Inside Coronation Street newcomer's acting past including stint on rival soap

Daily Mirror2 days ago

Coronation Street fans have been introduced to newcomer Fiona Morley, but it's not her first time on a soap set – here's where viewers may have seen actress Sara Poyzer before
There's another new arrival in Weatherfield, as Coronation Street fans have been introduced to Fiona Morley. Despite being a newcomer on the cobbles, fans may have seen actress Sara Poyzer before.
In tonight's episode, fans see her interact with her ex Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) following his split from fiancé Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney).

It was previously reported that the character would be seen revealing her 'dodgy dealings' to Ronnie, and will offer him a business proposition; to sell stolen cars for a vast sum of money.

It's not just Ronnie Fiona will be involved with, however, as Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) wants in on her corrupt car business, as he reveals he will start selling the cars through his brother Kevin Webster's (Michael Le Vell) garage.
On-screen, it seems like Sara's character Fiona will become busy by being involved in some dodgy dealings. Off-screen, the actress has been busy on the West End, and various other TV shows.

ABBA fans will know the star for her ten year stint as Donna Sheridan on the West End stage in Mamma Mia. Radio listeners will also know her as being a staple in BBC Radio 4 soap opera The Archers in the role of Leonie Schnell.
Hardcore soap fans, however, may remember Sara for her short stints in BBC soaps EastEnders and Casualty. In 2013, Sara appeared in the Casualty episode What a Wonderful Life, as Lynne Shields.

She's also starred in EastEnders twice. Once in a guest role as character Penny in 2002, and more recently as DS Sally Grant in 2013. During the 4 November episode that year, Sara's character interviewed Alice Branning (Jasmyn Banks) about the murder of Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd), as she charged her with the murder.
Elsewhere, Sara has starred in Doctors, Cast Offs, Paradise Reclaimed, Dangerville, Dangerfield, Playing the Field, Peak Practice, Crossroads and The Pilot of Ordinary People. In 2019, she also starred in Doctor Who: The Legacy of Time.
Back to the cobbles and spoilers for next week hint at trouble. Next week, Carl will be seen continuing his dodgy dealings with Fiona, while their meeting leaves Abi Franklin clearly jealous despite her being married to Carl's brother Kevin Webster.

How will it all play out?

Helen Flanagan announces racy underwear collection following split

The former Coronation Street actress, 34, has reportedly split from boyfriend Robbie Talbot just over a year after first getting together. Helen Flanagan has wasted no time in ensuring her former flame knows what he's missing. It comes as the 34-year-old reportedly split with partner Robbie Talbot, 45, as their romance is said to have 'fizzled out'. Fresh off her solo trip to France, where the Corrie actress was seen sporting a striking blue swimsuit as she soaked up the rays, Helen has sent fans into overdrive with her latest racy social media post. ‌ Helen and Robbie, who began dating amid her stint on Celebs Go Dating, are said to have clashed over views on having children. Since their split, Helen is focusing on being mum-of-three to her kids Charlie, three, Delilah, six, and Matilda, nine, that she shares with ex Scott Sinclair. ‌ Posing in a powder blue lingerie set, Helen announced her thrill to share her new collection. "Super excited to work alongside @nikkiintimates on my very own collection — Summer Haze — filled with the dreamiest pastels and romantic silhouettes," she wrote. She continued, captioning the racy post to her 1.1 million Instagram followers, "I've always loved lingerie modelling and feel my most confident and empowered when doing so. "I think 21 year old me would be proud that 34 year old me, and a Mum of 3, still has the confidence to do this! My body has changed but my message has not; let's love our bodies & be confident and gentle to ourselves in our skin. I hope this range has something for everyone." ‌ People were soon to flood the post with fire and heart-eye emojis. "True beauty beautiful inside and out," one fan penned. "You look absolutely stunning," voiced another as others simple wrote "Wow!!," as they spammed flames in the comments section. Some even chose to call on her to return to Corrie on the post. "Helen you need to come back to Corrie, everyone would watch it again if you were on it!," they noted. ‌ Meanwhile, Helen is believed to have been keen to have kids with dad-of-two Robbie, with insiders reporting the pair had a "grown-up" conversation when realising their relationship was not progressing. The news of their split just comes weeks after she reportedly voiced concerns that her romance might be fizzling out, following Robbie's move out just months after living together. ‌ Helen is said to have found it difficult balancing being a full-time mum alongside both her career and relationship expectations. Adding further stress, the actress recently placed her 'forever home' on the market amid rumours of financial pressures. Helen previously resided in the eight-bedroom property located in Bolton, Greater Manchester, along with her former partner Scott, 36, and their children, before separating in 2022. In a heartfelt Instagram post in January, she divulged: "My love life was a s**t show.... I didn't look after my mental health. I felt so s**t and sad. I felt like my whole life was f***ed up now and I had the perfect family. 13 years is a long time to be with someone. My whole 20s. I had a lot of family fall-outs too and I also lost basically all my money. Me and Scott weren't married we were engaged. "My mental health was so bad I thought maybe my kids would be better off without me and maybe they would be better off with their dad as he's more level-headed than me. I love my kids more than words can say, but when you are not well you're not well."

Another major EastEnders character to return after 8 years

EastEnders are expanding the Branning family this year, with the return of Lauren Branning's (Jacqueline Jossa) younger brother Oscar. The character, who was born on screen in 2007, is the son of Max Branning (Jake Wood) and his ex-wife Tanya Cross (Jo Joyner). With Jake reprising his role later this year, it has now been reported that he won't come back to Albert Square alone. Last seen portrayed by child actor Charlee Hall, the BBC soap has recast the part with Netflix star Pierre Moullier stepping into Oscar's shoes. Metro first reported Pierre's casting on Wednesday, as new filming pictures showed him on location with co-stars Jacqueline, Peter Beale favourite Thomas Law and Ian Beale legend Adam Woodyatt. Outside of an abandoned building, Lauren and the newbie can be seen carrying a number of holdalls and rucksacks. Peter can be seen sitting in a van with Oscar, before the group rush over towards three ne'er-do-wellers. They're also wearing tracksuits, and are holding bags, with one of them carrying a cricket bat down the front of his trousers. Lauren, can be seen shouting at Peter, as she seems to try and bargain with the gang. As the situation escalates, the weapon is brought out and they're threatened. Ian darts towards the van and encourages Oscar to get away from the situation as quickly as possible. With the vehicle speeding off, the thugs wave the cricket bat in their direction. After some speculation over Pierre's role from this soaps reporter, The Sun have now confirmed that he is portraying Oscar Branning. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? A source told the publication: 'It is an exceptional bout of casting – Pierre looks more like a younger Jake than Jake did himself. It's uncanny. 'He's going to bring something new to Oscar and the character will definitely set the cat amongst the pigeons in the Square.' More Trending As Oscar was just a child last time we saw him in 2017, he hasn't had many storylines, though the character was very much at the heart of Max's affair with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner). Following the explosive fall out in that memorable Christmas Day episode, the youngster was crying upstairs. Tanya rushed to attend to him and pack her bags, and was sent tumbling down the staircase. He was due to visit Max for his tenth birthday, though Tanya changed her mind at the last hour when she learnt that he had tried to con his neighbours in a scam with dodgy Weyland & Co. Emmerdale confirms Aaron's choice between Robert and John in early ITVX release

The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX. Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) has married John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) in Emmerdale, following the sudden return of his ex Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley). Robert made his way back to the village on Wednesday to try and stop Aaron from marrying his half brother. He wasn't there to announce that he knew everything about John's dark secrets, but there to tell Aaron that he never stopped loving him while he was in prison. Absolutely knocked for six, Aaron wasn't able to complete his vows at first, leaving John incredibly worried. He headed off and found Robert by the bridge, and wondered how on earth he was out of prison. Robert explained that he had got out following an appeal, and was there to try and get back with Aaron. The beloved character didn't know what to do next. Torn between the two men, Aaron was forced to choose between Robert and John. In tonight's episode though, it was confirmed he had picked John. While the ceremony was concluding, a drunk Robert was sat at the bus station. His attempt at drowning his sorrows was interrupted by the arrival of PC Swirling (Andy Moore), who revealed to Robert that he's broken his bail conditions. It meant that Robert was sent back to prison, marking the end to his very brief time back in the Dales. Back in the village, with John and Aaron finally married, they celebrated with their family in the Woolpack. Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) eventually arrived after being let out of Lewis Barton's (Bradley Riches) loft, and apologised profusely to Aaron for missing the best man role. To try and make it up to his pal, Mackenzie decorated John's van ahead of their honeymoon departure. It wasn't perfect, but Aaron appreciated the thought more than anything. More Trending John and Aaron left the village and John was over the moon. He told Aaron that they've 'done it' but to him, this means far more than finally becoming a married couple. Outside the pub, youngster Kyle (Huey Quinn) arrived on his bike. He told Caleb (William Ash), Ruby (Beth Cordingly), Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) that he's just seen divers bringing a body out of the lake. The group immediately thought it was Ruby's father Anthony, and that was where John hid his body months ago.
