The yatra began from LMC headquarters at 7am and passing through Mayfair and Hazratganj crossings, reached the BJP state headquarters, and culminated at LMC. Delhi Confidential: New assignment
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan scheme from his constituency Varanasi on Saturday. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, however, will not join the PM at the event as he has been asked to attend the programme in poll-bound Bihar. Chouhan will attend the function via videoconferencing from Patna. This is the first time since Chouhan took charge as the Agriculture Minister in June 2024 that he won't share the stage with PM Modi during the PM-Kisan installment release event. He has attended all three previous functions — at Varanasi (June 2024), Washim (October 2024) and Bhagalpur (February 2025) — in person. Pledge To Protect A recent drive showed that the Indian Armed Forces continue to be one of the biggest supporters of the country's organ donation initiatives. Since rolling out an Aadhaar-enabled digital database of organ donors, NOTTO, the country's apex organ donation regulator, has been conducting drives to get more and more people to sign up. In one such drive, the Indian Army, Mumbai recorded the highest number of pledges with nearly 26,000 Army personnel signing up for organ donation. On Back Burner Again Preparations for the BJP's annual Tiranga Yatra seem to have put a halt on the party's organisational elections in states such as UP and Gujarat, which, many within the BJP believe, is causing further delay in the process to elect the next national party president. BJP insiders say organisational activities around the programme have pushed the internal elections beyond 'at least August 15'.

BJP To Hold Nationwide 'Tiranga Yatra' To Highlight Op Sindoor Success
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to launch a nationwide Tiranga Yatra (Tricolour March) across all mandals (local units) from August 10 to 14. The campaign aims to spread patriotism and highlight the success of Operation Sindoor, according to sources. During the yatra, the speeches delivered in Parliament by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and other senior leaders during the special discussion on Operation Sindoor will be widely promoted among the public. As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the national flag will be hoisted on every home and establishment from August 13 to 15. Earlier, the BJP conducted a 10-day Tiranga Yatra from May 13 to May 23 to celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor. The objective was not only to inform the public about the achievements of the operation but also to inspire a spirit of national pride and unity. This new phase of the campaign follows 16 hours of discussion in the Lok Sabha on Operation Sindoor, reinforcing its national significance. A Swachhata Abhiyan (cleanliness drive) will be conducted at sites linked to the freedom struggle, war memorials, and national landmarks. "Placards praising India's defence forces, commemorating martyrs, and showcasing indigenous defence equipment will be prominently displayed throughout the yatra. As part of the events, police officers, war heroes, and the families of martyred soldiers will be honoured in recognition of their service and sacrifice. Additionally, visits to border outposts will be organised--subject to official permissions--where serving soldiers will be formally felicitated for their dedication to the nation," said sources. On August 14, a silent march will be held across the country to observe Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas (Partition Horrors Remembrance Day), paying tribute to those who suffered during the Partition. Each state will constitute a committee comprising one convenor and three members to coordinate the yatra. At the national level, BJP National General Secretary Sunil Bansal has been appointed as the chief coordinator for the campaign. The Tiranga Yatra is expected to become a unifying movement celebrating India's military achievements, honouring its heroes, and fostering a renewed spirit of nationalism. During the May yatra, slogans such as "Bharat Mata Ki Jai," "Hindustan Zindabad," and "Indian Army Zindabad" echoed across the skies, with millions participating in what the party described as a symbol of India's unity against terrorism (Except for the headline, this story has not been edited by NDTV staff and is published from a syndicated feed.)

BJP's Nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga' Drive Ahead Of Independence Day: What Is Planned
Last Updated: A circular issued by BJP national general secretary Arun Singh outlined the activities planned between August 10 and 15 across all states and districts In the run-up to the 79th Independence Day, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced an extensive patriotic campaign titled 'Har Ghar Tiranga–Tiranga Yatra", aimed at reinforcing national unity and celebrating India's recent counter-terror success under Operation Sindoor. A circular issued by BJP national general secretary Arun Singh outlined the activities planned between August 10 and 15 across all states and districts. Highlighting the campaign's significance, the circular draws from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address in Parliament, where he declared the ongoing monsoon session as 'India's victory celebration", commemorating the decisive offensive under Operation Sindoor. The Prime Minister underscored the operation as a symbol of the valour of India's armed forces and the nation's resolve to dismantle terrorism at its roots. Between August 13 and 15, party workers are instructed to ensure the Indian flag is hoisted at every home and establishment. Notably, the circular emphasises that wherever possible, hoisting should be done by children, instilling a sense of pride and connection among the younger generation. On the evening of August 15, the flag must be respectfully lowered as per protocol. A major cleanliness drive will be undertaken from August 12 to 14 at memorials, war monuments, and freedom struggle sites, followed by floral tributes. Special attention will be paid to honouring war veterans, martyrs, and families of police personnel who laid down their lives in the service of the nation. Senior leaders and workers in border states have been directed to visit border posts with prior permission to honour soldiers stationed there. On August 14, the party will observe Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas (Partition Horrors Remembrance Day) with silent marches, exhibitions, hall meetings, and outreach to families affected by the 1947 partition. The circular mandates the formation of state-level committees and completion of preparatory meetings at all levels by August 8. A dedicated team under BJP national general secretary Sunil Bansal will coordinate the programme nationwide, with senior leaders including K Surendran, VD Sharma, and Sadanand Shet Tanavade leading the effort. To ensure transparency and documentation, party workers are required to upload event details and images on the NaMo App and Saral Portal. The campaign, BJP leaders say, is not just about national pride but also a collective reaffirmation of India's sovereignty, unity, and unbreakable spirit. view comments First Published: July 30, 2025, 06:30 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
