Coronation Street spoiler 'confirms' sad exit from ITV soap 19 years after debut

Daily Mirror29-07-2025
Coronation Street spoilers appear to confirm the exit storyline for one character, as they prepare to bow out of the ITV soap after being born on the show in 2009
It's the beginning of the end for one Coronation Street character it seems, as spoilers tease an exit is fast approaching.

One character is set to bow out of the ITV soap this year, with the actor playing the role confirming this. But now new details appear to confirm the departure and that it will be soon.

Corrie spoilers tease the moment Aadi Alahan's disastrous actions and crimes catch up with him next week. The son of Dev Alahan is struggling with recent events, knocking back the booze.

His debt, the theft from his family in a staged robbery and the fact his drug-use led to Lauren Bolton's injuries after the house party all lead to him spiralling. Actor Adam Hussain confirmed not so long ago he was leaving the role, and with that we knew Aadi would depart at some point.
Since then the character's life has begun to fall apart, with his relationship with Lauren built on lies, and his stepmother Bernie Winter covering up his deceit from the family, and trying to help him claw back the money he owes. Things reach a head next week, with spoilers revealing a turning point.

Amid an incident at Dev and Bernie's wedding that sees Bernie rushed to hospital and in a bad way, Aadi hits the booze. At this point his relative Aunty Rani has arrived, and after offering funds towards the wedding she is keen to keep track of what's being spent.
Aadi panics, knowing full well he's trying to get things on the cheap to make savings to get the money back. When everything kicks off with Bernie, it's left unknown what happens next - but the family are all called to the hospital.
In the following episode, it all gets too much and he hits the bottle. He ends up falling and hitting his head after an incident with Theo Silverton, while it's clear Aadi is hitting rock bottom.

As Lauren grows concerned for her new man, it becomes apparent he is avoiding her unable to handle the guilt. So when she heads off to find him and tracks him down, nothing can prepare her for what he's about to reveal.
Aadi decides he can't lie anymore, and decides to tell Lauren all about the LSD and how it was his drink laced with the drug that she drank, leading to her being seriously injured. A picture shows Lauren looking horrified but how will she react to Aadi's lies?

Soon enough Aadi decides the truth needs to be shared, and he braces himself to reveal all to dad Dev and his family too. Viewers will have to tune in to find out hoe he reacts to this, and what this means for Aadi ahead of his exit from the show.
Might Aadi face trouble for what happened? Might he end up fleeing, or will he decide to move away and have a fresh start? All will be revealed soon. Aadi has been on the show since 2009, with Sunita welcoming him and his twin sister Asha on the show - and soon, after 19 years, the character will be heading off.

ITV makes major decision on I'm A Celebrity's future after talks with officials

The broadcaster is planning to secure the series' Australian jungle location for another five years, a source has claimed ITV is reportedly in talks to extend I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! until at least 2030. ‌ A TV source says the broadcaster is planning to secure the series' Australian jungle location for another five years and if successful, the deal would take the hit reality show up to its landmark 30th series. ‌ The discussions would mark a shift in strategy for ITV, which has previously only signed three-year agreements to use the Murwillumbah site in New South Wales. Negotiations are now reportedly under way with Australian authorities and the Tweed Shire Council, which must approve any extended filming permits. ‌ A source told The Sun: "The production team are planning five years in advance, which is a long-term approach they haven't adopted before. But this is not a done deal with the local authorities, and the negotiations have just started to secure the site. "They're not taking anything for granted but are hopeful all parties involved will be able to reach some kind of agreement." ‌ A spokesperson for Tweed Shire Council confirmed talks are ongoing. She said: "They will need to seek permission again – we can't give open-ended filming permissions to anyone." I'm A Celebrity, hosted by Ant McPartlin, 48, and Declan Donnelly, also 48, remains ITV's highest-rated returning entertainment series. ‌ Last year's 24th series drew an average audience of 9.1 million, making it 2024's most-watched entertainment programme. I'm A Celebrity launched in 2002, with DJ Tony Blackburn, now 81, crowned the inaugural winner. The format sees celebrities undertake challenges in the Australian jungle, competing for public favour. The show temporarily relocated to Gwrych Castle in North Wales in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid pandemic. ‌ Its most recent series was won by 38-year-old singer Danny Jones, from the band McFly. Richard Coles, 62, and Coleen Rooney, 39, were runners-up. The 25th series is set to return this autumn, although ITV has not yet revealed the full celebrity line-up.

Gary Lineker is NOT in ITV's World Cup plans despite ex-Match of the Day host taking up new role with broadcaster after controversial BBC sacking

ITV do not intend to bring in Gary Lineker to front their World Cup coverage. The prospect of the former Match of the Day host presenting the broadcaster's programmes from next year's tournament had been raised after reports claimed that he was to front an evening quiz show on ITV1. It is understood that ITV Sport are already in the latter stages of planning for the tournament - and that Lineker is not involved. The news would appear to end a scenario in which Lineker would be in direct opposition to the BBC, which also holds the rights to screen the World Cup in the UK. He was due to host the competition for the BBC after retiring from Match of the Day at the end of the season. However, controversy over a social media post he shared put an end to what was viewed as a departing victory lap for the 64-year-old. The Instagram post, about Zionism, featured an illustration of a rat. Lineker subsequently apologised but the storm, coming after a series of controversies, saw an early end to his long-running stint with the broadcaster. Lineker has been fronting a podcast, The Rest is Football. Earlier today Goalhanger, the company he co-founded, announced a three-year deal to screen highlights from Spain's La Liga, A new podcast, The Rest Is Football: LALIGA will show the footage, becoming the first show of its kind to secure a rights deal. Lineker, who starred for Barcelona, said: 'I've made no secret of my love for Spanish football over the years. Ever since I played there in the late '80s, I've followed the story of LALIGA closely. 'Now, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Marcus Rashford joining Jude Bellingham and Conor Gallagher in Spain, all eyes will be on LALIGA's biggest games each week. The Rest Is Football: LALIGA will be the perfect way to catch all the goals and key action. I can't wait.'

ITV Coronation Street Bethany Platt's totally different new look unveiled ahead of return

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Coronation Street seems to have given fans a sneak peek at Bethany Platt's fresh look ahead of her anticipated return to the soap. Bethany first graced our screens back in 2000, born on-screen to mother Sarah (played by Tina O'Brien). Now portrayed by Lucy Fallon, it's safe to say that Bethany has weathered her fair share of dramatic storylines. In 2017, she found herself embroiled in a heart-wrenching plot involving child exploitation and grooming, earning Lucy an Inside Soap Award for her performance. However, in February this year, she bid farewell to the cobbles to pursue a journalism career in London. (Image: ITV) This temporary departure allowed Lucy to take maternity leave, with the actress welcoming her second child with footballer partner Ryan Ledson in January, reports the Daily Star. Come May, it was announced that Lucy would be returning to Coronation Street to reprise her role as Bethany. Lucy confirmed last month that she had resumed filming on the cobbles. Now, after viewing a recent video shared on Coronation Street's social media, fans are speculating that the soap has unveiled Bethany's revamped look. The video features several ITV stars sending their best wishes to the Lionesses ahead of their triumphant win at the Euros 2025. Among those appearing were Corrie's own Lucy, Peter Gunn, who portrays Brian Packham, and David Neilson, known for his role as Roy Cropper. Lucy's transformation into Bethany was quite the sight, as she donned a gothic-inspired ensemble featuring a black cropped top and skirt, topped off with a lace choker. Fans took to a Reddit thread to share their thoughts on Bethany's new look, with one person asking: "Is Bethany going goth when she comes back?" Another fan was impressed, commenting: "She looks fab!". A third fan expressed their reservations, posting: "All for people being confident but doesn't seem like the type of outfit Bethany would want to wear, especially with the stoma and the top being cropped. Probably has already been forgotten or she got some miracle surgery fix." Speculation arose among other fans that the outfit choice might be linked to Halloween scenes being filmed for an October broadcast. One observant fan speculated: "I'm going to assume it's something to do with Halloween, they should be filming end of October around now." Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
