Morgan Wallen Manages A Very Rare Feat For Country Musicians Outside Of America
Morgan Wallen earns his first U.K. No. 1 album with I'm the Problem, topping multiple tallies and ... More sending two songs to the Official Singles chart. KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE - SEPTEMBER 22: Morgan Wallen performs onstage for night two of his One Night At A Time tour at Neyland Stadium on September 22, 2024 in Knoxville, Tennessee. (Photo byfor for Morgan Wallen's One Night At A Time 2024) Morgan Wallen may be one of the biggest musical stars in America right now, but since he's such a central figure in country music, his work doesn't usually reach a global audience like some rappers or pop stars might. With his latest full-length I'm the Problem, the Grammy nominee has finally scored a major win in the United Kingdom, where he's been steadily building an audience for years. His newest release debuts at No. 1, earning the superstar his first leader on several tallies. I'm the Problem opens at No. 1 on the Official Albums chart, which ranks the most consumed full-lengths and EPs in the U.K. That's the most important list of albums in the country — but it's not the only one where I'm the Problem runs the show. Wallen also starts his latest project atop the Official Albums Sales, Official Physical Albums, and Official Country Artists Albums rankings. Wallen dominates three of those four lists for the very first time. He has previously hit the top spot on the Official Country Artists Albums chart – several times, in fact. The singer-songwriter has only placed a trio of titles on the list, and all of them have spent at least one turn at No. 1. Dangerous led for half a dozen frames, while One Thing at a Time only managed a single stint in charge. Coincidentally, I'm the Problem also reaches the same starting point — No. 4 — on three other tallies. It kicks off its boots and makes a home in that spot on the Official Albums Streaming, Official Album Downloads, and Official Vinyl Albums charts simlutaneously. In almost every instance, Wallen collects his first top 10 win with I'm the Problem. He has previously entered the coveted top 10 on the Official Album Downloads chart and, of course, on the Official Country Artists Albums list, where he has accrued three leaders. Country music is not nearly as popular in the U.K. as it is in America, and it's rare for acts working in that style to top any ranking — let alone U.S.-based superstars. Wallen's reach now clearly extends beyond album rankings, as he scores two new hits on the Official Singles Chart. 'What I Want,' a collaboration with Tate McRae, launches highest, as it starts at No. 32. 'Just in Case,' another previous single from the set, finally debuts at No. 75, weeks after it was first released. Wallen has now accrued 10 placements on the most competitive songs ranking in that nation with these two wins.

Miley Cyrus's New Single Disappoints As It Arrives
Miley Cyrus's 'More to Lose' debuts at No. 91 on the U.K. singles chart ahead of her Something ... More Beautiful album, underperforming despite fan purchases. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 04: Miley Cyrus performs onstage during the 66th GRAMMY Awards on February 04, 2024 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo byfor The Recording Academy) In a little over a week, Miley Cyrus will release her new album, Something Beautiful. The set is one of the most highly anticipated pop projects of 2025, but so far, it has yet to produce a true global smash. After dropping the first single, 'End of the World,' in early April, the singer recently delivered a new tune from the project titled 'More to Lose.' While it's not clear if the track is a proper single or just a promotional cut, as it arrives on the charts in the United Kingdom, it disappoints somewhat by getting off to a very slow beginning. 'More to Lose' barely makes it onto the Official Singles chart, the ranking of the 100 most-consumed songs across the country. It launches at No. 91, earning the second-lowest start of the week. Only Blackpink singer Rosé comes in lower, as her new track 'Messy,' taken from the F1 soundtrack, manages a lower starting point as it debuts in last place, at No. 100. 'More to Lose' also manages to appear on two purchase-focused rankings, as it seems that fans buying the cut to support Cyrus are largely to thank for its debut. 'More to Lose' opens at No. 39 on the Official Singles Downloads chart. It just misses out on becoming a top 40 success on the Official Singles Sales tally, which takes into account not just digital downloads but also purchases on physical formats, as it kicks off its time at No. 41. On each of those three rankings, Cyrus sees her previous focus track appear much higher, as interest in 'End of the World' is still relatively strong. The tune drops on the trio of lists this frame, but it's still performing decently. It dips nearly 20 spaces on the Official Singles chart, falling from No. 65 to No. 83. It does manage to remain inside the top 40 on both the Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales rankings, coming in at Nos. 30 and 31, respectively. 'More to Lose' is the fourth song released ahead of Something Beautiful dropping in full, which is set to happen on May 30. Before 'End of the World,' she shared both 'The Prelude' and the title track. Both of those cuts made minor chart impacts in a handful of nations, but were not promoted as proper singles. Depending on how well 'More to Lose' performs in the coming weeks, it could be upgraded to proper single status — or it may remain in this gray area as something of a promotional tune.

Blackpink's Lisa Keeps Using Major Collaborations To Her Advantage
Lisa and Maroon 5 debut their new single 'Priceless' at No. 69 on the Official Singles chart, with ... More even better positions on the sales rankings in the U.K. INDIO, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 22: Lisa of BLACKPINK performs at the Coachella Stageduring the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 22, 2023 in Indio, California. (Photo byfor Coachella) As Blackpink singer Lisa continues to promote her debut solo album Alter Ego and several singles from the project, she scores a new win on charts all around the world. The singer and rapper has teamed up with pop band Maroon 5 for its new track, "Priceless." The group is hoping for something of a comeback, tapping into Lisa's incredible popularity and talent — and the plan has worked, at least in the beginning. The collaboration debuts on rankings in many major markets, and Lisa scores another successful non-solo tune in the United Kingdom. Her always-expanding list of appearances on the main singles chart in that country underscores just how instrumental collaborations have been to her success outside of Blackpink. "Priceless" is Lisa's sixth hit under her own name on the Official Singles chart. That list ranks the most popular tracks across the U.K., blending both sales and streaming activity during the latest frame. The Maroon 5 duet opens at No. 69. Lisa is quickly racking up hits, but Maroon 5 has been doing so for years. The band earns its twenty-eighth win on the Official Singles chart and has claimed at least a dozen successes on both of the purchase-only rosters. Lisa's half-dozen appearances on the Official Singles chart are split evenly between entirely solo efforts and collaborations. Her first three charting tracks — "Lalisa," "Money," and "Rockstar" — did not credit any other artists. Her most recent three, however, have benefited in part from the fan bases of other acts. The Blackpink star scored her first successful collaboration on the Official Singles chart in August 2024, when "New Woman" with Rosalía debuted at No. 55. It spent just one frame on the tally before dropping off. In February of this year, she was joined by Doja Cat and Raye on "Born Again," one of the biggest singles from Alter Ego. That track nearly reached the top 10, peaking at a lucky No. 13 and sticking around for seven frames. Now with "Priceless," Lisa has collected a trio of charting collaborations in a row. Half of her solo output on the Official Singles chart includes other musical acts. "Priceless" performs significantly better when looking at pure purchases when compared to the main songs ranking. The title opens at No. 8 on the Official Singles Downloads chart and comes in one spot lower on the Official Singles Sales roster.

BTS Leader RM Keeps His Winning Streak Perfect With A New Smash
RM and Tablo debut 'Stop the Rain' in the U.K. top 10, marking another solo hit for the BTS star as ... More the track starts at No. 9 on downloads and No. 10 on sales. SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA - OCTOBER 28: RM of boy band BTS poses for photographs at the W Magazine Korea Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign 'Love Your W' at Four Seasons Hotel on October 28, 2022 in Seoul, South Korea. (Photo by Han Myung-Gu/WireImage) RM has been the leader of BTS for many years, and like his six bandmates, he has also enjoyed great success as a soloist in addition to the many smashes that the outfit has produced. He's been especially busy during the band's hiatus, as several members fulfill their mandatory military enlistment. In the past year or so, RM has been racking up hits under his own name. He's relatively new to the charts in the United Kingdom, at least under his own moniker, and he continues to add to his growing list of commercial successes this week as BTS fans look ahead to the second half of 2025, which may see the septet releasing new music. RM recently joined fellow South Korean musician Tablo on the track 'Stop the Rain,' and the hip-hop tune has quickly become a bestseller in the U.K. This frame, the collaboration opens on two tallies, managing to debut inside the top 10 on both of them. 'Stop the Rain' starts at No. 9 on the Official Singles Downloads chart and enters at No. 10 on the Official Singles Sales list. All four of RM's tunes that have reached either list have cracked the top 10, though 'Stop the Rain' marks a new all-time low for the musician. RM's first two successes — 'Come Back to Me' and 'Lost' — both peaked at No. 1. Those tracks arrived in May and June 2024, respectively. In September, RM joined Megan Thee Stallion on 'Neva Play,' which also reached the top five on both tallies. 'Stop the Rain' is Tablo's first bestseller in the U.K. This is a fairly quiet frame in terms of exciting new songs debuting — at least according to the charts in the U.K. 'Stop the Rain' narrowly manages to open inside the top 10, yet it stands out as the highest-ranking new title and the only new cut to land in the uppermost region. At the moment, the song appears to be a standalone cut, one which further underline's RM's ability to sell music and help musicians from his home country reach Western audiences in ways they might not be able to do on their own.

Ed Sheeran's New Single Looks Like It's A Flop — But Don't Judge It Just Yet
Ed Sheeran's 'Old Phone' debuts on two U.K. charts after only hours of tracking, hinting at major ... More success ahead for the Play single. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 06: Ed Sheeran performs on NBC's "Today" at Rockefeller Plaza on June 06, 2023 in New York City. (Photo by) Getty Images Ed Sheeran's new album Play won't be released for months. The singer-songwriter has scheduled the full-length to drop in September, meaning he has the entire summer to dominate the charts, streaming platforms, and radio airwaves with catchy tunes. The forthcoming set brings him back to the top 40 sound that has made him one of the most successful musicians in that space of all time, and he's on the hunt for more massive hits. Sheeran recently moved on from lead cut "Azizam" and shared the nostalgic "Old Phone." The tune debuts on two charts in the United Kingdom this week, though, in very low positions. That doesn't suggest the track isn't successful — actually, when context is applied, it seems to say exactly the opposite, even though some may see these rankings as disappointing. "Old Phone" launches on the Official Singles Downloads chart at No. 87 this week. It comes in even lower on the Official Singles Sales list at No. 90. While those positions are far from impressive — especially for someone as successful as Sheeran, and certainly in the U.K., where he remains one of the most famous artists in the business — some more information is needed to explain why they may actually be rather impressive. The vast majority of albums and songs are released on Friday morning. That's when, in most markets, the official tracking week for charts begins. Musicians want a full seven days to rack up streams, sales, and radio attention in order to make their projects and tunes into hits, so they compete with one another on Fridays. Some musicians, however, in an effort to grab media attention before the far-too-packed Fridays, will release music on Thursday. While that does undercut an initial tracking week — sometimes giving artists just a few hours in which to collect streams and sales — there are other benefits. Sheeran dropped "Old Phone" midday on Thursday, May 1. That means that in just a few hours, the tune managed to still become one of the bestselling in the U.K. That type of performance is reserved only for the biggest names in the music industry, as most artists really need those full seven days in order to appear anywhere on the charts. The Future of Ed Sheeran's 'Old Phone' When the Official Charts Company refreshes its rankings in a few days, there's a good chance that "Old Phone" will become a certified smash. It will certainly rocket up both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads rankings, where this time around it adds to Sheeran's growing list of favorites. He's now collected at least 79 hits on both tallies. The tune will also likely reach a number of other rankings, including those dedicated to streaming activity and the all-consumption Official Singles chart. As "Old Phone" gets off to a slow start, "Azizam" — the lead single from Play — is performing very well. After a month on the charts, it's still living inside the top 10 on all four lists on which it appears. This frame, it holds at No. 2 on the Official Singles Downloads ranking, its highest position.
