#SHOWBIZ: Andi Arsyil: Puteri Sarah and I are strictly professional

KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesian actor Andi Arsyil, 37, continues to refute claims of a romantic involvement with popular actress Puteri Sarah Liyana, maintaining their association is purely professional.
Andi emphasised his aversion to sensationalism, explaining that his appearances with Puteri Sarah on social media live broadcasts are strictly work-related, stemming from their business partnership.
"In my nearly 18 years in the entertainment industry, I've always avoided cheap gimmicks.
"My focus is on quality work, which speaks for itself. People can discern genuine efforts from artificial ones.
"I adhere to that principle," Andi told BH Online.
"As the saying goes, 'What you sow is what you reap.' Currently, my relationship with Puteri Sarah is that of business partners.
"We maintain a professional working dynamic. Personally, I hold Puteri Sarah in high regard.
"Despite some public perceptions, I find her to be a very good person."
Andi acknowledged that their two-year working relationship has fostered a comfortable rapport.
Their collaborations extend beyond skincare products to include a hijab business.
He reiterated that their social media presence serves primarily to promote these ventures.
"I recognise the inherent risks in this industry. Before working with Puteri Sarah, I was often linked to other women, as was she with other men.
"Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but ultimately, our paths are divinely ordained.
"I remain hopeful for the best outcome. If something isn't ideal, I'll strive to improve it," he said.
Andi added, "The reason for our frequent live broadcasts is our shared objective: to educate consumers."
"Many purchase skincare products without fully understanding their benefits or quality.
"Our aim, our shared vision, is to provide valuable information, and thankfully, we can do so without resorting to gimmicks," Andi explained.
"During these sessions, I often steer the conversation away from irrelevant personal questions, focusing instead on sharing useful insights."
Recounting their initial encounter, Andi revealed that Puteri Sarah contacted him after using his products. "I've been involved in business in Indonesia since 2011, but my partnership with Puteri Sarah began in 2023. She reached out after experiencing positive results with my products, expressing interest in introducing them to the Malaysian market."
"Puteri Sarah's satisfaction with the products led to our collaboration. We met and built the business from the ground up. Our active communication began in November 2023, following her initial contact in June 2023," he said.

Saidah Kamarudin cancels wedding, claims ex has only RM500 in his bank account

Malaysian actress Saidah Kamarudin called off her wedding with fellow actor Muhammad Muntazar Ghufran in October 2024. Photos: Saidah Kamarudin/Instagram, mStar Malaysian actress Saidah Kamarudin has opened up about the reason behind her decision to end her engagement to fellow actor Muhammad Muntazar Ghufran in October last year. The former couple got engaged in May 2024, after a year of dating. In a recent interview with mStar, The Star 's Malay-language news portal, Saidah, 29, cited financial instability as one of the main reasons she called off her wedding. According to her, Muntazar, 22, had only RM500 in his bank account. 'How can you take care of someone with that amount? You shouldn't be marrying. You should be looking for a job or continuing your studies,' she lamented. The actress further alleged that after the breakup, Muntazar hacked into her TikTok account and posted fake comments under her name to damage her reputation. One of the comments reportedly said she had not moved on from the split and was also taking pills due to stress. It's understood that Saidah filed a report at the Setia Alam police station in Shah Alam, Selangor, on May 31. 'When Muntazar and I were still together, we'd share the passwords to our social media accounts. After we broke up, I changed my passwords and removed all access. 'He wasn't like this before and only began showing his true colours after the split,' she added. Meanwhile, Muntazar has refuted Saidah's claims that he couldn't afford to proceed with their wedding. In a separate interview with mStar, the actor said he has additional funds invested in unit trusts. 'I already told Saidah about it, but she told me that's investment savings and not actual money. 'If it's true that I have only RM500 in savings, how is it possible for me to pay close to RM1,000 monthly for my car while also giving my family around RM1,000?" he questioned.

Malaysia's iconic superhero Keluang Man finally soars to the silver screen

This film tells the story of Borhan, a psychiatric patient in Kluang, who lives a double life as the mysterious vigilante Keluang Man. Photo: Keluang Man/Instagram After decades of nostalgia and years of anticipation, Keluang Man, Malaysia's original animated superhero, has finally made his live-action debut in cinemas nationwide. Released on May 29, the big-screen adaptation breathes new life into a local legend, blending action, humour and heartfelt storytelling in true Malaysian style. Directed by Anwari Ashraf, the man behind Polis Evo and Project: High Council , Keluang Man is not just another superhero flick. It's a tribute to Malaysian pop culture, a reinvention of an iconic character from the 1990s, and the start of the Astro Shaw Cinematic Universe (ASCU). This film tells the story of Borhan, played by Nas Muammar Zar, better known as Nas-T, a psychiatric patient in Kluang who lives a double life as the mysterious vigilante Keluang Man. Haunted by a voice in his head which is voiced by radio icon Halim Othman, Borhan finds himself pulled between delusions, memories and justice, especially when confronted with his estranged brother Shamsir, played by Datuk Remy Ishak. The story unfolds with a quirky cast of characters including Shweta Sekhon as Dr Malini, Borhan's psychiatrist, and Anwaar Beg Moghal as Inspector Sahab, her relentless brother who is hot on Keluang Man's trail. Datuk Rosyam Nor rounds out the cast as Ahmad, Borhan's aged but wise mentor. Speaking at the movie's gala premiere, lead actor Nas-T admitted that stepping into Borhan's complex world was both a challenge and a triumph. 'It's all thanks to director Anwari Ashraf, who wrote and directed it, and I entrusted everything to him. 'He moulded my character, and I followed his direction faithfully,' he said. In a particularly emotional twist, beloved radio host Halim returns not in body, but in voice. Lending his 1990s-era persona to a voice inside Borhan's head, Halim shared how surreal the experience was. 'Anwari told me about a superhero film with a character inspired by me, tied to the golden days of Roda Impian . 'I was touched by the director's imagination in wanting to capture Malaysia's memories from around 1998 to 2000,' Halim said. For Halim in particular, Keluang Man is considered a generational bridge that would bring people together. 'This isn't just a superhero film, it's a creative journey connecting nostalgia with a new generation,' he said. Shot in Kuala Lumpur, Kluang, Klang and Ipoh, Keluang Man took over two years to produce, with a reported budget of RM13 million. It represents the first full-fledged live-action adaptation of a local animated icon, originally created by the late Kamn Ismail. Director Anwari described the film as a love letter to fans and a vision of more local heroes to come. 'I hope audiences will embrace this film and help reignite the spirit of the superhero Keluang Man, so that his legacy can be passed down from one generation to the next,' he said. – Sinar Daily
