The South African pro was persuaded to stay on the show this year despite a busy schedule that saw him making his biopic and touring the nation with musical Kinky Boots.
I exclusively revealed two years ago how Johannes' life story, based on his autobiography, Jojo: Finally Home, was under way.
This week, he said: 'It's a 'pinch me' moment.
"The beginning stages are happening now and BBC Films have just jumped on board too.
'It simply means that my people, who helped me get where I am, are worthy and they can dream because I know where they come from.
"There are a lack of role models and they feel like they can't achieve anything but I hope this is like a beacon of light for them to say all of you contributed to me and my success is your success.'
Johannes joined Strictly in 2018.
In 2021 he reached the final with chef John Whaite, where they lost out to ex-EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice.

They became known as the Birmingham Six.
The new drama will focus on the lives of the victims and their loved ones who have campaigned for justice.
Brummie Simon said: 'Everyone knows about the Birmingham Six, but the families of the 21 victims still don't know who planted the bombs.
'They don't get the publicity they deserve. But there's a script and we're going to try.
'I just want to support the city.
'I don't think it has had a fair crack of the whip.'

CILLIAN MURPHY swapped the brutality of Peaky Blinders for a children's animation, so his kids have the chance to enjoy his work.
The actor, best known as Tommy Shelby in the gritty saga, lends his voice to play Dad in Kensuke's Kingdom.
Cillian said: 'I had read Kensuke's Kingdom to my boys when they were little and they were enthralled by it.
'I wanted to be involved in the film version so they could see it, and also because I don't really make that many films for kids.'
An adaptation of Michael Morpugo's book, follows a young boy who is shipwrecked on a remote island after falling overboard during a family sailing trip.
He discovers he's not alone when he encounters Kensuke, a former Japanese soldier who has lived there since World War Two.
It lands on the BBC next month.
LONG-RUNNING Aussie soap Neighbours filmed its last ever scenes on Friday after being scrapped for a second time.
Amazon Freevee picked up the teatime favourite from Channel 5 but weren't happy with its ratings.

Stacey Solomon and her Sort Your Life Out team have touched down in Scotland, sharing a group photo and asking for suggestions on how to make the most of their trip. Stacey Solomon is back with a new series of Sort Your Life Out, the hit BBC show where she and her expert team help families declutter and reorganise their homes, not only does the team offer practical advice they offer emotional support as families part ways with sentimental items and transform their living spaces. The show's team - known as the Dollies - and Stacey have now taken their organising mission to Scotland, where filming for the latest series is underway. Sharing a glimpse behind the scenes, Dollies took to social media with an update: "Hello Scotland. What a week to be filming here…we all feel like we are abroad surrounded by the most incredible scenery and views. What an incredible family already who we can't wait to spend the week helping. This family is like no other..." Clearly enjoying the Scottish setting, they also asked fans for local recommendations, adding: "What shouldn't we miss while we are here? Around the Edinburgh area..." Stacey Solomon and the Sort Your Life Out team previously travelled to Scotland during season four of the show, which aired last year. On that occasion, they stepped in to help a family with three small children who were struggling to manage the overwhelming clutter in their home. The mum of the household, Charlie, revealed that she works full-time, while her husband Keith stays at home to care for their three children. However, with Keith focused on looking after the kids the housework often takes a back seat. As a result, the home had become overrun with clutter, from mountains of toys to piles of clothes, making it difficult for the family, who live in Bonnybridge, to even move around comfortably in their own space. Sadly for Charlie, she had to go back to work just three months after having her youngest child which meant that Keith took some time off work to look after their kids - but it appeared Keith has been busy putting the kids first and avoiding cleaning. Stacey ended up emotionally invested in the family, as she was worried about the state of the house the children were growing up in. Inspecting the house, the crew revealed an overwhelming amount of belongings, including 131 pairs of shoes, 29 tins of paint, 30 remote controls, 22 toothbrushes, and 500 items of baby clothes. Keith had 144 t-shirts. Although the amount of stuff was no match for Stacey and her team, as they managed to declutter the once messy house into a liveable area.

In his heartrending disclosure, the Peep Show actor confessed to being "hopelessly in love" with Victoria Coren, who is now his wife, harbouring his unspoken affections for years before they finally got together, despite her initially rejecting him. "I was hopelessly in love. I told no one about it," he reveals in his book. "I didn't tell my closest friends or my parents of the enormous sadness that overshadowed my life." The adoration he felt for Victoria lingered in silence until she consented to a date years later. "I waited three years. Isn't that weird? Aren't I odd? I can't explain it other than to say I couldn't do anything else," he reflects in his writing. "If only I'd known I just had to wait three years... I would gladly have suffered ten times as much." Although he was devastated, the sharp-witted star kept his anguish well-concealed behind his characteristic self-effacing humour. "The problem is, I hate the sort of dating thing," he admits, reports the Express. "I just find it incredibly awkward... I don't dislike being single enough to put myself through the pain." David and Victoria, now host of BBC's Only Connect, instantly hit it off at their fatefully timed meeting during a Halloween party in 2007, having been introduced by fellow comedian David Baddiel. Victoria confessed: "He specifically said to me, 'There's David Mitchell over there, I think you should probably marry him, I'll get the ball rolling by introducing you. I thought that was ridiculous but, a couple of hours later, I thought I would probably marry him," as reported by MSN. Initially, Victoria brushed off the suggestion, but by the end of the night, she was sold on the idea. Despite their instant connection, it took several years before they embarked on their first official date. "I thought that was ridiculous, but a couple of hours later, I thought I would probably marry him," she reminisces. Although they hit it off immediately, the timing wasn't quite right. Victoria was still grieving the loss of her father, Alan Coren, who died from cancer in 2007. David patiently bided his time, never pressuring her but always nurturing the hope of a shared future. Their first official date eventually happened in 2010, and they tied the knot in 2012. David has never shied away from expressing his deep love for Victoria. "I am just incredibly proud that someone like Victoria wants to be with me," he declares. "She has these amazing qualities, but fundamentally, we clicked. I fell in love with her." Man wrongly accused of felling Sycamore Gap tree 'wears Rod Stewart wig' to hide
A man who was arrested over the felling of the iconic Sycamore Gap tree says he's taken unusual measures to avoid public abuse. Walter Renwick, a lumberjack, was arrested the day after the popular tree was felled in September 2023. The 70ft tree – which featured in 1991 Kevin Costner movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves – sat in a gap in Hadrian's Wall and was one of the most beloved trees in the UK. But it was chopped down in the middle of the night. Two friends, called 'moronic' by a judge, have been found guilty of criminal damage over the felling. Mr Renwick, 69, was released without charge by December 2023. He spoke out at the time, saying he was not 'stupid' enough to cut down the tree – but it public outcry against the tree felling means Mr Renwick is still associated with the Sycamore Gap. Speaking to the BBC yesterday, he described his home in Northumberland being searched as 'heartbreaking' and said he would be pointed out in the street. Mr Renwick of the police searches: 'There were police everywhere, drones flying around the valley, divers in the lake, they were 100% certain I'd done it. 'Every time I went shopping in Haltwhistle or Hexham, people were nudging each other and saying 'that's him that cut the tree down', stuff like that. 'I know it was daft but I put a Rod Stewart wig on so people didn't spot me.' Months before the Sycamore Gap tree was felled, Mr Renwick had been evicted from Plankey Mill Farm near Bardon Mill, just a few miles from Hadrian's Wall. The tenancy held by his grandfather and father had not passed to him – and this led to online sleuths suggesting the eviction was his motivation for chopping down the tree. 'I'd just lost everything I had, my cows, my sheep, my parents' stuff. I'd lost my home and then this,' Mr Renwick said. Daniel Graham, 39, and Adam Carruthers, 32, both from Cumbria, were both found guilty by an unanimous jury of criminal damage at Newcastle crown court in May. More Trending Discussing the true culprits, Mr Renwick said: 'I just keep asking myself why they did it. 'Was it just attention seeking? I don't know what it was but, for me at least, it's over. 'Actually, you know, the tree, that was one thing. But losing my farm. That was the thing that hurt most of all.' Got a story?
