Legendary Ex Inter Milan Captain Argues ‘The Psychology Changes' For Inter After Napoli Serie A Slip-Up
Beppe Bergomi feels that 'the psychology changes' for Inter Milan in Serie A after Napoli dropped points yesterday evening.
The legendary former Nerazzurri captain gave his thoughts on Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908.
The complexion of the Serie A title race certainly changed yesterday evening.
Napoli still have the advantage. However, their advantage is now as slender as it could possibly be.
Inter Milan got the job done away to Torino, winning 2-0. On the other hand, the Partenopei twice squandered a 2-0 advantage against Genoa, settling for a point.
Therefore, there is now just a single point separating the two title rivals at the top of the table.
It is hardly as though Inter are now in control in the Serie A title race. They know that there is still every chance that Napoli will win both their remaining matches.
But at the same time, the Nerazzurri will also feel that they absolutely must keep the league leaders honest.
If Napoli drop points again, Inter Milan certainly won't want to fail to capitalize.
In the view of former Inter captain Bergomi 'something has changed' for Inter at this stage.
'They played a serious match against Parma,' the 1982 World Cup winner with Italy continued.
'Now they're seriously thinking about it. Because Napoli have used up their bonus, and they can't draw in Parma any longer 0 they have to win.'
So in the view of Bergomi, 'Inter will do everything to win their last two matches.'
'The psychology changes now,' the former defender argued.
'Now we need to see what choices Inzaghi will make,' Bergomi added. 'How he will try to manage the players.'

Matthäus: Sané should be at World Cup if he delivers for Galatasaray
Germany's Leroy Sane in action during the UEFA Nations League semi final soccer match between Germany and Portugal at Allianz Arena. Sven Hoppe/dpa Former Germany and Bayern Munich captain Lothar Matthäus has welcomed Leroy Sané's move to Galatasaray and believes he has a good chance of retaining his place in the national team and playing at the 2026 World Cup if he delivers for the Istanbul club. "It is up to Leroy: If he performs for Gala in the league and in the Champions League as well he has a very good chance to play at the World Cup," Matthäus told Saturday's Bild paper. Advertisement Germany winger Sané, 29, joined Turkish domestic double winners Galatasaray in mid-week on a three-year contract on a free transfer after five seasons at Bayern Munich. Matthäus, who led Germany to the 1990 World Cup title, spoke of a "super" transfer for Sané and a big statement by Galatasaray. "Galatasaray have ambitions, a big budget, Turkish football has become stronger, the time of scandals is over," he said. He praised "super stadiums" in Turkey, and good coaches "who have brought calm to the clubs." Matthäus said that Sané never had this kind of standing in Munich which resulted in renewal talks collapsing because the club wanted him to accept a pay cut. Advertisement "The club didn't really want to keep him. While other players got considerably more money in their renewals, Bayern went on the salary brakes with him," Matthäus said. "Bayern never really fought for Sané."

Once again, and in line with the broader BlueCo strategy that has also been implemented at Chelsea, Les Alsaciens are turning towards the market in South America and trying to identify the most promising prospects coming through. Advertisement As per Romano, the Ligue 1 club are now set to sign full-back Candido from São Paulo. The Italian journalist understands that the deal has already been completed, with the Brazilian club keeping a 12% sell-on clause.
