Jaxson Dart Links With NY Giants Legend After Successful Spring
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources.
The Ole Miss-New York Giants connection was strong this past weekend in New York City, as Eli Manning and Jaxson Dart linked up at 'Fanatics Fest.' Dart got an opportunity to rub shoulders with Rebels legends as he takes some time off before his first NFL training camp.
Last week, Dart wrapped up his first set of spring sessions with the Giants. Although there hasn't been a ton of pressure on the first-round pick just yet, considering the Giants have other veterans at the top of the depth chart, Dart knows it's only a matter of time before he has to step in and impress in front of a tough New York market, with high expectations.
Eli Manning is there to help if Dart needs it.

During a sit-down with CBS Sports recently, Manning opened up on his mentor approach with the new Giants passer. While Manning wants to be available to Dart, he isn't making it his responsibility to become a full-time mentor for the former Ole Miss QB.
"I've told him, 'Hey, I'm here to help in any way. I'm a phone call away, a text away, but I'm not getting in the way," Manning told CBS Sports.
As far as how he feels about his former franchise's decision to invest a high-end pick in Dart—Manning seems to approve.

"That's what you want your players to do, to make improvements, even though you're playing well, not being content and wanting to make those improvements every day. So I've kind of seen that. It sounds like he's doing that with the Giants."
Dart will enter Giants training camp as the third-string quarterback. Right now, the Giants anticipate starting the seasoned veteran, Russell Wilson, who has been in the league since 2012. Behind Wilson is the former first-overall pick, Jameis Winston, who has 105 games under his belt, including seven starts just last season.
Manning and Dart's journey with the Giants will get off to a different start. While Manning wasn't expected to start in New York right away, he ended up making his NFL debut in Week 1 for a small preview of what was to come later on in the year. By November, Manning was starting for the Giants. He appeared in nine games with seven starts during his rookie effort, before becoming a full-time starter until 2019.

LeBron James has returned to the court after MCL injury
There are about three months to go before the start of training camp for the 2025-26 NBA season. But plenty of players across the league are already beginning their offseason training programs. LeBron James is one man who is known for being diligent about how he takes care of his body. He continued to play at a superstar level this season, which was his 22nd in the NBA, and all indications are that he will play at least one more year in the league. In the Los Angeles Lakers' final playoff game, which was Game 5 of the first round versus the Minnesota Timberwolves, James reportedly sprained his MCL. It was expected that the injury would take roughly a month to heal, and this past weekend, he was back on the court while taking part in Fanatics Fest in New York City. James apparently suffered the injury when he collided with Timberwolves guard Donte DiVincenzo late in Game 5. He was at Fanatics Fest to record live versions of "The Shop" and the "Mind the Game" podcast. He was joined on stage by San Antonio Spurs phenom Victor Wembanyama, as well as legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady. He even cracked a joke about how Wembanyama's immense shot-blocking skills will hasten his retirement.

Bills' Josh Allen drops Nike for New Balance during minicamp
The post Bills' Josh Allen drops Nike for New Balance during minicamp appeared first on ClutchPoints. With football season right around the corner, players around the NFL are already gathering for minicamp to get those early reps in and build the chemistry needed to contend for a Super Bowl. The Buffalo Bills know all too well that the road to the Lombardi isn't an easy one, but with reigning MVP Josh Allen at the helm, they'll always have a solid chance. Just recently, he was spotted wearing a new brand of cleats aside from his usual sponsors over at Nike. Advertisement Check our Sneakers news for more upcoming releases and breaking content! Signed to Nike since his arrival to the league in 2018, Josh Allen was sporting a variety of Nike cleats throughout the 2024-25 NFL season. However, it seems as though his contract may have ended, as Allen was seen rocking a pair of New Balance Prodigy cleats just a few days ago at Bills' minicamp. © Gregory Fisher-Imagn Images While it isn't out of the ordinary for an athlete to try different styles of cleats and footwear throughout the offseason, especially at minicamp where there isn't a national audience, it's certainly strange to see such a drastic change out of the blue. It certainly appears as though Allen's Nike contract had recently expired and that he's made the switch to New Balance for the time being. Advertisement However, it's worth noting that Josh Allen wore Nike cleats earlier into this same minicamp, so his contract could have ended as recently as this week. Nevertheless, the quick switch over to New Balance would ensure Allen's status as the face of their football campaign and breakthrough into the NFL. Josh Allen would join other NFL talents like Cardinals' Marvin Harrison Jr. and Saints' Chase Young over at New Balance, but given his star power and MVP status, he would undoubtedly give the brand a massive boost in terms of their visibility on a national stage. New Balance already has their hand in a number of other sports with top athletes Shohei Ohtani, Kawhi Leonard, and Coco Gauff. What do you think of Josh Allen's recent switch to New Balance over Nike? Giants Receive Justin Verlander News After Red Sox Game
Giants Receive Justin Verlander News After Red Sox Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The San Francisco Giants continue to battle for playoff positioning with a 44-34 record, sitting 3.5 games behind the NL West-leading Dodgers and holding sole possession of the league's second Wild Card spot. Advertisement After winning two out of three games in a series against the Boston Red Sox this past weekend, they now aim to build on that momentum as they head into a series against the last-place Miami Marlins, who currently stand at 31-45. Much of the Giants' success this season has been driven by a consistently strong pitching staff. Ranked third in ERA at 3.26, the staff has also been exceptional in limiting power, giving up only 62 home runs—the second fewest in the league—and striking out 8.76 batters every nine innings. San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Justin Verlander (35)Neville E. Guard-Imagn Images Yet even as the rotation shines, offseason signing Justin Verlander has encountered his own set of challenges. Verlander recently returned to the mound last Wednesday after suffering a strained right pectoral, and in that outing, he allowed 4 runs in 4.2 innings—giving up 7 hits and 1 walk—and took the loss. Advertisement The veteran right-handed starter inked a one-year, $15 million deal heading into his age-42 season this offseason. In a recent roster move, the Giants optioned Tyler Fitzgerald to Triple-A as Verlander returned from paternity leave. In his 11 starts with the Giants this season, he is 0-4 with a 4.45 ERA, allowing 9.4 hits and posting 7.5 strikeouts per nine innings—numbers that fall well below his established career norms. Despite a career that includes an MVP, Triple Crown, three Cy Young Awards, nine All-Star selections, and two World Series championships over 20 seasons, his current performance thus far has been underwhelming and he will look to bounce back in his next scheduled start against Miami.
