Tennessee Titans delete viral Father's Day post after fans blast awkward wording

The Tennessee Titans tried to celebrate Father's Day on Sunday and ended up deleting the whole thing before noon. The post, which was meant to be inclusive and heartfelt, instead confused and irritated fans across the NFL.
Fans weren't sure if it was a typo, a joke, or a serious message
In what seemed to be an attempt at inclusivity or maybe just a social media team trying to do too much, the franchise accidentally alienated just about everyone. The result? Mass confusion, eye-rolls, and the post getting nuked off their timeline faster than a missed PAT.
The message read:
— _MLFootball (@_MLFootball)
'Happy Father's Day to all the Titans moms and fatherly figures.'
The reactions were immediate. Fans couldn't tell whether the Titans were trying to acknowledge single moms, celebrate 'non-traditional' parental roles, or just completely misunderstood the assignment.
Almost immediately, the replies were filled with
'Wait, what??'
energy.
Social media reactions ranged from confused to straight-up angry.
'Wtf does that even mean?'
Some questioned if the team meant to say "parents" instead. Others accused the Titans of trying too hard to be inclusive without thinking it through. One user joked,
'Just say Happy Father's Day, it's not that hard.'
It didn't take long before the Titans quietly hit delete on the post, probably hoping people wouldn't notice.

But, well, it had already gone viral.
Comments poured in blaming the Titans' PR team, calling the message 'unnecessary,' 'confusing,' or 'just weird.' One user wrote:
'You can tell the franchise is ran by a woman.'
Another said:
'How hard is it to just say 'Happy Father's Day'? GD.'
And others pointed out the inconsistency, asking whether mothers got similar treatment on their day.
Although the Titans tried to erase the moment by deleting the post, screenshots and quote tweets are still spreading.
It's become yet another lesson in how one awkward social media message can spark a backlash in under five minutes flat.
At the end of the day, the Titans likely had good intentions but their delivery made things worse. In trying to be inclusive, they ended up sounding tone-deaf, and NFL fans aren't exactly known for letting that slide.
Moral of the story? Just say 'Happy Father's Day.' No remix needed.

However, Thornton played a small part in the film, so the two became more acquainted years later, reported People. "We got to know each other because I did three movies with Bruce [Willis]," he added. "And you brought the kids to set all the time. So over the years we've known each other." 'Landman' was primarily shot in the Fort Worth area of Texas, a location familiar to Sheridan. He's used the region as a backdrop for several of his other series as well, including 1883, Yellowstone, and Lawmen: Bass Reeves, reported People.

Tom Brady melts hearts on Father's Day with emotional tribute to his lifelong hero—his dad
Tom Brady melts hearts on Father's Day (Image via Getty) NFL legend Tom Brady marked Father's Day 2025 with an emotional double tribute—one celebrating his own father and another reflecting on his journey as a dad. The seven-time Super Bowl champion's message struck a chord across social media, reminding fans why family remains at the core of his legacy. Even years after retirement, Brady continues to lead conversations that go beyond football. With heartfelt posts and rare personal reflections, he offered a glimpse into the values that have defined his life on and off the field. Childhood memories resurface in touching throwback Tom Brady began the day by reposting a heartfelt throwback clip from his youth, where he was asked who his hero was. With a boyish smile and earnest tone, young Brady had replied, 'Who's my hero? That's a great question. Well, I think my dad is my hero because he's someone I look up to every day… my dad.' Revisiting that video years later, Brady added a touching overlay to the clip on his Instagram Stories, writing, 'Meant it then and mean it more than ever today. HFD dad, ILYSM .' View this post on Instagram A post shared by ColorsTV (@colorstv) Celebrating his role as a son and a father Just an hour later, Brady expanded his message with a longer Instagram post that resonated with fellow parents and fans alike. 'Happy Father's Day to my dad who taught me everything about what it means to be a father. And to all the Dads out there who are great role models to their kids,' Brady wrote. 'My dad has always been my biggest supporter, my best friend, and my number one teacher, not just in sports but in life.' The NFL icon continued by crediting his father for instilling principles that shaped him on and off the field, 'The values he passed on to our family — hard work, integrity, compassion and unconditional love — shaped me in every way. Each day I try to live up to the example he set: to be present and to make sure my kids know how much I love and care about them. I'm grateful for every moment and it's a pleasure watching these three beautiful angels grow up!' A champion dad off the field Tom Brady shares a close bond with his three children—Jack, Benjamin, and Vivian. Jack, his son with Bridget Moynahan, has often joined him at games and on the field. Benjamin and Vivian, his children with Gisele Bündchen, frequently appear in his posts, highlighting their playful and affectionate relationship. From football tosses to quiet moments, Brady often says fatherhood is his most important role—and his 2025 tribute made that clearer than ever.
