For now, I'll submit the 'did Steve McNair practice this week' conversation.
During McNair's heyday, I was a grade school student in North Carolina. The way I remember it, he never once stepped foot on a practice field. The way it was portrayed on ESPN's 'SportsCenter,' McNair rolled directly out of bed every morning on to a gurney, upon which he was airlifted to the emergency room for hours upon hours of MRIs that found his ribs were held together by papier-mâché and there was nothing left of his hamstrings but tumbleweeds hot-glued to other tumbleweeds.
And then he'd show up to the stadium every Sunday and account for 280 yards and three touchdowns.

This is where The Tennessee Titans' 22nd best moment, as ranked by The Tennessean, occurred.
McNair, of course, hadn't practiced all week. McNair, of course, didn't need to practice. The star quarterback goes 30-for-43 passing with 334 yards and three touchdowns and runs four times for 38 yards. After the Giants took a 12-point lead early in the fourth quarter, McNair led a 14-play, 72-yard touchdown drive to cut the deficit to five. After the Titans' defense held steady with a goal-line stand and forced a Giants' field goal that extended the lead back to eight points, McNair led a 12-play, 81-yard drive in the final two minutes to send the game to overtime.

Crucially, McNair changed the play at the line of scrimmage before the game-tying two-point conversion attempt. He switched from a pass play to a quarterback draw and took the ball in himself, visibly wincing as he held the ball above his head in celebration. Then, naturally, he threw for another 47 yards in overtime to set up the game-winning field goal.

John Eustace signs another former Rovers player at Derby County
Dion Sanderson has joined Derby County on a season-long loan from Birmingham City. Sanderson, who spent the second half of last term on loan at Ewood Park, becomes the latest ex-Rovers player John Eustace has brought to Pride Park. 'In the season where he made me the captain, for the first six months he was there, I was probably playing the best football I've played so far and he brought that out of me.' Danny Batth, Andi Weimann and Owen Beck are also among the signings Derby have made ahead of the new campaign. Eustace guided the Rams to safety during the final months of last term and will be aiming to hit the ground running when they head to Stoke City on Saturday.

Rickea Jackson, Kelsey Plum lead the Sparks past the Clark-less Fever 100-91 for 7th win in 8 games
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Rickea Jackson scored 17 of her 25 points in the second half, Kelsey Plum had 25 points and 11 assists, and the Los Angeles Sparks beat the Indiana Fever 100-91 on Tuesday night for their seventh win in eight games. Jackson's 3-pointer with 6:23 remaining in the fourth quarter gave Los Angeles a 90-68 lead. Indiana answered with a 21-5 run to get within 95-89, but Azura Stevens made her fifth straight 3-pointer with 1:17 left for a nine-point lead to help seal the victory. Stevens finished with 19 points on 7-for-8 shooting from the field, and Dearica Hamby added 16 points for Los Angeles (13-15). Cameron Brink tied her career high with five blocks in her third game back from an injury. Caitlin Clark missed her eighth straight game due to a groin strain for Indiana (17-13). Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever with 34 points, including seven 3-pointers. Natasha Howard added 17 points and Aliyah Boston had her streak of double-doubles halted at six by finishing with 15 points and nine rebounds. The Sparks have won all three games against the Fever this season, with the regular-season finale coming in Los Angeles on Aug. 29. Indiana had its five-game win streak halted. The run was the Fever's longest since winning six straight in 2015, during current head coach Stephanie White's first tenure with the club. Hamby and Plum each scored 14 points in the first half, and Los Angeles closed on a 23-8 run to build a 54-43 lead at the break. The Sparks were 7 of 14 from 3-point range by the intermission, with Stevens, Jackson and Plum combining to make 6 of 7. A sex toy thrown from the stands landed near Indiana's Sophie Cunningham. The incident occurred with 2:05 left in the second quarter with the object landing in the lane near Cunningham, who had been vocal on social media about fans throwing the toys on the court. Brandon Lowe, Jake Mangum drive the Rays' 7-run 4th inning in a 7-3 victory over the Angels
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Brandon Lowe hit a two-run homer and Jake Mangum had a two-run single during the Tampa Bay Rays' seven-run fourth inning in a 7-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night. Yandy Díaz scored a run and drove in another during the decisive inning in Tampa Bay's third win in 13 games. Ryan Pepiot (7-9) yielded five hits and two earned runs while pitching into the sixth inning for Tampa Bay, snapping his five-start winless streak. Jo Adell homered and drove in all three runs for the Angels, who dropped to 6-6 on their 13-game homestand. Los Angeles' José Soriano (7-9) threw three hitless innings before the Rays demolished him in the fourth. After Díaz led off with the Rays' first hit, Lowe followed with his 20th homer on a 411-foot shot to center. Four of Tampa Bay's next five batters got hits, and Díaz added an RBI grounder in his second at-bat. Adell hit a two-run shot for his 23rd homer in the fifth, and he added an RBI single in the sixth.
