Two Ariana Grande Smashes Return — Including A Christmas Song?
Ariana Grande is accustomed to scoring big hits all around the world. Usually, whenever she delivers something new, it rockets toward the top of charts seemingly everywhere. This week, the focus is not on the newer tunes – or what she's about to share – but rather on two of her past smashes, which are proving their staying power once again.
It's not unusual for older songs – especially from powerhouses like Grande – to casually return. What makes her current resurgence particularly interesting is that the two tracks could not be more different from one another. One is an electronic dance anthem, and the other is a Christmas classic. Somehow, both are among the bestselling physical singles in the country right now — even though it's March.
Grande sees two of her most beloved songs reappear on the Official Physical Singles chart this week. That tally ranks the bestselling tracks across any physical format in the U.K.
'Break Free,' her high-energy collaboration with Zedd, is back at No. 70. Meanwhile, 'Santa Tell Me' surprises many by finding its way back to the tally at No. 73, despite the fact that the holiday season ended months ago.
Both 'Break Free' and 'Santa Tell Me' have a successful history on the Official Physical Singles chart. 'Break Free' has now spent nine weeks on the ranking, and at its peak, it climbed as high as No. 7.
Meanwhile, 'Santa Tell Me' has spent a total of eight frames on the tally and once reached a No. 3. That's a lofty position for a holiday cut, though British music lovers are known for their penchant for yuletide tracks.
Grande has more than just these two songs on the U.K. charts. 'Defying Gravity,' her duet with Cynthia Erivo from the Wicked film, is still present on a pair of different sales-based lists, though it's declining this week. The track drops from No. 55 to No. 75 on the Official Singles Sales list and falls from No. 51 to No. 71 on the Official Singles Downloads roster.
Her latest single, 'The Boy Is Mine,' is gaining traction. The Eternal Sunshine track climbs on both of the tallies where it appears, rising from No. 31 to No. 29 on the Official Physical Singles chart and improving from No. 35 to No. 33 on the Official Vinyl Singles ranking.
Grande's latest album Eternal Sunshine is also back. The project returns to two charts in the U.K. this week, placing at No. 89 on both the Official Albums and Official Albums Streaming rankings.
The resurgence of Eternal Sunshine comes at an exciting time, as the singer is heavily teasing the release of a deluxe edition. Fans are eagerly awaiting the expanded version, which is expected to arrive later this month.

Jonathan Bailey Told The Story Behind Rapidly Preparing To Film Wicked, And I'm Laughing Over How He Reacted To Headbutting Ariana Grande
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. In Wicked, Jonathan Bailey's Fiyero dazzled us all with his moves during the standout 'Dancing Through Life' musical number. However, he just reminded us that he wasn't always as smooth as his character on the set of the movie. As we wait for the Wicked: For Good release date to arrive, he recently shared a funny story about the time he was rehearsing with Ariana Grande and things got totally awkward when he missed a step. Jonathan Bailey has been a busy fellow in recent years, and just ahead of landing on set to play Fiyero for Wicked, he was shooting Bridgerton and Fellow Travelers, and he didn't have much time to prep. Here's a funny story the actor told GQ about dancing through life with Ariana Grande: I remember having four hours to learn how to do a dance move. I did it with Ari, headbutted her, and was like, 'Gotta go!' I think she might have even headbutted me, but it was a meeting of minds, literally. Bailey is so quick on his feet in Wicked, one would never know he only had a short amount of time to prepare for the movie's big dance numbers. I'm definitely laughing over his reaction to headbutting global pop star and our Glinda, Ariana Grande, because it sounds like he got super embarrassed and wanted to peace out as soon as it happened. I can't say I blame him for zooming away, and I guess even the Bridgerton star can get embarrassed! Peacock TV: from $7.99 a month/$79.99 a yearWhile we wait for For Good, you can stream Wicked with a Peacock subscription. Costing as little as $7.99 a month, you can also pay more for Peacock Premium and enjoy ad-free streams and the option to download titles to watch offline Deal It's a funny story, but things like this have to be part of the job, especially when you have the schedule Jonathan Bailey did prior to his Independence Day-like experience landing on the set of the Wicked movies. Bailey said he joined the movie after taking part in just three days of rehearsals. And previously, Ariana Grande shared that he was learning the choreography on his days off shooting Bridgerton just before he came onto the sets of Wicked. He would fly in just to have a dance rehearsal and then return to the Bridgerton set before officially settling into Oz for the shoot. Fiyero's dancing in Wicked is definitely one of the many highlights of the first movie, especially when it comes to that rotating library in 'Dancing Through Life,' which proved to be one of the more technically challenging scenes in the first movie. However, it feels like we're going to want to hold that scene close after seeing the Wicked: For Good trailer, because it signals a major tonal shift for all the characters. Take a look below: Rather than Fiyero simply being the charismatic prince that gets the students of Shiz to break some rules and go out dancing, in For Good he's become the Captain of the Wizard's Guard who's still caught in a love triangle between Glinda and Elphaba. Thank goodness Wicked: For Good is among the 2025 movie releases! The movie hits theaters on November 21. In the meantime, I'll just be picturing Jonathan Bailey and Ariana Grande headbutting and the actor promptly running away after it happened.

Something that Amal—who accompanied her husband in a stunning white gown adorned with pearl—is grateful for? George finally returned to his famed salt-and-pepper locks after going dark for his onstage role as Edward R. Murrow. "I had to cut it all out with a weed whacker to get it all," George teased at Radio City Music Hall. "That black hair dye, I had to cut it out. You can't color that." Although the E.R. alum kept the eyebrow-raising hair color for his latest project, he was ready to rid himself of the look as soon as he and the cast took their final bows. 'We do a matinee, and then by the time we go to the Tonys that night, it'll be gone,' he explained on Late Night with Seth Meyers June 3. 'I may have a shaved head.' Meanwhile, Amal has made it clear that she isn't a fan of the look either. "It's not my favorite look, and my wife, she thinks it's funny," George quipped on CBS Mornings in April. 'Honestly, nothing makes you look older than being 63 and dyeing your hair." For more stars at the 2025 Tony Awards, keep reading. Oprah Winfrey Recreates Viral 'Wicked 'Finger-Holding Moment with Cynthia Erivo During 2025 Tony Awards: Watch
Cynthia Erivo and Oprah Winfrey recreated Erivo and Ariana Grande's viral "holding space" Wicked press tour meme at the 2025 Tony Awards on Sunday, June 8 "The only thing you need to do is just be yourself," Winfrey told Erivo, before Erivo grasped her finger and the two women smiled knowingly Erivo is hosting the ceremony, airing live now from New York City's Radio City Music Hall on CBS and Paramount+Cynthia Erivo is holding space for Oprah Winfrey at the 2025 Tony Awards. The actress and singer, 38, began the ceremony at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday, June 8, with a sequence that showed her emerging from her dressing room on her way to the stage to host — only to be accosted by several people giving her tips on how to stage her opening number. The final person Erivo ran into before her big entrance? None other than icon Winfrey, 71, who gave her a useful pep talk. "What do you do when everyone is telling you what you need to do?" Erivo asked Winfrey, who replied, "Forget about them, babe! The only thing you need to do is just be yourself." The two women then smiled knowingly after Winfrey stuck out her right index finger, which Erivo grasped — a cheeky nod to the viral "holding space" moment between Erivo and her Wicked costar Ariana Grande that came out of their Wicked press tour last fall. View this post on Instagram A post shared by CBS (@cbstv) In the original interview that went viral in November 2024, Out journalist Tracy Gilchrist told Erivo and Grande, 31, that the LGBTQ+ community was connecting with and "holding space with" the lyrics of "Defying Gravity." In an interview with Variety the following month, Grande said that in that moment, Erivo looked like she might cry. So Grande provided support to her friend the only way she could think of in the moment: clutching Erivo's index finger and tapping her long acrylic nail. Fans quickly reposted and recreated the moment on social media following the exchange. Grande recalled of the interview to Variety, '[Gilchrist] said something that meant something to her, then it meant something totally different to [Erivo], and then she tried to kind of get somewhere else. I remember in the moment asking myself, 'Am I okay? Did I not hear something?' ... because she looks like she was about to cry again.' is now available in the Apple App Store! The 'Thank U, Next' singer then shared that she decided to grab Erivo's finger at that moment 'because I [thought] you might need something." 'And I don't know what the tapping was about,' Grande continued, as Erivo jokingly added, 'Tension, tension." Grande then reflected on all the memes about the interview that were shared on social media, stating that they were "so beautiful.' 'I feel really relieved that the world had the same experience with this moment that I did, because I felt like, 'Oh I'm not broken.' The best thing to is to really hold space with that,' she joked.
