrewd criminals. It was the police's strategy of keeping a tab on their communication with their girlfriend that undid the goons' plans to evade capture. The duo was arrested following the interrogation of their accomplice, Sheikh Altaf Sheikh Arif, 24, who was nabbed by the Wadi team of sub-inspector Amit Bandgar and senior inspector Rajesh Tatkare. The cops chased their car, with a clue that it had a sticker of 'Patel Dhandal' on it. The detection came after a burglary at the house of Prakash Irpate, 62, resident of Lava, between August 2 and August 5, when Irpate and his family were in Ujjain. A case was registered with Wadi police. Cops used CCTV footage spanning 17km from Wadi to arrest Altaf on August 7 by a team comprising Yashodharanagar policemen. His arrest rattled Naved and Imran, who fled to Chhattisgarh, using dirt roads to evade tolls, frequently changing SIMs, and making UPI payments to cover their tracks. However, the police, under ACP Satish Gurav and Zonal DCP Rushikesh Singa Reddy, meticulously tracked the duo by monitoring one of their girlfriend's cell phones. After a relentless pursuit, police set a 12-hour trap in Raipur, apprehending Naved and Imran. The trio confessed to the crime during interrogation.
