Will Doctor Who get another season? Showrunner admits he isn't sure
However, the series has endured a slump in recent years, to the point that even the current showrunner is uncertain about where the show will go moving forward. In his regular column for the Doctor Who Magazine, showrunner Russell T Davies admitted that plans for continuing the series are still in flux, writing:
"We don't know what's happening yet. and while everyone works that out, I'll take a pause on this page... Hopefully, we'll have news soon."
Davies had previously revealed that the recent episodes of Doctor Who had been cofinanced by Disney, and that he had hopes to produce the series on an annual basis.
This pause in the series production was further corroborated in a report from Deadline, where a source embedded in the production stated: 'This letter is a production notes diary for when the show is in production, or on air, and as Russell has stated within the piece, it is a pause.'
The Fifteenth Doctor's tenure ends with rampant speculation
The Fifteenth Doctor, played by Ncuti Gatwa, ended his two-season run on 31st May, with 'The Reality War' concluding his story arc and ending with his regeneration. Following his exit, the episode ended with a cliffhanger appearance by Billie Piper, who's previously played the role of companion Rose Tyler on the show.
The ambiguity surrounding the reveal has fueled heavy fan theorizing about whether or not Billie Piper will indeed take over as the new Doctor, something that the show's own marketing learned into while promoting the next Doctor Who Magazine.

While Billie Piper taking over as the Sixteenth Doctor would be an obvious conclusion to draw from 'The Reality War' episode's ending, a number of decisions both within the episode, and the show's past history, muddy the waters a bit.
For instance, the episode credits call both Ncuti Gatwa and Jodie Whittaker the Doctor, but not Billie Piper herself. Furthermore, the series has broken from its conventional regeneration process in the past, notably with the Fifteenth Doctor Himself, who originally coexisted with David Tennant's Fourteenth Doctor thanks to the plot device of bigeneration.
Most importantly, however, the recent production struggles and impending hiatus of the series mean that no production plans are set in stone as of yet, so there's no telling what form Doctor Who will take when it finally makes a return.

King of the Hill Season 14 OTT release: Now streaming on Hulu, here's what to expect as Hank and Bobby return after 15 years for the iconic reboot
The propane-powered gang from Arlen, Texas, has returned, and it is not just a nostalgic fever dream. King of the Hill Season 14 is now streaming exclusively on Hulu, officially marking the show's revival 15 years after it aired what fans thought was its finale. Surprise, Hank Hill is still mumbling about propane, and we are 100% here for it. King of the Hill OTT release All ten episodes of the new season landed on Hulu on August 4, turning the once-Fox classic into a full-on Hulu original. If you have been wondering where Hank, Peggy, Bobby, and the boys have been, well, you are in for a wild ride. What to expect from King of the Hill? Turns out, quite a bit. Hank and Peggy Hill return to their Texas roots after spending time working in the Middle East, yes, you read that right. While their Arlen crew (Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill) has mostly stayed the same, the world around them definitely has not. And Bobby? Our boy is thriving. He is now the head chef at Robata Chane, a German-Japanese fusion restaurant. That is right, the same Bobby who once snacked through awkward pre-teen moments is now plating up international cuisine. Who's voicing who? The OG voices are back and better than ever, mostly. We will again see Mike Judge return as Hank Hill and Boomhauer. And Kathy Najimy obviously continues to crush it as Peggy. Pamela Adlon reprises her iconic role as Bobby, and sadly Johnny Hardwick (Dale) recorded part of the season before his tragic passing in 2023, while Toby Huss steps in as well. Stephen Root, Jonathan Joss (before his 2025 passing), and Ronny Chieng round out the all-star voice cast. Where to watch King of the Hill for free? If you are new to Hulu, you can score a 30-day free trial of their ad-supported plan, plenty of time to binge the entire season. Post-trial, it is $9.99/month. Fancy going ad-free? That will cost $18.99/month. Or grab the Disney+ bundle starting at $10.99/month to stream even more. King of the Hill trailer

Reality show ‘Strictly Come Dancing' in turmoil again as BBC investigates alleged cocaine use
The BBC has launched an internal investigation into 'Strictly Come Dancing' following fresh allegations of drug use on set, reigniting turmoil around the flagship show. The Sun reported that two unnamed stars were accused of taking cocaine, prompting the broadcaster to hire an external legal firm to lead the probe. 'We have clear protocols and policies in place for dealing with any serious complaint raised with us,' a BBC spokeswoman told Deadline. 'We would always encourage people to speak to us if they have concerns. It would not be appropriate for us to comment further.' Deadline reported that the legal team will report directly to an internal BBC unit handling the matter. According to The Sun, the original accusations stemmed from a legal submission made months ago by Russells law firm on behalf of former contestant Wynne Evans. The claim alleges that two individuals—whose identities have not been disclosed, nor whether they are professional dancers or celebrity participants—used cocaine, and that the behaviour was 'well known on set'. Evans, who was recently let go from his BBC radio show after being caught on camera making a lewd comment during the Strictly live tour, commented on Instagram: 'It breaks my heart to say the BBC has decided not to renew my contract so I won't be returning to my radio show.' This latest scandal follows last year's controversy involving professional dancers, including Giovanni Pernice, whose dispute with ex-partner Amanda Abbington became public amid an internal BBC inquiry. At the time, the broadcaster implemented new welfare policies in hopes of improving the workplace environment. Now, with its 23rd season approaching, 'Strictly Come Dancing' finds itself once again battling to protect its reputation.
