Clemson makes a huge splash in the transfer portal landing guard Jestin Porter

Yahoo23-04-2025
According to multiple reports, Brad Brownell and the Clemson Tigers have secured a key addition to their backcourt with the commitment of former Middle Tennessee State guard Jestin Porter.
Porter, a 6-foot-1 scoring threat, chose Clemson over several other programs, including Arizona State and Ole Miss. Considered one of the top mid-major guards available in the portal, Porter is coming off a strong junior season in which he averaged 15 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He shot 41% from the field and connected on 36.4% of his three-point attempts.

Porter will arrive at Clemson as a rising senior with one year of eligibility remaining. He is expected to bring immediate offensive production and veteran presence to a Tiger backcourt that now includes returning guard Dillon Hunter and fellow transfer Efrem 'Butta' Johnson.
This marks the sixth addition for Clemson out of the portal this offseason, and the second guard. Brownell has also added size to the roster with big men Nick Davidson, Carter Welling, RJ Godfrey, and Jake Wahlin.
With Porter in the mix, Clemson continues to round out a roster that blends experience and scoring ability—something that could be crucial as the Tigers look to build on last season's NCAA Tournament run.

Texas A&M is a finalist to land elite 2026 4-star SF out of Marietta (GA)

Texas A&M head coach Bucky McMillan and his staff gained ground with Top-20 recruit Colben Landrew, who placed the Aggies in his top 10. The four-star 6-foot-6 guard/forward is scheduled for an official visit in early October, and Coach Bucky will do everything he can to keep A&M high on Landrew's list. Landrew is a big-bodied guard with a 6-foot-10 wingspan and a physical style of play that translates seamlessly from the football field to the hardwood. He's an intelligent player who's still developing as a shooter but has already shown a smooth touch. Landing in Landrew's top 10 is a strong first step, but the Aggies will need to cover serious ground to keep pace with programs like Auburn, Texas, and Alabama. If A&M can put a compelling product on the floor and show Landrew that his style fits the Bucky Ball system, it could go a long way in his recruitment. According to 247Sports, Landrew is ranked No. 61 nationally, No. 25 among small forwards, and No. 4 in the state of Texas. Michigan State basketball makes top six for 5-star center Ethan Taylor

Michigan State basketball fans got some welcome news on the recruiting front on Saturday, when 2026 5-star center Ethan Taylor dropped his top six schools for his recruitment and included the Spartans in that group. Ethan Taylor is a 7-foot, 244-pound center who is currently ranked the No.1 center in the class by the 247Sports composite rankings. They have him ranked at No. 22 in the 2026 class by those same composite rankings. Taylor's list was first released by Joe Tipton of Tipton Edits on and included the following teams: That is a pretty big list of heavy-hitters that Michigan State will need to go up against to land this recruitment, including two Big Ten schools. Indiana is particularly interesting as they just brought in new head coach Darian DeVries, who will be looking to make a big splash.
