MP Jagadish Shettar, MLC CT Ravi, and MLA Abhay Patil spoke at the programme.
Ravi said that 50 years ago, there were attempts to move away from democratic values by imposing a state of Emergency, which was declared for selfish reasons, to weaken the rights of the people, to control the judiciary, to take away the freedom of the Press, and for the suppression of human rights. "The Constitution reached a comatose state under the Congress dictatorship," he said, adding: "Those who massacred the Constitution shouldn't speak about it.
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge did not raise his voice then. It was Jan Sangh, RSS, and BJP who did it."
Shettar said the imposition of Emergency in India was an act of insulting the Constitution.
More than 10 dignitaries who were imprisoned during the Emergency were honoured on the occasion. The programme was conducted to create awareness among the people by reviving the 'dark history' of Congress.

Shettar demands resignation of CM, DCM based on rampant corruption charges
Belagavi: Lok Sabha member and former chief minister of Karnataka , Jagadish Shettar , said that corruption is rampant in the Congress govt. "The ruling party's MLAs and ministers are expressing dissatisfaction over this. There is no money for development works," he said and demanded that chief minister Siddaramaiah and deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar should take moral responsibility and resign from power. Speaking to media in Belagavi on Monday, Shettar launched a scathing attack on the state govt over its administrative stance and the statements of MLAs and ministers. "The Upper Krishna Project requires Rs 50,000 crore for its third phase. If this project is completed in phases, thousands of hectares of land will be irrigated, benefiting farmers. However, the Upper Krishna Project was completely ignored by the govt. Thousands of crores of rupees are being spent on guarantee schemes, but no funds are being released for any other work. Even the ruling party's MLAs are extremely unhappy about this," he pointed out. MLAs who are fed up with the Congress are considering leaving the party on their own," he said and added that there are many leaders in the Congress who admire Prime Minister Modi's political polarisation leadership, and it would not be surprising if political consolidation takes place in the future. CT Ravi seeks minister Zameer's resignation Speaking to the media on Monday, legislative council member CT Ravi said that the MLAs of that party have expressed dissatisfaction against the corruption in the state govt's rule. This dissatisfaction is not a private matter. This should be investigated under the leadership of the working judge. Before this, he said, minister Zameer Ahmed should resign. "There is no Congress without corruption. There is no corruption without Congress. The govt seems to think that giving guarantee schemes is akin to a license for corruption. If it thought so, it should have implemented rate cards in all departments, he said. Raju Kage is not a BJP MLA. He himself said that not a single paisa of work has been done by the govt. The price hike after the Congress govt came to power is a big deal. Work announcements are made. Work orders are not made. MLA Raju Kage has spoken the truth. You have three more years. Your own party is accused of corruption, you have no morals to continue in power, he lashed out.

Kashi region unit president Dilip Singh Patel said that party workers expressed gratitude to Shah for giving the honour to the city for hosting the CZC meet. After the G20 meeting, getting the opportunity to host the CZC meet is a matter of pride for the city as it is the first meeting of the zonal council, which is being organised in any non-state capital city, said the BJP leader. From the Kaal Bhairav temple, Shah reached Hotel Taj to host dinner for Tuesday's CZC meet participants, including Yogi, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav, and Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai, who had already arrived before Shah reached Varanasi. Two ministers from each state and around 100 senior officers from different ministries and departments, who will take part in the proposed meeting, also attended the dinner. In view of the stay and movement of VIPs, three-layered security arrangements were ensured by police officials by deploying around 5,000 police and paramilitary personnel. Additional forces had already arrived by Sunday evening and, following detailed briefing, they were deployed for security exercises, crowd control, and ensuring strict implementation of traffic diversions planned on the routes of movement of VIPs.

PM Modi puts forward visionary concept of
New Delhi [India], June 23 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday chaired the 47th Annual General Meeting of the Prime Ministers Museum and Library (PMML) Society at Teen Murti Bhawan in New Delhi and put forward a visionary concept of a 'Museum Map of India', aimed at providing a unified cultural and informational landscape of museums across the country. The PM discussed different aspects of museums in India, including leveraging the power of technology and involving more youngsters in their work. According to an official release, Prime Minister emphasised during the meeting that museums hold immense significance across the world and have the power to make us experience history. He underlined the need to make continuous efforts to generate public interest in museums and to enhance their prestige in society. Underlining the importance of increased use of technology, Prime Minister suggested development of a comprehensive national database of all museums in the country, incorporating key metrics such as footfall and quality standards. He also suggested organising regular workshops for those managing and operating museums, with a focus on capacity building and knowledge sharing. Prime Minister highlighted the need for fresh initiatives, such as the creation of a committee consisting of five persons from each State below the age of 35 years in order to bring out fresh ideas and perspectives on museums in the country. The Prime Minister also highlighted that with the creation of a museum on all Prime Ministers, justice has been done to their legacy, including that of the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. This was not the case before 2014. Prime Minister also asked for engaging top influencers to visit the museums and also invite the officials of various embassies to Indian museums to increase the awareness about the rich heritage preserved in Indian Museums. Prime Minister advised that a compilation of all the legal battles and documents relating to the Emergency period may be prepared and preserved in light of the completion of 50 years after the Emergency. Prime Minister highlighted the importance of preserving and documenting the present in a systematic manner. He noted that by strengthening our current systems and records, we can ensure that future generations and researchers in particular will be able to study and understand this period without difficulty. Other Members of the PMML Society also shared their suggestions and insights for further enhancement of the Museum and Library. The Prime Minister also planted a Kapur (Cinnamomum camphora) tree in the lawns of Teen Murti House, symbolising growth, heritage, and sustainability. (ANI)
