A 'Clueless' television series is under way at Peacock, Alicia Silverstone to reprise her iconic role

Ugh as if!
Alicia Silverstone is officially stepping back into her iconic plaid skirt as Cher Horowitz in a brand-new Clueless television series, now in development at Peacock.
Based on the beloved 1995 teen comedy, the new series is being crafted by Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, along with Dollface creator Jordan Weiss.
Silverstone isn't just reprising her role—she's also stepping into the role of executive producer, joined by the film's original director and writer Amy Heckerling and producer Robert Lawrence.
This isn't the first time a Clueless revival has been in the works. A previous attempt in 2020 centered around Dionne fizzled out, but Peacock is giving the franchise another go, this time with Cher at the forefront once more.
The original Clueless was a witty, ultra-stylish spin on Jane Austen's Emma, turning Cher into a fashion-forward, well-meaning Beverly Hills teen navigating high school, matchmaking, and self-discovery.
It became an instant classic, spawning a TV spin-off in the late '90s that ran for three seasons.
Plot details for the new series are still tightly under wraps, but it promises to continue Cher's story.
Silverstone's return follows her surprise revival of the character in a Super Bowl commercial two years ago that sent fans into a nostalgic frenzy.
Since her Clueless breakout, Silverstone has starred in films like Batman & Robin, Blast from the Past, and Beauty Shop, and earned critical acclaim for her recent TV work in American Horror Stories, The Baby-Sitters Club, and American Woman.
Up next, she's starring in the Yorgos Lanthimos-directed Bugonia and producing and appearing in the Acorn TV series Irish Blood.
With Silverstone back in the driver's seat and the OG creative team reuniting, this reboot could be anything but clueless.

Is Taylor Swift performing at the Super Bowl? Singer teases halftime show appearance during album reveal

Taylor Swift has sparked speculation that she could headline the Super Bowl halftime show after dropping a series of clues while announcing her new album The Life Of A Showgirl on boyfriend Travis Kelce's sports podcast. The singer revealed her 12th record's title and tracklist during the New Heights show, hosted by Travis and his brother Jason Kelce. Alongside the announcement, fans noticed references pointing to the NFL final, which will be staged at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where Travis's Kansas City Chiefs are favourites to feature. Taylor repeatedly mentioned the number 47, noting her Eras Tour's 47th show was at Levi's Stadium. She also thanked the Kelce brothers for 'screaming for 47 seconds' and joked she had performed in '47,000 countries.' Swift told listeners: 'I love numerology, I love math stuff, I love dates. That's stuff I find really fun.' Her new album artwork features an orange theme, which fans have linked to both California's Orange County and the Chiefs' red-and-yellow kit, colours that combine to create orange. The podcast backdrop added to speculation, with a Lombardi Trophy, a glass microphone and a figurine of Travis in his team kit all visible behind the pair. Swift had previously turned down Super Bowl offers to concentrate on re-recording her first six albums, but in May confirmed she had regained ownership of her master recordings.

Sprouse also spoke about his current television interests, crediting Palvin for introducing him to a reality TV show that has since become a shared obsession. He compared their viewing parties to the excitement and energy of the Super Bowl, noting how the gatherings have become a regular part of their routine.
