Mosquera has established himself as one of La Liga's best young centre-backs, having made his senior debut for Valencia in January 2022 against Atletico Baleares in a 1-0 Copa del Rey win. Marcus Rashford to get 10 strict rules to follow at Barcelona after completing transfer

Marcus Rashford is set to join Barcelona on loan with an option to buy, having been frozen out at Manchester United by manager Ruben Amorim Marcus Rashford is closing in on a loan move to Barcelona and the Manchester United star will have to follow some strict rules if he is to succeed under Hansi Flick. Rashford has been frozen out at Old Trafford and is hoping to get back to his best at Barcelona. ‌ The La Liga giants have agreed to sign him on loan with an option to buy and he could prove an excellent addition to a side that enjoyed great success in Flick's first campaign. Barcelona won a domestic treble last season, lifting the La Liga title, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup. ‌ And Barcelona's success came after Flick implemented 10 strict rules that he expects every member of his squad to follow, according to Spanish publication AS. The report states that Flick has demanded that each player arrives for training at least 90 minutes early, with the German often the first person at the training ground. ‌ There is also a daily weigh-in to help keep track of the squad's fitness levels, while the entire squad are required to eat food prepared by nutritionist Silvia Tremoleda at the club's Ciutat Esportiva canteen. Players are also required to take part in a warm-up session on the morning of a game, something that was reportedly scrapped under previous boss Xavi after complaints from the squad. Flick also demands that his players meet at the team hotel ahead of every game, with the 60-year-old said to be keen to 'control every detail and avoid unpleasant surprises'. He has also scrapped late-night flights after away games to prioritise player recovery. Training under Flick is very tough, though, with Barcelona implementing long and intense training sessions that last around an hour and a half. He has also scrapped the fines system that was in place under Xavi, trusting his players to hold themselves to account. It is noted that Flick typically restricts his players to just one day off a week, with the manager demanding they give him his all. He also tries to maintain a professional relationship with the squad 'based on respect and commitment', believing that there should be a clear line between manager and player. ‌ And Flick has already made it clear that he is a fan of Rashford, having described him as a "fantastic player" when asked about a potential move for the winger back in May. "This is what we have talked about with the club," Flick said. "In the last matches maybe we did not have a lot of options in that position… so we have to bring more options to the team and more quality. This is the job from Deco, is clear, and I will support him. "I don't want to speak about players which are not in my team, but of course Luis Diaz and Marcus Rashford are fantastic players. I like them and we'll see what happens."

According to Mundo Deportivo, however, the England international has been given a way out of his Man Utd hell by joining Barca - a dream move he has been pushing for all summer. The same source claims the Blaugrana and the Red Devils have agreed on a season-long loan for Rashford and an official announcement is expected for Wednesday. And the deal includes a tiny buyout clause that the Catalan giants could trigger if they wish to hold on to the Man Utd academy graduate next year. That is significantly less than what he was previously valued at during his heyday at Old Trafford. CIES rated Rashford between £130m and £170m four years ago, which made him the most valuable player in the world along with Erling Haaland at the time. But the winger's value significantly dropped ever since 2023, just a few months after a stunning campaign that saw him notching a staggering total of 30 goals and 12 assists in 56 appearances. Man Utd would have to take a major pay cut to let their once-prized asset leave next year. Man Utd's Marcus Rashford 'may not be able to play for Barcelona due to registration issues' But Barcelona will reportedly cover all of Rashford's £325,000-a-week wages to bring him to LaLiga. That agreement will save the Manchester giants around £15m in wages, which is key for Amorim as he looks to overhaul the squad on a budget.

'That's crazy' - Pogba questions Man Utd decision to let go of 'great player'

Paul Pogba says he is 'happy' to see Marcus Rashford join Barcelona on loan, but believes Manchester United are losing a 'great player' this summer. There has been uncertainty over Rashford's future ever since the forward returned from a six-month loan spell with Aston Villa, in which he racked up four goals and six assists in 17 appearances. But the Red Devils gave Rashford permission to travel to Catalonia at the weekend and the 27-year-old is expected to join the La Liga champions on a temporary basis over the coming days. The England international is hoping to join up with Hansi Flick's squad on Thursday to ensure he can play a role in the club's pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea. It's understood Rashford has accepted a major salary reduction at the Camp Nou, with the winger set to earn around £8.6million gross, including bonuses – a significant drop on his £16.9m-per-year wages at Old Trafford. Barca's deal for Rashford will include an option to sign the attacker outright when his 12-month loan comes to an end. It's just the latest chapter in what has been a turbulent few years for the United academy graduate, who joined the club at the age of just seven before becoming a household name with his boyhood team. Though somewhat surprised by the move, Pogba is pleased for Rashford and hopes to see his former team-mate hit the ground running in Spanish football. 'That's crazy. I'm happy for him because they took his number out,' the ex-United and France midfielder said during conversation with social media star iShowSpeed. 'Manchester United are losing a great player… it's great for Barcelona to be honest.' 🚨| WATCH: Paul Pogba talks about Marcus Rashford's move to Barcelona and says:'Manchester United, they're losing a great player — unlucky for them.' 😳👀 — Speedy HQ (@IShowSpeedHQ) July 20, 2025 Pogba doesn't blame Ruben Amorim for the way in which the situation has developed feels the United head coach is entitled to ditch players if he 'doesn't believe in' such as Rashford. 'I'm not even talking about Manchester United because they've bought a few players and the new manager wants to do his thing, I guess,' Pogba, who joined Monaco this summer, added. 'It's not really his [Amorim's] fault. If he doesn't believe in someone… you need to win at the end. 'If he doesn't play well, if he doesn't win, they're going to sack him. But I'm happy for Marcus.' On his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand speculated that details surrounding Rashford's situation would 'come out in the wash at some point' in the future. 'There must have been so much going on behind the scenes that we're just not aware of,' the legendary ex-United and England centre-back said. 'And Marcus isn't someone who really wants to talk and do interviews, so you have to respect that. 'But I'm sure it'll come out in the wash at some point. Is it because of a lack of form? A lack of confidence? Mismanagement? Have the club failed him? 'Or is it down to him? Is there injuries we don't know about? Has he lost that desire? That form is gone and he can't rekindle it and can't get it back? 'What are the issues that have led to a young kid that's a graduate of the academy at Manchester United, which is famous for all of the great players that have come through there, that he says he wants to leave?' Barcelona have agreed to pay all of Rashford's £315,000-a-week wages during his loan move. The winger's current contract at the Theatre of Dreams runs until the summer of 2028.
