When is the next Fortnite update? Release date and what to expect
Fortnite's update schedule for Chapter 6 Season 3 doesn't perfectly match up with its promises of new content, but it's still a fairly straightforward lineup of updates that we can expect.
Fortnite is well into its new Star Wars season, and already it's proving itself to be an impressive twist on the game's formula, even if it's made some major changes that have upset some purists. The game has offered an immersive and well-considered peek into the galaxy far, far away with its detailed new POIs and fresh Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 Battle Pass, but in roping players into the Star Wars universe, there have been a few casualties.
The loss of weapons that use ammo has been a source of frustration for a number of players, with all weapons working on a cooldown in order to give the entire island a chance to blast each other to bits with lasers rather than shells and rounds. It's a compelling change to the arsenal of the island, but not one that can last long before players get sick of it, especially as the weapons all have such incredibly similar names, leading to a lot of confusion about what kind of gun you're actually picking up.
Weekly shifts are what it's all about in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3, and while it's good news that we won't be totally inundated with updates and downtimes, that doesn't mean we're totally without interruptions. Here's what you need to know about the next Fortnite update.
When is the next Fortnite update?
The next Fortnite update, update 35.10, is set for release on Thursday, May 15 at 1am PDT / 4am EDT / 9am BST. This date has been revealed by reputable Fortnite leaker @Hypex, who claims that there will be two updates during the season before it ends on Sunday, June 8, and the time is an estimation based on the last two game updates that didn't bridge the gap between seasons. We can expect some downtime of around two and a half hours (based on the downtimes of Fortnite update 34.40 and Fortnite update 34.30), with matchmaking coming to a close half an hour beforehand.
This season, though, these updates aren't the only time that we'll get new injections of content, as they appear to be added to the game in chunks with each update for weekly drops. For example, Fortnite has revealed that its latest bout of content, titled Pull of the Force, has already joined the game without any need for downtime on Twitter, so we can expect that content rollouts for this special crossover season to be similar for the whole month.
What's new in Fortnite update 35.10
Fortnite has revealed the titles of its incoming content drops set to roll out over the course of the season, and now that we are in the center of its second drop, Pull of the Force, we can expect that the next update will deliver all of the content needed for the next two arrivals. They are, as revealed by a Fortnite blog post:
Chew On This, bringing the Wookie Bowcaster and CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster on Thursday, May 15
Mandalorian Rising, bringing recruitable Mandalorian bounty hunters, the Mandalorian Jetback, Amban Sniper Rifle and Westar-34 Blaster Pistols on Thursday, May 22
It's an exciting prospect, and a great way to roll content out to fans, even if every once in a while we have to hold our horses. Or X-Wings, if you prefer. If it gives us more Force powers, then who are we to complain?

Jake Paul told his plan to fight Anthony Joshua after Gervonta Davis will fail
Jake Paul was reportedly in line to face both Anthony Joshua and Gervonta Davis, but the American has been dealt a blow as the heavyweight intends to move on Jake Paul has suffered a significant setback in his quest to secure bouts with both Anthony Joshua and Gervonta Davis after confirmation the heavyweight plans to pursue other opportunities. The YouTuber-turned-pugilist is set to return to action on November 14 against Davis in an exhibition match at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. This marks Paul's second outing of the year following his victory over former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in June. For several weeks, it appeared highly probable that the American would clash with Joshua in a heavyweight encounter early next year. The British fighter's promoter, Eddie Hearn, recently disclosed that the YouTuber-turned-boxer was leading the race for the fight. Paul was so keen to share the ring with the heavyweight sensation that he was prepared to accept just ONE PER CENT of the prize money. Nevertheless, despite the latest developments, Paul suggested he still has Joshua in his sights. In a message posted on X - previously Twitter - the social media star declared he would "kill David," then "slaughter Goliath" - possibly hinting at his desire to face the two-time heavyweight champion next year, reports All Out Fighting. "His nickname might be Tank, but I'm an FPV drone and I'm about to disable tiny boy. Yes, he's one of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the world, but my motto is anyone, anytime, anyplace, against all odds. And I like my odds. First, I am going to kill David, then I will go on to slaughter Goliath," Paul wrote. Despite cryptically revealing his plans for the next year or so, it now appears more likely that Joshua will move on - serving as a real blow to Paul. In an interview with FightHype, 'AJ's' promoter Hearn clarified the Brit's future, explaining that the 35 year old will fight another opponent in either January or February. When asked whether he has spoken to the British boxer since the Paul news, he replied: "No. He was quite chilled about the whole thing anyway. He is kind of like that guy that just says 'look, just phone me when it is done.' And, until it is done, I do not think a lot of it. I do not know if it is real or not, but whatever. We were talking about a fight in February or March. We knew that Jake Paul might fight November. I did not expect it to be Gervonta (Davis)." Hearn added: "I do not know how it affects us in terms of would we do the fight. The issue is, we are not going to wait until November. I won't speak on his behalf like that, but I doubt we commit to the fight until the Tank fight is over. We are not going to wait until November to make our move. So it is very likely that AJ will fight January, February, now probably against someone else." Regarding who's lined up next for Joshua - that remains unclear. The two-time world champion hasn't stepped into the ring since his devastating knockout loss to Daniel Dubois. Recently, Dubois' manager, Sam Jones, suggested that a rematch between the pair of heavyweights could be in the pipeline. "The rematch with AJ is always there. I'm a big AJ fan - I've made no secret of that," Jones told Sky Sports. "He's a proud man, and I know he won't want to keep seeing that knockout by Daniel on his screen. I'm sure he'll want to right that wrong. And if he ever wants to, then let's get it on. It's all about what's best for Daniel now - WBO, IBF, WBC. He belongs at the top table in heavyweight boxing. He's an elite-level heavyweight. All those names you mentioned - Daniel will be back in the mix."

Fortnite Gorillaz Outfits and tracks are on the way as the band is leaked for Fortnite Festival
A new Fortnite Gorillaz crossover is on the way, with two members of the virtual band set to appear in the Festival Pass Fortnite Festival is set to become a lot more raucous as Gorillaz has been leaked as the game's latest headliner, with two members of the band featuring in its Festival Pass. The launch of Fortnite Festival has ushered in a host of superstars, but its vibe has been somewhat inconsistent. While Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga were fantastic additions, we didn't truly grasp the potential fun of the rhythm game and its accompanying Battle Pass until Hatsune Miku made her entrance. Her debut was spot-on for the game, and Sabrina Carpenter's subsequent appearance did wonders for the female fans that simply haven't been matched by Bruno Mars' arrival. The Fortnite Festival Pass has been splendid for players already enrolled in the Fortnite Crew subscription, but it has also been a rather brilliant gift to a different type of player. Now that Fortnite has evolved into more of a platform than a standalone game, particularly following the unveiling of the Blitz Royale mode and its Blitz Mega City update, it means that more players are flocking to it for things other than the usual battle royale action, and currently, Festival mode stands as the top official rhythm game. The turnover of its pass might be subject to the caprices of the game, but with a plethora of Jam Tracks to purchase and unlock, you could play endlessly without getting bored if Rock Band and Guitar Hero were your childhood favourites. However, the next Fortnite Festival season is just around the corner, and without any announcement to spice up the rather lacklustre Bruno Mars period, players are left wondering what's in store. Fortunately, insiders have come forward with an announcement that virtually confirms the next big names for the mode. That's right - the Fortnite Gorillaz takeover is imminent. Fortnite Gorillaz Festival leak Fresh leaks suggest that a new Fortnite Gorillaz collaboration is on the horizon to take centre stage as the latest Fortnite Festival headliners. While we're still awaiting official confirmation, new images of two band members, Murdoc and Russel, have been unveiled as they will appear in-game. Their appearances follow the cel-shaded style common in many of their 3D music video appearances, and according to @Hypex, their bandmates 2-D and Noodle will feature in the Item Shop. This would mark a departure from the Metallica Festival Pass, which saw all four band members included in the Pass, with variants in the Item Shop. But honestly, it's hard to imagine that was a big earner. After all, I've never seen anyone (or at least, anyone else) battling foes dressed as Lars Ulrich these days. Artwork for the game has also unveiled Murdoc's Bass and a snare drum Back Bling, along with a full drum kit in the Festival Pass (via @iFireMonkey). With this Fortnite Gorillaz takeover, we can anticipate a slew of Jam Tracks joining the game, as well as additional Item Shop cosmetics yet to be disclosed. We'll gain more insight into the crossover when it's officially announced by Epic Games, but overall, this feels like a match made in heaven. Digital bands seem to thrive in Fortnite, particularly after Hatsune Miku's stellar appearance. Here's hoping this Fortnite Gorillaz crossover is more Plastic Beach than Humanz.

Shade at Star Wars? Oscar Isaac reveals what would make him return to beleaguered franchise
Oscar Isaac has revealed that he would be willing to return to the Star Wars universe 'if there was something good to do with that.' He played the hotheaded fighter pilot Poe Dameron in the franchise's sequel trilogy, which was brought about by Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm. Released between 2015 and 2019, the trio of movies - comprising episodes seven through nine of the main film series - left fans sharply polarized. The last film in the trilogy, The Rise of Skywalker, ultimately wound up making roughly half as much as the first one, The Force Awakens. Last year it emerged that the box office profits Disney made from its Star Wars projects had yet to equal the $4 billion it spent buying Lucasfilm, via Forbes. Now Oscar, 46, has shared his own thoughts on Star Wars, in an interview with Euphoria heartthrob Jacob Elordi for Variety. Quoting a fan favorite line from The Simpsons, he said: 'I'm a Star Wars,' then explained that 'I'd be a Star Wars again if there was something good to do with that.' Meanwhile Daisy Ridley, who starred alongside Oscar in the sequel trilogy, will be resuming her role as Rey for an upcoming Star Wars film, the details of which have yet to be unveiled to the fanbase. In recent years, the Star Wars franchise scored a critical and audience success with the runaway triumph of the series The Mandalorian. Pedro Pascal's lead performance and the viral appeal of the adorable 'baby Yoda' have helped make the show a firm fan favorite. However the big screen has lately proven less fruitful for Star Wars, from the diminishing returns of the sequel trilogy to the spin-off Solo flopping outright. In 2020, one year after his last Star Wars film The Rise of Skywalker disappointed at the box office, Oscar announced he wanted to change tack in his career. He shared that he felt he had arrived at 'a personal turning point' and hoped to devote more of his attention to independent projects. As a result he was 'probably' less likely to return to the Star Wars universe, though he would reconsider if he 'needs another house,' he quipped to Deadline. In the years since Star Wars, he has co- starred with Jessica Chastain in the HBO remake of Ingmar Bergman's classic miniseries Scenes from a Marriage. Although his work has included smaller projects like the dark comedy Big Gold Brick, he has also featured in larger tentpole movies like Dune: Part One. Having played Gomez in the 2019 reboot of The Addams Family, he reprised his role for the sequel, which was released two years later. He also had a voice role in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in 2023, and this year had a dual part as Jesus and Satan in the Christian cartoon The King of Kings. The King of Kings featured a glittering cast including Kenneth Branagh, Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan, Forrest Whitaker, Ben Kingsley and even Oscar's old Star Wars co-star Mark Hamill, famous for playing Luke Skywalker. Fans will be able to see him as Victor Frankenstein in the upcoming movie adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, directed by Guillermo Del Toro. After premiering at the Venice International Film Festival next week, the movie will be released on streaming via Netflix on November 7.
